Chapter 114

Chapter 114

114 Jersey Saint Hospital II

“The board meeting is over!”

Elisa stared at the meeting room from afar and exclaimed.

She waited for a few seconds and as there was no response from the person she was talking to, her voice rang out again.

“Are you there? Naomi!”

It was only after Elisa spoke that Naomi responded.

“I was taking care of something. You said the meeting is over,” Naomi paused. “Elisa and Levi, I will need the both of you to do whatever it is necessary to stall everyone from leaving that room until Aiden and Camille are in there.”

“Make sure they don’t leave the room.”

As soon as Elisa and Levi heard Naomi, they made a move right away.

Elisa and Levi were both wearing black fitted suits, and with the pace, they took from where they were standing to the meeting room, it only took them a few seconds, and they arrived at the door.

.....

Everyone in the class had their tasks to handle in the hospital, and Elisa and Levi were responsible for keeping an eye on the board of directors in the room.

Creak!

The door was soon pushed open, and Elisa and Levi walked into the room. Despite the looks they were getting from the seven people in the room, a smile hung on Elisa and Levi’s faces.

“Who are you?!”

A cold and yet decisive voice rang out a second after Elisa and Levi were in the room.

The seven directors of the hospital stared at one another seemingly confused before then shifting their gaze to the two in front of them.

Elisa bowed her head gently when the man’s cold voice rang out. “I apologize for the disturbance, doctor Riley, there is just a pressing matter my partner and I need to discuss with you.”

Doctor Riley man was a man in his mid-forties, he had black hair, and sharp brown eyes and was also one of the board members of the hospital.

“If there’s anything you want to discuss you would have to arrange for it first, we have plenty of things to do, and not all of us have the time to waste around.”

It was another member of the board of directors, and as the gray-haired man spoke, he had his eyes on the woman who was sitting across from him.

It was quite obvious that there was a conflict between the both of them, and when the woman heard the man, she rolled her eyes at him and then said.

“Don’t listen to him, since you’re already here, you might as well tell us what it is you want to discuss with us.” The woman said politely.

A nod came from Elisa, “Thank you, doctor Rhodes.”

The seven directors of the hospital weren’t surprised that Elisa knew who they were, as they were renowned figures in society. That even after the emergence of superpowers, they were able to stand on their toes.

“My partner and I work for one of the largest enterprises in the world, and we would like to donate to jersey saint hospital,” Elisa said.

The directors had been in a calm state when Elise talked, but as soon as the word ‘donation’ left her mouth, the seven of them lay upright immediately.

As they stared at her, the expression on their faces changed, and the only thing they could think of was the donation that she had mentioned. Every other word that Elisa said was of no concern to them.

“The donation will fund graduate medical education, including the creation of seven new graduate medical residencies.” Elisa said, “And we are also considering the development of virtual supernatural programs in the hospital.”

When Elisa saw the looks that the seven directions had on their faces, she nodded her head, knowing she had them exactly where she wanted.

Elisa soon turned towards Levi and raised an eyebrow. Levi was quick to understand what she wanted, and he took a step forward.

“My partner had listed the donations that we have for the hospital, but I will say this that’s just the tip of the iceberg,” Levi exclaimed.

“Not only do we intend to create seven new medical residences, but we also would like to expand and renovate jersey saint hospital.”

Followed by Levi’s word was a burst of laughter from the man with gray hair. He had a smile on his face as he stared at the two in front of him, and after a few seconds, he stood from his seat.

“I apologize for my earlier conduct, I was just too stressed. But, come have a seat, with this sort of donations, we might as well make you the directors in the hospital.” The man said.

It was no surprise that the man would switch sides immediately, it was, in fact, well expected of him.

The directors of the hospital were greedy to the extreme and even though they were in charge and mostly supported the hospital regularly, they always chose to put their interests ahead. To the extent that they tampered with the funds of the hospital.

So, a donation like that meant more money to their pocket, and with wealth came power for them.

“Yes, why don’t you have a seat.” One of the directors spoke.

Elisa and Levi, however, shook their head. “The organization I come from is willing to do all this, but there’s one condition you must abide by.” She said.

The directors weren’t displeased or concerned about whatever the condition was going to be, as for them, even if they were to offer their children for these donations to be made, some of them didn’t mind.

“Condition? Just name it.”

“We must be kept anonymous,” Elisa replied. “We want to avoid the public eye, so apart from us in this room, no other person must be aware of the donations we made.”

“If you’re able to keep this in secret, then the donation will be made,” Elisa said with a light smile on her face.

When the directors heard Elisa, they stared at one another and their cheeks raised, exposing their teeth.

It couldn’t be any more better than this...

“Consider it done, the public will never get a wind of this.”

Ding!

Suddenly, one of the cellphones of the director in the room began to ring, and soon enough it began to vibrate.

The others turned towards the owner of the phone, and a displeased look could be seen on these six of their faces. They felt there shouldn’t be any sorry for the disturbance of an important discussion like this.

Wesley flashed a rough smile when he saw the looks that his colleagues had. He stared at the phone that was on the table, and as he saw the name on the screen, he raised an eyebrow and then shook his head.

Wesley soon switch off his cell phone and shifted his gaze to Elisa and Levi. “I apologize for the disturbance.” He said.

“Please, have a seat.” Wesley blurted a second after.

Elisa and Levi glanced at one another, before heading to the seat.

Their tasks involved keeping an eye on the board of directors, as such Elisa felt they might as well entertain them, by telling them all sorts of lies until the job was done.

Meanwhile, in an underground bunker, a woman paced around the bunker with beads of sweat all over her forehead.

A few meters away from her was a smashed phone, and whenever the woman glanced at the cell phone, she couldn’t help but feel even more furious at the sight of it.

“Damn! That old bastard.” Sonia exclaimed with rage all over her face.

Beside Sonia were three men and when they heard her loud and cold voice the three of them took a step backward. They were afraid, if they didn’t move away, then it was only a matter of time before they ended up in the same situation as the cell phone.

“Sonia, It isn’t just Wesley who isn’t picking, I have tried to reach out to the other six directors in the hospital, but none of them are answering.”

“They have all switched off their phone.”

Standing beside the desk at the table was a man with brown hair and a short red beard. And just like Sonia, he also had beads of sweat all over his forehead.

When Sonia heard her assistant, she clenched her hand into tight fists and appeared as though she was going to explode in rage anytime soon.

“Sonia, there is no cause for alarm. The seven of them might be occupied with one thing or the other,” The man said.

“How about the people we have around the hospital, have any of them indicated any sign of trouble in the hospital?” Sonia inquired.

When the assistant heard Sonia, he took a deep breath and replied. “No, they have been no foul play around the hospital, for the past two weeks. It’s all good in there.”

“You shouldn’t worry about this, Sonia, nothing terrible will happen to the hospital.” He said.

“I sure hope so, VA has destroyed and severed almost all ties that we have out there. The hospital is the last aid we have, and we can’t afford to lose that to them.” Sonia exclaimed.

Sonia turned towards the three men who were a few meters away from her, “Get the car, we are going to Jersey saint hospital.”
