Mythos Of Narcissus: Reborn As An NPC In A Horror VRMMO

Chapter 127: A Sign Of Evolution, Reconstruction?

Chapter 127: A Sign Of Evolution, Reconstruction?

Slightly annoyed by the attack attempt, I moved my hand to grab the anchor. To add to my already confused surprise, my hands moved with much higher speed and higher strength. Unlike back then, my nails were digging the surface of the plague-steel anchor like they were malleable plastic.

The Drowned Revenant appeared to be holding the amount of shock as I was.

For an immediate reaction, the Revenant let go of its anchor sword as it created enough distance between us.

Immediately after, his hand weaved the air and summoned a brandishing new weapon. An amalgamation of a giant sword and a harpoon.

If I wasn't wrong, the description of the Qliphoth Object mentioned that its rightful weapon was a harpoon sword all along, and not an anchor sword.

[Description: Clad in corroded armor coated with barnacles and seaweed, the Drowned Revenant drips with brackish water as he trudges forward. His sword is a massive, jagged harpoon, stained with salt and rust. The air around him is thick with the stench of rotting fish, and he brings with him a creeping tide of seawater that slowly floods the ground, making movement sluggish and difficult.

As he fights, water constantly seeps from his armor, drowning the battlefield in his wake. His presence causes a deep pressure to settle in the lungs of those nearby, as if they're slowly sinking into the abyss]

Yup, it was supposed to be a harpoon sword.

"Well, it doesn't look like I have any use of this deformed ugly anchor."

Not really feeling the intensity of this fight, I just tossed the anchor sword deep into the ocean right where it belonged.

The Drowned Revenant appeared to be more ready than ever, but I couldn't help but feel dejected and lonely.

Now that I thought about it, I felt that there was a substantial change to my body aside from new resiliency and immense strength that I gained.

For one, I became bigger and taller. Like, substantially taller.

I didn't know the right numbers, but just basing my own height with the size of the Drowned Revenant as the constant, I should be around somewhere beyond 210 centimeters, which was even taller than when I was still a dude called Lothair.

I also noticed that I could no longer look down and expect to see my feet and anything more since my sight had been massively blocked. Thankfully, I didn't feel any kind of strain on my shoulder, or yet, especially with how bodaciously massive these 'obstacles' were.

There was also a shift of color on my precious, formerly golden locks. I couldn't really determine the hue with the weird lighting of this world. My hair had also absurdly grown to a very crazy length to the point where a huge chunk of it was on the surface of that disgusting water.

"Ah." The Revenant unleashed a new kind of devastating attack at me, but I couldn't care much about it beyond merely avoiding it, something that was successful on my part, thanks to the newly acquired immense power that I got. "I'm not ready yet, wait for a little bit."

There were a lot of questions and actions that I wanted to perform right now, but my muddied mind had no motivation whatsoever unless I was forced to do it in any case scenario.

Did being tortured made me significantly lazy? I doubt so.

[Consciousness: 25%]

"Oh, this was definitely the cause." I also noticed that my voice became much more mature than what I already was, still with the same raspiness of a chain-smoker. "Hmm, what was I trying to do again?"

I wanted to scour more information on my detail screen to look for clues on the changes on my body, but even trying to think about doing it felt annoyingly unnecessary.

But to summarize, many aspects of my body changed, and my current behavior was the side effect of being struck or damaged by the Drowned Revenant directly.

It should be temporary at best, right? Kuzunoha should have a way to cure it.

I didn't want to think much about it. Or, to be exact, I couldn't think much about it, as if my brain processing power was limited by a certain threshold.

"Noe waey~"

But truth to behold, I still had the mental capacity to notice that Kuzunoha's influence began to strengthen.

Wait, in what method did I measure that? My buoyancy spell remained the same. There wasn't a great number or sign of interference, and I definitely didn't see her randomly buffing my Stormhook again for absolutely no reason.

Regardless, the Drowned Revenant was still as angry and dangerous to me right now. Like, he was currently in the sky, hurling his scary harpoon sword that was coated in some sort of spiraling dark energy.

Huwaa~ I didn't have any motivation to dodge nor move from my position.

At this point, there was only one thing that I could do.

Throwing a punch directly at the spiral of doom.

"Hiyah!"

The power and momentum behind the dark-drilling harpoon was so immense, that a huge area of the formerly calm sea was greatly stirred and sinking into the depth, like the surface of a watery dough when the cook began using the electric mixer to stir the content.

And to no longer of my surprise, my basic direct punch was able to clash toe-to-toe with that ridiculous display of power.

"Uhm, maybe I should do something beyond extending my hand like this."

So I sidestepped out of the mortal-harm way. In that moment of zero-self preservation, I saw the world move ten times slower than I used to experience.

The Drowned Revenant looked much more vulnerable because of it. Without giving it much thought, I jumped from the surface of the water and just threw another basic direct punch at the Revenant's face.

The fearsome and loathsome Drowned Revenant got greatly staggered before he stabilized himself, and created a great distance away from me once again.

"Darling, can you hear me?" The voice that I wanted to hear for the past few moments began ensnaring itself into my ears once again. "The Drowned Revenant displayed a great resistance all of a sudden, so I apologize for seemingly abandoning my support just now~"

Yay, Kuzunoha is back~! I missed her so much~!!
