Chapter 1307 Will Of Elder (3)
When Andar first saw the Light Devourer after acquiring the Supreme Meditation Art, Endless Vault, the creature had been devouring suns, and at that time, his mortal mind had nearly been shattered by its cry, but the Andar at this present moment would eat a thousand of those Light Devourer and they would easily fit through the gaps in-between his teeth.
In a million years that was how much he had grown. The Light Devourer was a Four-Dimensional Entity, but Andar had exceeded that level and was more like an Emperor of the Light Devourer, and if he came in contact with any of these solitary creatures, they would bow before his might.
The Light Devourer in that vision was feeding on a random sun in the many universes, but what Andar's wings and tentacles were reaching for were the thousand immortal suns that had watched over the Great Since the end of the Primordial Era.
Every sun here was a million times bigger than the biggest suns in existence in the outside reality, and their light and heat could not even be measured using common sense.
With a screeching sound that would tear the mind, his wings exploded in size spreading for billions of miles in every moment and his tentacles pushed towards the suns, their hunger ineffable, their numbers in the millions and they began to slowly wrap around the suns, their tips shone with with black light as they began to drain the suns.
Andar shuddered as the tentacles finally broke through the defenses of the thousand suns and plunged into their core and the energy he was absorbing multiplied a thousandfold, transforming his gigantic black tentacles into white sinuous beams of light.
There was no way, even with his present abilities that Andar would be able to challenge a domain with the strength of the Great Desert, but he was simply a conduit of the power of the vast runes created by the Lady of Shadows, and as his body exploded in size, he focused on maintaining a steady mind, because that was where the challenge lied.
The formation was powerful and with its complexity, it could be regarded as something that was alive, and it could handle the vast amount of processes that were making all of this possible, Andar was the mind who had to hold this massive formation in place and channel it in the direction it should go, because the line that separated this intricate formation from its task and destruction was very fine, and Andar had to walk on that line.
Activating his intrinsic Spirit Matrix technique Grey Will, Andar's mind went cold and his consciousness became one of the greatest living computers in existence as the formation exploded the might of this technique past its limit, in this state, Andar who had long become so strong that the side-effect of Grey Will that would transform him into stone if he used it for too long was nothing but a bad memory was surprised when portions of his body began transforming to stone.
However, that was not his greatest concern because managing this formation… It was hard.
It was like he had become a mortal man once again, and he was holding the leash to a million wolves, all struggling and wishing to rend everything around them to pieces.
His hands had long grown numb, and his spirit had been scrapped until it was raw, it should not be possible that he could dig for more strength inside his soul, but he did, again and again.
The only thing holding him up was his determination to finish the task set upon him by his creator knowing how much depended on his success, and also… her, Staff. It was funny how after a million years, the both of them with their wildly opposing nature could become so close.
Unlike him who had to focus on maintaining the entire formation, Staff was carrying its weight, and this might seem like a simple thing, but it was as equally as challenging as the task he was undertaking, maybe even more so.
The ever-increasing weight of the formation was not an increase in a steady manner but flares up in a random fashion, random leaps and spikes that she had to account for to maintain the steadiness of the formation, for despite its powers, it was a fragile thing, and the most crucial part about this formation was simple, it must be steady.
They were playing in a high-level field here, and if the balance of this formation was toppled, Oblivion was dancing along their edge to swallow them all.
That was right, although Nemesis was not here, his powers remained, although, without his presence, they could not be directed effectively, but like white blood cells rushing towards a wound in the flesh, the powers of Oblivion had encircled the entire formation, and it was fighting them for every inch.
Despite the load of the formation he was carrying, at the edge of his senses, he could sense a bitter battle raging, and it was between the Lady of Shadows and Oblivion! She was their vanguard, and he was only able to spread his wings unchecked because of her intervention.
Andar's wings had spread across half the Great Desert and the suns above had now lost more than half their mass, and it seemed he must have broken a certain balance because the retaliation of Oblivion became more fierce and there was a hint of summoning as if Oblivion was calling for the presence of Nemesis.
There was a loud crash, and this silent battle between the Lady of Shadows and Oblivion was no longer silent as billions of Angels appeared around the formation, and of these Angels, the weakest had four wings, Archangels.
Their wings blazed, the light from it pushing back Oblivion, but this defiance had a prize for the Angels were burning the souls to achieve this brightness, and the suns that represented their hearts were rapidly dimming.
When the heat from their sun was gone and its light faded, the Angels were seized by Oblivion. Their bodies became shriveled, their wings rotted and fell from their bodies, and their light was extinguished for all eternity.
Andar shivered, for despite the prize of pushing back Oblivion, no Angel faltered, they burned away their light to pave the way.
"Move faster silver eyes," Staff's voice echoed in the formation, "They are dying!"
The voice of the Lady of Shadows reached them, "Focus on your task and do not be distracted by what is happening around you. There is a price to be paid for any war, and we will mourn them when it's over, but the best response to their sacrifice should be your focus!"
Andar was silent, he had pushed to his limit and beyond, and there was nothing more he could do, and so he took the advice of the Lady of Shadows and he focused on his task. He tried not to notice the bright flashes of light that were surrounding them like stars and how much of them were winking out at every moment.
It was then that the full weight of this battle settled in his mind.
"Intruders… Violators, Thou shalt be punished!"
"Ah, Violators! I like that one," Staff grunted, the mirth in her voice did not reach her cold eyes, "I am going to be doing a lot of violating with my staff before the end of this day."
