Mythos Of Narcissus: Reborn As An NPC In A Horror VRMMO

Chapter 128: Strong Body, Idiot Mind

Chapter 128: Strong Body, Idiot Mind

"The Revenant might be displaying a sudden lack of urge to communicate at the current moment, but don't worry about that." A playful chuckle could be heard from the other side of the two-ways communication channel. "He is actually being very talkative right now, but only on my side."

"So, it's more of a two versus one scenario for the Drowned Revenant then," I said while doing my best to entertain the Revenant that was vehemently trying to murder me, "But does the immortality curse on me still remain or is it left untouched? My head is a having a lack of brain cell at the moment."

"Ah, the immortality curse remains. You're still the main target and victim of the Revenant. In fact, my interference mattered not in that regard, since there isn't supposed to be anything that can interfere with the whole dueling process that you're participating in."

"So, you're saying that you're not even supposed to be able to help me? Hence, the Revenant could barely do anything about it?"

"Correct, darling~" The sounds of multiple spells winding up were seeping into my ears from Kuzunoha's side. "Looks like you're still in the correct path of mind for someone lacking the appropriate brain cells to do so~"

"Is my current idiotic state of mind curable?" I said while running backward with my eyes latched on the Drowned Revenant trying to accumulate all sorts of destructive energy into his harpoon sword. "I'm worried that I can't lead my bastion anymore. Thinking about it makes me sad…"

"Hmm… Don't worry, it's only temporary. Though, I can't help you much as of now since the damage happens to be bound to both the mind and the physical vessel, something that can only be interacted with when we're in the same plane of existence."

"So it's not permanent, yay~!"

"... I like this version of you better. Can we make it permanent?"

After accumulating enough destructive energy, the Revenant concentrated all of those vile calamities onto the tip of his spiraling harpoon sword before ascending to the clear white sky like a deity bringing doom to the world.

"Well, I won't be nice to Kuzunoha anymore then. Hmph!"

"Aww, you're so adorable when you're dumb~" Her mocking tone of voice finally dissipated into something more serious. "I'm finishing up the final preparation. I will be back in a few minutes~!"

"Okay~!"

I guess it was warranted that Kuzunoha couldn't do anything to my brain damage, since she didn't mention anything about the physical change that was happening to me.

This made me wonder about how my face looked, since the shape felt different when I tried to get a feel of it with my hands.

In this realm., there were barely any reflective surfaces. The sea below sucked any reflection like a wall of moving cement, and there wasn't a single part of the Revenant's armor that wasn't tainted by all sorts of seafaring-related problems.

AAAA- I wanted to see what my face looked like! This is excruciating, torturing, mind-breaking!

Speaking of mind-breaking, it seemed like there would be more things that break if that descending Revenant hit me with his current menacing attack.

After all, not only that the sea was spiraling again, but the sky also got affected and began to convulse and spin alongside the destructive energy radiated by the Revenant's harpoon sword.

Hmm, I don't think that I would be able to avoid it.

Should I block it with my hand that was infused with the Wraithgrip? But punching the attack again seemed redundant.

All of the wound that was inflicted to me would be healed, and I got the immortality curse that prevented me from directly croaking.

Stay connected with mvl

And any further brain damage I got would be healed later after Kuzunoha was done with her part.

Wait, speaking about healing, why didn't I feel the same kind of painful and rejecting sensation with my Valtherion's Blood? Did it get deactivated?

Hmm, regardless, I felt zero motivation to retaliate right now.

The Revenant seemed to be aiming directly at my head—if only I could grow a pair of horns similar to Verina, so that I could just sway my neck to parry attack.

And just as I imagined that ridiculous scenario, I felt an itching sensation on both sides of my head.

Immediately after, my mind began to get swarmed by all sorts of bodily notifications, informing me of the change that was about to happen.

Because all of a sudden, a pair of horns made from the same constitution with my bone began to grow. They rose upward but began to curve inward toward the center of my head, before jutting down a single barb and another pointy spike skyward like the tip of a hook before the two of them collided.

Of all things that my own body visualized directly into my mind, it was the growth of my new horns and not the shape of my current face.

"This is a really weird sequence of events."

Seemingly fueled with rage, the Revenant spun his harpoon, churning the spiraling energy into an even erratic tidal wave, all before slamming the edge of his anger onto the top of my head.

Which coincidentally, was caught with a pair of my new jutting horns.

"Ah."

An epic clash of power ensued between the almighty power of the Revenant's eccentric weapon and the tip of my newly-grown horns.

As the Mr. Revenant himself pushed his weapon down with all his might, I just stood there while slowly being submerged into the turmoiling sea, letting the raw strength and integrity of my horn to deal with the chaotic power of the master of this world.

"Waah, I'm drowning."

I could feel my own skull being pressed down into my neck, but I found it entertaining to maintain my pose like a powerhouse who adapted to the strength of her enemy in the game of tug of war.

Though, it didn't change the fact that I began to get forced back into the depth of the sea.

"Can't I just… not drown?"
