Chapter 1297 Transferring Blame

Gothran Inul's fists exploded into motion, faster than the eyes could see as he transformed into a silver drill, the icy crystal on all his arms serving as miniature teeth that chewed through the flesh and bones of the mother.

So much blood and gore rained down from the sky that the realm became choked with it. It drowned everything, and the only two beings who were standing above the immensity of this devastation were Rowan and the Eye of Time.

The barrier over Rowan kept him clean from the rain of gore, but the Eye of Time did not even consider pushing away the gore and soon its entire realm resembled a massive coffin made from blood and bone.

A series of unending shockwaves erupted from the body of the titan as he drilled into the immensity of flesh blocking his advance, and then Gothran'Inul realized that he would not make it in time to stop Thenos from assimilating the Primordial Essence, and wished to delay this process as much as possible, he cried towards the Eye of Time below,

"This benefit would not be for me alone, if you stand by and watch Thenos finish his awakening, then we would suffer his wrath, and even worse, the ultimate prize would slip from our fingers! I want only a single droplet, the rest would be yours. I swear on my name."

The Eye of Time remained motionless and silent, and the panicking titan screamed, "We are inside the realm of Thenos, and if you think you can survive his wrath, then I would believe that child when he says you are no longer invincible. If you don't join me then I will be willing to let down my pride and serve him, with both of our strengths, I see no reason why we cannot imprison you forever."

Even as the titan swore his betrayal to the Eye of Time, he did not stop his efforts, instead he was pushing ahead more vigorously, combusting another two hundred more arms to increase the rate by which he was digging through the immensity of flesh.

He had reached the bones, and blasting through it was a thousand times harder than before. The sounds of his fist cracking the bones were quite horrifying, equal to the cry of the Eye of Time when he had seen Rowan emerge from the nothingness. Gothran Inul cursed the weakness that kept him from accessing any of his spells, and techniques, burning his body as fuel was a direction that he did not want to be taking so early in the battle, but reaching the Primordial Essence before it was consumed was more important than preserving the integrity of his flesh that could be remade with no effort if he gained access to this Essence.

With the awareness that he might entirely be alone in this fight, Gothran'Inul growled and burned another two hundred arms, accelerating the destruction he was inflicting on the body of the mother, channeling so much power into pushing through he did not bother trying to keep the blood that had painted him red from staining his body. The body of the mother was shaking, nearly thirty percent of its flesh had been blasted apart, and under the harsh sound of her body being blasted apart, you could faintly hear the cries of pain.

From above, one of the gargantuan arms of the Mothers had been nearly torn off and it leaned to the side, the tips of its fingers grazing the ocean of blood and flesh below, the sight was chilling, but Gothran'Inul still had a massive amount of flesh to dig through and the aura of awakening from Thenos was becoming stronger.

The Eye of Time observed everything with both panic and anger. Most of its focus was on Rowan, as it knew that this abomination must be taken out of the board before anything worthwhile could be decided on, however the weapon it unleashed to deal with Rowan was now focused on Thenos, and there was nothing the Eye of Time could do to dissuade this titan when it knew the allure of Primordial Essence and it was struggling not to pursue the Primordial Essence at the moment but simply observe its surroundings.

There were many things it found strange about this entire affair that were deeply troubling.

From the moment Rowan left the universe and the truth was revealed to the Eye that the person it had been dealing with for all this time was nothing but a Reflection, the Eye began to suspect foul play.

It had been less than a million years since Rowan left the universe, he was barely an infant, and his strength could barely be explained due to having multiple Primordial bloodlines and holding a Singularity, but how could he have set up every events that had been happening on Doom Star in such a small amount of time?! Could this be the work of the second Singularity?

The Eye of Time was hesitating, not willing to make a move until it understood everything that was happening and could properly adjust to it, but the cry of Gothran'Inul shook it from this route.

It thought that no matter how many plans Rowan had made, there had to be a limit. His achievements were already heaven-defying and it was quite unlikely that he could still make any more drastic changes.

In any normal situation, the apparent rebirth of Thenos should be the height of Rowan's plan, but the Eye of Time had been shocked repeatedly by the actions of this mortal, and it was hesitating.

Was this event the product of Rowan's mind or the World Stele?

"What are you waiting for?!" Gothran'Inul screamed and the Eye of Time felt a vast

ripple of life burst out from Thenos above and it made its decision.

The resurrection of Thenos must be the end goal of the World Stele, which would be a profound achievement if it succeeded, as there was nowhere in history where two holders of Singularities chose to work together, who knew what they might accomplish given enough time.

There was no way it could believe that in a million years, Rowan had been able to plan out all these events. If that was the case, Rowan should not be its focus, he had been the bait, and Thenos was working through him.

The Eye of Time cursed aloud, Thenos had merely fooled it. Lured into indecision by the presence of Rowan, it might have delayed until Thenos finished his resurrection. Its senses entered into its realm, focusing on the portion that had been corrupted by Nemesis.

This portion had already been isolated, and with time, the Eye of Time could slowly purge out this cancer that had taken root inside of it, but that was no longer an option, he could not wait, this curse was most likely a ploy from Thenos to delay it. The Eye of Time mustered himself and he shoved. The range of flesh covered by Nemesis was rapidly compressed under this unexpected power and then the Eye of Time decisively cut out the portion of its flesh taken over by Nemesis.

Now free from this burden, its massive realm launched itself upwards.

Rowan had been clutching his fist tightly, everything hinged on what would be happening next, and when the Eye of Time sliced off a piece of its flesh, he nearly laughed in relief.

His gaze focused on the pieces of flesh that the Eye had discarded, and he waited for Nemesis to arrive.

Inside Rowan's palm was a faint portal that led to the Great Desert.
