Chapter 607: Chapter 601: Just Rich

“Yeah, hurry up and go back to suck your mama’s milk.”

“Kid, I’ve got my eyes on you. You better keep up the good work.” Inside the crowd, voices varied, most of them trying to tease the burly man known as Big Bird. A minority, however, were fanning the flames and supporting Finn Lewis.

“I…” Big Bird’s face reddened, then he roared: “Don’t think just because you were brought back by the boss, I won’t dare to touch you. Today, I will beat you to death, damn it! What’s a country bumpkin like you being so arrogant?” As he spoke, he launched a punch straight to Finn Lewis’ head.

This punch was incredibly fast. If it were unleashed on Earth, it could have crushed a man’s nose or even face. Although he did not have any additional gear, the pure force of the punch could be overwhelming. Still, from start to finish, Finn Lewis never dodged. He just stood in place, watching the incoming fist as if he were frozen in fear.

The crowd froze. No one expected the young man not to dodge. Even though he probably couldn’t dodge, shouldn’t he have at least put up a front? What was he trying to imply by not moving at all?

Just when everyone thought the young man would end up in the medical room from the punch, a ‘smack’ was heard followed by a sudden punch that appeared in front of the incoming punch. The punch grabbed it and stopped it in its tracks. The flurry of fists made Finn Lewis’ hair flutter, but Finn Lewis didn’t make any moves from the beginning to the end.

In fact, Finn Lewis didn’t even blink. The crowd saw that clearly. No one here was good, and none of them would blink at the sight of violence—instead, everyone excitedly watched the show. The scene before their eyes, however, gave them a bit of a shock.

Not because someone stopped Big Bird’s punch, but because from start to finish, Finn Lewis’ facial expression never altered even when the punch was stopped less than 10 centimeters away from his face. Not once did he flinch or even blink, as though the punch was not meant for him.

This… even they would probably not be able to remain that calm. He definitely wasn’t scared stiff. Anyone could tell the difference between being scared stiff and being indifferent. Finn Lewis’ cold expression was definitely not one of fear, but one of indifference. Or perhaps… he was sure that the punch would be stopped.

The one who stopped the punch was none other than Dunn Monty. His physique was about the same as that of the burly man, but he was much more agile. Only when Dunn Monty’s fist stopped the punch in front of Finn Lewis did Finn Lewis slowly turn his head and quietly glanced at Dunn Monty. Without caring what Dunn Monty’s reaction would be, Finn Lewis walked away from Big Bird.

Finn Lewis didn’t dodge, not because he couldn’t, but because his strength was greater than theirs. Under non-assisted circumstances, his Kaemiya Protective Suit was more advanced, and not in any way inferior to theirs.

Finn Lewis’s unmoved reaction just showed his attitude towards Dunn Monty and Thomas Calvin’s positions. Besides, with the protection of his Kaemiya Protective Suit, even if he got hit by the punch, at most it would make him look a bit awkward. There was no way he could get hurt, and it was even unlikely for him to lose his balance at all.

As Finn Lewis bypassed Big Bird, he looked up at the corner of the second-floor deck. Although he couldn’t see anything, he knew Jasmine Davis was there.

“Interesting, very interesting.” Jasmine Davis was surprised. She had no idea how Finn Lewis had known she was there, but he had certainly looked in her direction. This surprised Jasmine Davis even further. Was it intuition? It didn’t seem like it, but if it wasn’t intuition, how else could he explain it?

As a ‘thud’ sounded, just when Finn Lewis finished looking at Jasmine Davis, a muffled noise came from behind him, followed by a man’s groan, then noises of a skirmish. However, Finn Lewis never turned his head throughout, simply walking away with people around him left feeling somewhat stunned.

The fight behind him didn’t last very long, about the time it took for Finn Lewis to walk four or five meters away before silence once again filled the air.

Finn Lewis knew without looking that the one knocked down could not possibly be Dunn Monty. If it were really Dunn Monty who was knocked down, the people around them would not be reacting as they were, but would be jeering instead. As expected, Dunn Monty and Thomas Calvin quickly caught up with Finn Lewis and continued forward.

After a few steps, Finn Lewis stopped, turned around, and walked back towards Big Bird, who was now being helped to his feet by two men. However, seeing Finn Lewis, the two men paused, until Finn Lewis squatted down by Big Bird.

Finn Lewis grinned, looking down at him and said: “You think just because I came from a primitive planet, I’ve never seen the world, right? But you’re right, I’ve not seen much of the world. Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to hurt you. Here’s some money for your treatment.”

While speaking, Finn Lewis pulled out a wad of cash from his clothes and flung it at Big Bird’s face. The cash Finn Lewis tossed was not Federation coins, but star credit. Finn Lewis originally thought that an advanced technological society would use digital currency and not have physical money. However, it turned out currency in physical form still existed.

Because it met many unique needs, such as cash transactions not suitable for electronic ones. So, even in such an advanced place as the Galactic Federation, where ‘cash’ is seldom used, it still existed.

To be precise, it wasn’t exactly ‘cash’ anymore. Even though its thickness was similar to paper money, the material was much sturdier and difficult to tear. It also contains a special chip. The touch was like paper, the appearance a light blue. The reverse side carried the entire image of the Heritage System, and the obverse displayed the image of the Capital Star of the Galactic Federation Star Region.

The highest denomination was still 100. Finn Lewis, who was just curious before he left, wanted some ‘cash’ from Zero, and Zero gave him two stacks. Now, looking at the money, Finn Lewis suddenly thought that physical money was more for show.
