Chapter 144: The World Dominated by Parasites

“I’m…back at the System World.” Compass Carburettor looked around, noticing that he was within the familiar forest. But, only the forest was familiar, the place wasn’t.

He looked around, failing to spot any landmarks that he had seen before. But, he didn’t have the freedom of time to think about that, hurriedly sprinting away from the place. That was the reason he had shot a bullet into the portal in the first place.

It was to arrive at the System World before the Dungeon Master arrived, thereby escaping to avoid angering the respective System. He didn’t wish to make his existence as a System Slayer be known by other Systems.

That would only result in endless headaches. Moreover, the Dungeon Master was a powerful individual, capable of annihilating dozens of Transcendents on his own. So, the System supporting him should have been at a rather high level.

As Compass Carburettor had witnessed the war first hand, he was aware that he wouldn’t be able to save the Dungeon Master from the clutches of his System, not like he had such an intention in the first place.

As he sprinted through the forest, he suddenly heard the surprised shouts from the Dungeon Master.

Followed by it were his wails as his System began to exit his body. Compass Carburettor didn’t wait to observe the situation, sensing through his danger sense that the Dungeon Master’s System was at least around Level 30s.

It was an opponent he couldn’t even think of going against for the time being. So, he ran at his fastest speed, proceeding about a route where he didn’t sense any danger signals. He first planned to gather his bearing in a safe place before deciding on the second world to proceed into.

After arriving at a safe spot, Compass Carburettor closed his eyes, failing to sense any danger signals in his vicinity. The only ones he sensed were a couple of Systems far away. They only felt weak relative to the ones he felt at the start.

In reality, even they were beyond what he could handle. But since they were far away, he would be safe.

He looked around, noticing a relatively larger tree beside. At first glance, it resembled a banyan. And, the prop roots that dangled from its branches had touched the ground, rooting themselves before growing in girth.

And, this had been done a lot of times, creating thick vegetation at the place. But, the best thing of them all was the fact that he could hide within them, treating it as his hideout. The entrance was only narrow enough for his human form to squeeze through. And the entirety formed a closed dome for him to hide within.

‘I can rest here for the time being.’ Thinking as such, Compass Carburettor entered it, noticing the roots of the bamboo tree had formed a platform for him to be seated upon. He then observed the interior of the hideout, ‘The area inside is spacious enough for me to even sleep peacefully.’

But, he had no intentions to do that. He was still unaware of whether he could find any food at the place or not. After all, he hadn’t seen any fruits until now.

“I’ll worry about it later. First,” He inspected himself, sighing as he concluded, ‘My Warble is still with me, thankfully. And, my Darlac reserves remain the same.’

[Name: Compass Carburettor, Domino Plottopia]

[Race: Haggon (Spirit)]

[Physique: Health (Level 10), Strength (Level 10), Dexterity (Level 10), Stamina (Level 10), Intelligence (Level 10), Cognition (Level 10), Natural Recovery (Level 10), Five Senses (Level 10), Resting (Level 10)]

[Personal Fragment: Anthozoa, Secret Society]

[Arms: 5]

[Core Skills: Slave Harem (Level 10)]

[Arms: Minor Healing (Level 10), Intoxicating Fragrance (Level 10), Overdrive (Level 8)]

[Darlac: 5317]

Anything that he could use his Mental Energy upon, he had already used them, bringing all his Skills to their maximum levels. ‘Unfortunately, Overdrive is only Level 8. If only the Slave Harem System had obtained its Level 10 version.’

He lamented a bit before frowning, ‘But now, despite having so much Darlac, I cannot use it. The Armaments I had carried on me have remained behind in the Darble World. And without reaching the state of Transcendence, I have no method to actually make use of my Darlac reserves now.’

He then observed his appearance, frowning, ‘I am currently naked.’

He sighed, noticing the bloody state of his body and the pungent stench he exuded. It was because when he was killed, he had returned to his Haggon form before instantly assuming his human form. And in his hurry to remain undetected, he had plunged into the pile of corpses, failing to obtain any clothes.

After all, the Haggon form was at a height of six metres. It was a hulking figure that would become apparent when it appeared. So all along, he had to position himself at places where even if he returned to his Haggon form, there won’t be anyone around him to notice it.

Thankfully, he managed to somehow pull it off.

But now, he had to deal with the stench and his blood-covered self. ‘I’ll take a bath in the next world I enter.’

‘Now, my only means of attack is Anthozoa. I have to be a bit careful.’ Now that he had gathered his bearings and had collated his gains, Compass Carburettor got up, intending to exit the hideout when he was stunned, rooted to the spot in shock.

Twenty metres before him stood a System, currently bleeding as it dragged its body towards the hideout. It seemed this hideout was something it had created to reside within. As a System didn’t need anything, there was nothing present at the place, it caused him to misunderstand that it was a naturally formed hideout.

The System resembled a crystal in appearance, shaped like an octagonal cylinder. It possessed two tentacles, one per each of the top and bottom surface areas, using them to drag itself over the ground.

Suddenly, a mysterious energy exited the tree and entered its body, causing it to laugh immediately, “Finally, I have accumulated enough energy to bridge a path.”

It seemed its injuries prevented it from sensing his location. Rather, once the energy exited the tree, Compass Carburettor noticed a faint layer of energy shrouding the hideout, realising that this was the reason the System hadn’t sensed his position yet.

It seemed to have been something it had created to shield itself. And now, he was taking advantage of it to spy on its actions.

The System didn’t seem to mind its injuries, grinning as it muttered in excitement, “After fighting with countless Systems, I obtained enough information to complete my deduction.”

“And now, I’ll head towards the alternate universe where entities similar to Systems exist in primitive forms…”

“The World Dominated by Parasites!”
