Chapter 3247 The Paths
"I understand the control part," Rifindio took a deep breath before saying. "I could even accept the 'merge' part, although I don't know if such a thing is possible. However, eat? How can you eat space?"
"Even if you ask me, I can't give you a definitive answer," the Abyssal Soul spoke. "Abyssal Beasts are born with this innate ability. In the same way you ask me how I can eat space, I can ask you the opposite. Why can't you and the other races eat space? It is just natural for us. We are born of space itself."
Roan pondered a bit and didn't feel it was too ridiculous. Many races weren't born through reproduction, especially spirits. A very big part of them was born of the conditions in the environment they live. There was also the Essence Race, which was born from Essence Energy. It's just that Essence Energy is several times rarer, and so is their race. Huban was such an example.
"I see..." Rifindio couldn't come up with words to refute the Abyssal Soul. "Let's leave it aside for now, then. What about our bloodline? Why were you so focused on us? Our Camazotz Bat Race isn't exactly impressive with Space-related power, you know?"
"It's not about the power your bloodline possesses, but your long-lasting interaction with Chaos Energy. My race's origin dates to the time when most Universes were still just huge agglomerations of Chaos Energy. It's to the point that we naturally emanate some of it on our own. Your Camazotz Bat Race seems to have been living in close contact with it for a long time. Simply put, your race's soul is quite a good fit."
Rifindio obviously knew what the Abyssal Soul was talking about. Triaglia, the Universe Owner, was a Regal Camazotz bat. She had direct access to the Chaos Origin Source of this Universe. Rifindio himself never got access to Chaos Energy, but he was still a descendant of Triaglia, so he carried these traits from his parents and those who came before them. The Abyssal Soul Continued. "But don't think of yourself as something hugely special. I could also take control over other races like I tried with those two guys who captured me. It's just that I would need to put in a lot more effort, which wasn't necessary with Duere there. I was truly lucky in that regard."
Rean, who was still flying, couldn't help but smile. He had mentioned exactly that. He truly thought the Abyssal Soul was extremely lucky that Duere was the one to get near its Dimensional Realm.
Rifindio sighed in relief in the end. He was curious if his race had some relation with this Abyssal Soul or something like that. But in the end, it was nothing but a coincidence. "Alright. That's all I wanted to know."
"That means it is my time to ask questions," Roan immediately took the reins. "When we were inside that Dimensional Realm of yours, we found a bunch of out ruins, and especially a monument depicting the solar system formation you tried to create. Xutrin tried to create the same thing, but that wasn't solely his idea, right? It was you who gave him the initial content of those formations, wasn't it?"
"Why asking something you are already certain about?" The Abyssal Soul asked back. "Well, whatever. Yes, it was I who gave him the initial concepts and some old blueprints. Xutrin's group, however, was the one who improved those concepts and added the Circuitry Formation Methodology into them. I myself don't know much about such things."
That answered another question for Roan. Marev that Xutrin added him to the process of creation of that formation, but it seems like it wasn't really Xutrin's original idea.
"What was that formation's original purpose?" Roan continued. "I find it hard to believe it was made to help you escape your prison. And yes, I'm aware you are locked inside that crack in space in that fragile Dimensional Realm."
The Abyssal Soul Shard went silent again. "It's meaningless to talk about who lived in those ruins since they have perished a long time ago. As for the real purpose of that formation, the answer is in the words you just spoke."
Everyone got confused except for Rean and Zangeshu. But since Rean wasn't there, Zangeshu spoke instead. "The Dimensional Realm. That formation's original purpose was to gather the Spiritual Energy of the several planets of our solar system to sustain that Dimensional Realm's stability. That Dimensional Realm isn't unstable because of some calamity, but because the Formation used to sustain it is no more. Yet, it still exists, showing that whoever created it really knew what they were doing."
The Abyssal Soul confirmed Zangeshu's words. "There you have it. If you had spent more time in there, you would have noticed sooner or later how gigantic that Dimensional Realm is. Thus, the Spiritual Energy of the various planets. It might be sustaining itself now, but it will eventually collapse someday. Alright, any other question? I'm trying to be as cooperative as possible here, so cut me some slack later."
'Roan,' Rean used their connection to speak directly. 'Do you remember the Abyssal Soul Paths? Ask him about them.'
Roan intended to do exactly that. "Can you tell me more about the Abyssal Paths?"
Once again, the Abyssal Soul heard something it didn't expect to come out of anyone's mouth. "Are you sure you don't know about my race?"
"Just answer the question," Roan pressed.
"Abyssal Paths are exactly as the name suggests, paths. To be more specific, they are paths connecting to the various homes or other locations of importance to our Abyssal Races back in the day. Pretty much only we can use them. The best thing about these is that they can connect two points in space and swap them around. They are harmless to our Abyssal Beast Race, but for anyone else, it is pretty much suicide."
The moment the word 'swap' appeared, the twins' group thought the same thing.
'The Great Void Shifter Formation!' (Chapter 3181)
