Rise of the Crusader

Chapter 115

Chapter 115

115 Jersey Saint Hospital III

Creak

The creaking sound of the door opening occurred as Aiden slowly pushed the door. And a second after, he and Camille hurried into the room.

The room wasn’t far from what Aiden and Camille expected it to be. But, their eyes, however, moved to the bookshelf that was in the room.

As they glanced at one another, Aiden took large strides and walked toward the bookshelf.

“Where is that damn secret room!”

Aiden mumbled as he pulled the books in the shelf.

According to the hospital layout that they saw, there was an unregistered area in the dean’s office. Naomi had predicted if there was a secret room then it had to be in that region.

The area was precisely the bookshelf, and after a few seconds of pulling the books on the shelf, Aiden took a step backward and heaved a deep breath. He rubbed his hand across his hair, seemingly confused.

Just like Aiden, Camille was very much confused, as she had expected, there to be a key of some sort in the bookshelf.

.....

As in movies, you simply had to pull one of the books on the shelf and the secret door was going to open right away. However, Aiden had moved through every book on the shelf, and nothing happened.

“I think we are missing something,” Aiden muttered as he stared at the shelf.

Camille nodded her head, she was about to move towards the bookshelf, when she saw Aiden dashing towards it with his hand balled into a fist.

“A-”

Bang!

A thundered sound struck out as Aiden’s fist collided with the shelf.

Camille paused for a few seconds and as there was no change in the slightest from the shelf, she glared at Aiden.

“What were you thinking!”

Aiden wanted to retort to Camille when a sound occurred from the shelf. He quickly moved his gaze to the shelf, and as he saw the shelf moving slowly to the other end, a smile hung on his face.

“Hehehe.”

Aiden puffed his chest out, and majestically, he walked into the space that had just opened.

“Careful, there’s a staircase here,” Aiden said as he stepped on the stair.

He had only just spoken when the room light was turned on, and as he saw the place he had walked into, his mouth opened so wide that a duck egg could fit inside.

Soon after, Aiden abruptly sat on the staircase, with shock evident in his eyes.

As Camille met Aiden’s gaze, a smile also appeared on her face. She folded her hand across her chest as she walked toward the pile of money that was in the room.

The secret room wasn’t particularly large, but the goods that existed in the room made the value of the room tenfold of what it was worth. This place was simply a fountain of wealth.

Even a self-righteous man would lose grip of himself if he were to venture into this room. As whether it was cash, jewelry, pure gold, silvers, or even diamonds, they all existed in the room.

“What the hell!” Aiden blurted as he stood from the staircase and walked towards the stacked cash in the room.

Unlike Devon and Camille, who grew up in the academy, Aiden had only joined when he was six. He had also experienced a fair share of the cruelty of the world, and he knew what a wealth such as ludicrous as this was capable of achieving.

With this sort of wealth, he might as well forfeit the ambition that he had and live a life of no worry. Even the generation after him and the one after that wouldn’t need to lay a finger, and they would all live a splendid lifestyle.

“No, my ambition is way bigger than this... With due time!”

Aiden took his eyes off the items that were before him and shifted his gaze to Camille. “Let’s start moving the funds out.” He said and stretched his hand out.

Camille had seen the look on Aiden’s face, and when he seemed to have regained clarity, she flashed a light smile at him.

If a little bit of cash and jewelry were able to make Aiden get rid of his goals, then Camille’s expectations of him were going to lessen.

As a student of the elite division, a treasure like this should be nothing, as it was simply the tip of the iceberg.

“Moving them to the academy would have been the better place, but the truck also isn’t bad,” Camille said with a sneer on her face.

And when Aiden heard Camille, he rolled his eyes at her. “And whose fault is that? It’s the academy, not mine. I can’t breach through the force field that around the academy, so we have no other option than this.”

“Aren’t you suppose to have found a way to break through the force field? As someone with the ability to manipulate space and time, you’re really lacking behind.” Camille retorted.

“Perhaps if you had put in the same effort that you use to chase women into training, then you would have figured out a way to move past the force field.”

As Camille spoke, she threw the items in the room into the dark portal.

There was a frown on her face the entire time, and just as she stared at Aiden, she was met by a face full of smiles.

“Why do I get the feeling that you’re jealous,” Aiden muttered as he stared at Camille.

A mischievous smile hung on his face afterward.

Camille was about to respond when a voice sounded from the piece she had around her.

“Will the both of you be quiet for a second.” Naomi paused, “There’s a woman inside the building, I’m not sure who she is, but she is definitely of high power.”

“The both of you need to be vigilant and any moment from now, prepare to evacuate the room.”

The expression on Camille and Aiden’s faces changed when they heard Naomi. The squabble they were having earlier was put past them, and they operated even faster.

Meanwhile, as Sonia and her assistant arrived at the hospital, she hurried toward the seventh floor.

As for Elisa and Levi, once Naomi informed them about the person who entered into the hospital and was moving toward the meeting room, the both of them concluded their discussion with the directors and left.

“Madam Sonia!”

“Y-”

Wesley and the six other directors leaped from their seats when they saw Sonia pushing the door open.

“I had no idea you were coming, madam Sonia,” Wesley mumbled and then flashed a rough smile at the woman who was in front of him.

Sonia, however, had an irritated look on her face as she stared at Wesley.

“Why didn’t you answer any of my calls?!”

There had always been this supremacy air that Sonia had around her that made others, especially men feel inferior, and accompanied by that icy voice, Wesley gulped.

“M... My phone went off, and we... We were having an m-meeting.” Wesley stammered and almost all the words that left his mouth were gibberish, as he found it hard to speak to Sonia when she was in this state.

“So, the cell phones of seven of you went off. None of you could answer my call isn’t it!”

Sonia retorted, bringing forth beads of sweat on the forehead of the people in the room.

“Anyway, take me to that room.”

Wesley wanted to respond to what room, but he reminded himself that among all the rooms in the hospital, they could only be one room that Sonia could be asking for.

Wesley was still in a trance state with his body trembling in fear, but as Sonia snapped her finger and glared at him with eyes that contained the intent to kill, he reacted quickly.

As Wesley dashed out of the room, the six directors were about to move out of the room as well, when Sonia’s voice rang out.

“The rest of you can stay.” She said.

Sonia moved her gaze to her assistant, who immediately understood what it implied. And as she walked out of the room, he closed the door and stood with his folded across his chest and his eyes glued to the six of them.

“Ah-Ahem.”

The directors knew that there were absolutely not going to be allowed to leave the room and one after the other, they sat on their seats.

The meeting room was also on the seventh floor, but Wesley’s office was a bit far from the floor. However, with Sonia tailing behind him, it only took Wesley a few minutes before he arrived at the door.

He pushed the door, and without any delay, he rushed into the room with Sonia.

As Wesley entered the office, he raised one dark eyebrow and his mouth opened.

He stared at Sonia who was now standing beside him and then at the bookshelf in front.

“Was someone here?” Sonia asked as she took a step closer to the shelf.

“No,” Wesley replied quickly.

Sonia approached the shelf and placed her palm at the center of it. Followed by a creaking sound, the bookshelf began to move.

Meanwhile, Aiden and Camille were completely focused on moving the funds out. They had no idea when Wesley and Sonia entered the office, but when the bookshelf moved, they heard the sound.

Aiden and Camille stared at one another and then moved their gaze to the staircase.
