Chapter 143: Returning to the System World

“This has become boring.” A man sighed, seated on a throne that was situated in the middle of a lush, grass-covered land. He gazed at the pile of corpses that lay before him, gazing at the faces of fifteen people that lay at the front, now bloody, a mangled state of their past selves.

Followed by a snort, he spoke, “And you call yourselves Transcendents. Too weak!”

Though after a moment, he sighed, disinterested as he snapped his finger once. Suddenly, a massive worm-like creature drilled out of the ground and began to gobble through the pile of corpses that had formed a hill.

Dungeon Master!

He went by such a title once he took control of the Level 5 Dungeon of the Great Rateuk Empire—Keworm Dungeon. At the start, he had been excited at the prospect of gaining control of a Level 5 Dungeon.

It came with innumerous risks from both the Dungeon Monsters and the Great Rateuk Empire. But over time, pilling victories one over another, he had climbed his way to the top. And now, he had become invincible.

When he was first proclaimed as the strongest Transcendent, it was still a novel feeling, the feeling of standing at the summit of the world. But over time, he no longer faced any threats or challenges. And like that, decades spanned past with his heart rate never once accelerating.

He came to miss the feeling of his blood boiling from myriad emotions that he had in his youth. And most of all, he was bored and had lost interest in everything. Moreover, it had been a decade since his System last spoke to him, for reasons unknown to him.

Suddenly, the familiar sound resounded in his mind once again.

[Ding!]

[Returning to the System World]

“Take care of everything!” Compass Carburettor bode farewell, taking the seat atop a Transcendent Zekken that began to fly immediately. All his plans had been completed.

Once their memories were wiped out, Princess Raecha and Rikune were dropped off at the Heroica Empire while General Artica was returned to the Entropica Empire. As her memories were perfectly wiped out, she was back to her original self.

Even though she felt it was odd that she couldn’t remember the details of the past three months, Ephemella told her the reason that he had written to her in a letter. There were two letters actually, one addressed to her personally, and one addressed to her officially.

And accompanying the official letter was an Armament with five States. It was to be stated as the reward that General Artica had risked her life for and obtained at the cost of losing three months of her memories.

This official letter was proof of her actions, stamped by the Secret Society. There was only the symbol of Secret Society on it. And to those in charge of the Kingdom, they would have at least seen a couple of people praying to this symbol stealthily.

So, it was more than enough authenticity. After all, it was circulated to be an organisation existing in the shadows to maintain the peace of the world. Moreover, since everything was chalked up to be related to Spirits, it created an air of mystery and prevented General Artica from worrying about it too much.

Compass Carburettor had created similar scenarios for Princess Raecha and Rikune, giving them some treasures accordingly. As for Wakuta, she had originally been roaming the continent in search of something related to Spirits.

So, she was left alone in the location where she had met Regriel for the first time. Upon waking up, she was confused for a moment before she began to move. After all, she wasn’t in a city and didn’t know of human customs or the date period they followed, since Spirits didn’t have such a custom.

So, she didn’t even realise that she had lost three months’ worth of her memories.

As for Compass Carburettor, once he completed raising his Darlac reserves to 5011, he was trained nonstop by Hekatra in the ways of fighting.

During the six months when he was meditating, she fed him all the information he had to know about Darlac, Darble, Armament, Puppet, Warrior, Puppeteer, and attaining the state of Transcendence.

She also told him about everything related to his Warble, providing him enough knowledge to wield his abilities properly. As he was already in a state of rest, Compass Carburettor didn’t even require more than an hour of sleep per day.

So, he was constantly learning a lot of information. And once the process was completed and he had a massive reserve of Darlac, she began to train him. Since he wouldn’t even be tired until his Darlac reserves reach zero, he fought her nonstop, getting pummelled without rest.

He trained for another five months when the news from his scouts prompted him to stop training.

“If I have the opportunity in the future, I’ll return here once again. I have no idea if your prayers would reach me when I am in a different world. But if I do, I’ll reply immediately. So, you’ll know.” Compass Carburettor bode everyone farewell, setting off from Mohart Dungeon as the Zekken he was seated atop flew nonstop, crossing the continent before flying towards the neighbouring continent.

They only had to stop in-between one time for the Zekken to replenish its energy. Thanks to the energy pellets on hand, it was easy to do so before they continued forth with their journey. Four days after they had begun their journey, they landed on the outskirts of the Great Rateuk Empire’s capital.

The Zekken returned after that while Compass Carburettor entered the city, making use of the channels already established by the members of Secret Society to infiltrate the raid army that the Great Rateuk Empire had conducted to kill the Dungeon Master once and for all.

The Dungeon Master was too powerful, easily annihilating the army. Compass Carburettor too was killed along the way. But, he had timely hid behind the chaotic attacks and the pile of corpses, returning to human form within an instant of his Haggon form’s appearance.

He then patiently waited among the pile of corpses, sighing in relief when his surroundings suddenly turned monotone, a sign that the System in the Dungeon Master had decided to return to the System World.

And the moment it condensed a portal, he shot a bullet at it first, disappearing from the place.
