Chapter 1299 Fair Play

Gothran Inul had not stopped drilling into the body of the mother covering his target, nearly tearing through forty percent of the way; he was attempting to burn more of his flesh but when he noticed that the Eye of Time was making its moves, and so he held back, he would need all the strength he could afford to handle the inevitable betrayal from the Eye of Time, but first, they both needed to work together for a common goal, that should give him a bit of leeway to prepare for what was coming. The Eye of Time no longer taking the form of a massive realm transformed into a purple halberd and zipped toward the titan.

"Use this as a weapon, it shall cut through the impediment in our way with a single blow!"

If the titan had more time to process this change he would have refused this offer, but the breath of life from Thenos was burning so bright that the realm around them was beginning to respond to this change.

Gothran'Inul could hear the heartbeat of the child, which meant Thenos's Essence had awakened, and if any more time was given, his spirit and his soul would follow, and at that time, everything would be lost and he would have to flee before his fate would no longer be his own.

The halberd was millions of miles long with arcane runes and embellishments that exuded power that made space and time warp about its entire length.

Seizing the halberd with multiple arms, the titan's roar of excitement for wielding a piece of a Primordial was cut short as massive purple runes traveled from the weapon and spread through his entire body so fast that even as he instantly tore off every arm holding the halberd, the purple runes had already flooded his entire body, making him roar with outrage, as he discovered his Essence within him was rebelling against his control and being diverted into the consciousness of the Eye of Time, a process that was so incredibly violating it would be difficult to find the words to describe it.

He was lucky that he had been fast enough and cut off the arms holding the halberd which gave him a chance to fight against the infestation of his spirit but purple lightning burst out of his wounds and connected to the falling arms holding the halberd, where it dragged the arms back to the body of the titan, healing the wounds and making Gothran'Inul roar in rage as the influence of the Eye of Time in his body grew deeper, as it was linked to his body once more.

"What are you doing?... How are you even doing this?!..." Gothran'Inul screamed in rage, purple lightning pouring out from his hundred mouths as he tried without success to purge the influence of the Eye of Time from his body.

The influence of the Eye of Time was tearing through his body with incredible speed, and all of this was barely taking place in a fraction of a moment, which was far too quick to ever be a natural process.

A demented laughter echoed inside Gothran'Inul's body and spirit, as the Eye of Time crooned,

"Surely you did not think you spent all those eternities on my realm and I did not make any modifications to your body? Gothran'Inul, I thought you were wise. What made you ever think I would give you your freedom?"

"Why are you choosing to betray me now?" the titan cried out, "We are surrounded by enemies and you are shortening your hand!"

As if mocking him before the entire realm, the voice of the Eye of Time emerged from the weapon in the hands of the titan as the halberd snickered,

"You were going to betray me when a price like this arises, just as you know that I will also betray you. It's understandable that you were always going to be fighting for your survival. Also, you might not have figured this out yet, but I have only a singular enemy, the second was just the bait to draw our attention."

Gothran Inul was weakening rapidly as his mind raced through hundreds of options and he weakly cried, "You are wrong, I have seen the face of your enemies and you need to trust me. We need to work together!"

"No, we don't. How dare you believe I need to work with a lesser life form like you? For countless ages, I have endured your smelly husk defacing my glory, and you should be thankful that I chose to use your body as a vessel. Now be silent, I have endured enough humiliation to last me for all eternity and I don't plan to endure any more than this!"

The mouths of Gothran'Inul became fused, his malleable flesh making it seem as if he had never had a mouth to begin with. Purple lightning burst out of his flesh, as the halberd nearly transformed into purple lightning, and the titan now fully under the control of the Eye of Time swung the halberd almost in a lazy manner.

A shrill keening sound burst out from the surroundings of Gothran'Inul and the body of the mother that had been vibrating from the blows of the titan went still, and with a massive wet tearing sound, the body of the mother was torn in two, alongside half the realm.

The motion of the halberd did not stop with that slicing motion, as its other end pushed forward and pierced through the headless body of the baby in a single move. The Eye of Time brought the twitching body of the baby closer to itself as he growled, "Countless eternities nurturing this flesh, Gothran'Inul, you were always my last option. A body strong enough to hold me does not come by frequently, and now I shall cleanse this realm of everything, and my Ascension shall be unstoppable."

A single head turned towards Rowan and another towards Nemesis that was devouring the piece of its flesh left behind, the head facing Rowan grinned,

*Turn around is fair play, it's time to end it all!"

From both heads, purple lightning in the shape of a sword fleshed out heading for both Rowan and Nemesis.

Death in the shape of a sword made of lightning headed for Rowan, and he did not run from it, instead he stretched forth his hand, and he picked up half the torso of the mother and flung it towards the purple sword.

Not caring how Nemesis was choosing to deal with what the Eye of Time had sent towards it, Rowan's senses touched his palm once more hoping that what he was expecting had arrived, but he almost growled in frustration when he saw that it was not yet ready.

His body swerved to the side carried by a steam of bluish-white light as the blade sent out by the Eye of Time sliced through half the torso of the Mother, but it brought him enough time for Rowam to respond to the half-hearted attack made by the Eye of Time whose full attention was on the twitching infant impaled on its weapon.
