Chapter 1161: The Queen Looms (And IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT)

"You were able to dodge that?"

"Were you… sent by one of my brothers, or were you sent by the lady of this house?"

"Tch."

This was a shocking surprise for the assassin. She had already read the information given to her, and she had also done her own investigation—her target was supposed to be a good for nothing noble, not even capable of taking care of himself.

So, why was he now parrying each of her attacks like it was nothing? She could have just shrugged off the first one and considered it luck, but no. As soon as she focused on Louis's face, it was obvious that he wasn't even having a hard time.

He even looked… bored.

This was a mistake.

Everything she knew about the target was wrong, and the only viable route to take was to… retreat.

And without thinking of it any further, the assassin grabbed a pair of smoke bombs and almost instantly filled the room with haze. The haze did not last long, however, as Gary swung his sword, fanning the smoke away… but the assassin was already gone.

While all of this was happening, Riley was casually watching on the side, almost done eating all the… organic snacks provided for them on the table. And it also turned out that the assassin was not gone, but was actually behind Riley, the dagger in her hand now planted on his neck.

"Try to do anything funny and I'll slit your companion's throat faster than you can blink," she muttered as she pressed the knife against Riley's skin even deeper, "Now, here's what's going to happen—you'll drop your weapon, and then you will follow me and your friend out of the manor as calm and peaceful as possible. As for you…"

The assassin leaned her lips closer to Riley's ears, "I don't know who you are, but you better not do anything stupid. I've killed people for less."

"What a coincidence, then." And even with a knife on his throat, Riley continued to put another snack in his mouth, chewing casually as a small smile crawled on his face, "I have also killed people for less, Female Assassin."

"I didn't tell you to speak." The assassin hissed at Riley as she grabbed him by the arm and lifted him up, "Now, let's go. We're going out the window. If you—"

"You are definitely not from this manor." Before the assassin could even push Riley, she was cut off by Louis who just glanced at her for a few moments more before shaking his head and then just sitting on the bed, "And you also did not follow me to this city, because then you would know about what happened along the road—were you waiting for me somewhere in the city? Because if it was any of the latter…

…you would know that you're currently pointing a knife at a man directly picked by this world as a Hero. You're already dead, Madam."

"What…?" The assassin instinctively loosened her grip on Riley's tone. And not just for a moment, but an entire 5 seconds—plenty of time for Riley to escape and do something, and the assassin realized this too. But instead of leaping away, he just turned around to face her; his eyes looking down at her without any expression or obvious intent at all…

…he was just looking at her, menacingly.

And without even uttering another word, she swung the knife at his neck… only for her hand to turn numb almost instantly. The knife also didn't survive, shattering like dried rotten wood.

"What…" And while the assassin was currently in the midst of processing what she just witnessed, Riley raised his hand. The assassin flinched and quickly leaped back, but Riley wasn't actually attacking him at all, no.

He just raised his hand to fix his clothes, which were slightly disheveled when she lifted him up earlier.

"It would seem that I have interrupted what you two were doing," Riley said, letting out a small sigh as he stepped to the side, gesturing to the two to continue, "Please, do not let my presence disrupt anything and kill each other again, although it is already quite obvious that you are no match for Louis, Assassin. So…

…What are you going to do now?"

Meanwhile, in a completely different dimension, far away from Riley's fantasy escapade, a streak of green was currently flying through the expanse of space. Her rage, almost palpable to anyone who can see her from thousands and thousands of miles away.

She was running, running through the darkness carrying a face that would scare even the creator himself.

But soon, the dark expanse of space turned colorful, which made the Queen of Evaniels stop in her tracks.

"...Where is this place?" Trickles of lightning seeped from her eyes as she scanned the colorful expanse in front of her. Her question did not go unanswered for long, however, as her eyes narrowed when she saw several ships slowly approaching her position—ships from the Order of Nothing.

Well, they weren't actually slowly approaching her, their ships were moving beyond light speed, but Vania had all the time in the universe to narrow her eyes and judge them already.

And soon, as her perception of time turned normal, a large ship flew forward.

[You are in the territory of the Order of—]

But before the announcement could even fully vibrate through the colorful expanse, the other ships aside from the largest one suddenly shattered into millions of pieces.

As for Queen Vania, she was now floating right in front of the colossal ship; her face only inches away from hitting its metals.

"I can feel it…" She then whispered, causing the shields of the colossal ship to ripple, "...I can feel the presence of a god from you people—bring me to them… or I kill every living thing in this weird place."

**IMPORTANT AUTHOR NOTES**

First of all, to those who have privileged chapters, I apologize for not being as active as before. I've been sick a lot lately, and there's also the issue with my house being wrecked by the typhoon.

I've been thinking a lot, and I've also discussed it with the other privilege readers from the discord(If you are a privilege reader but not in the discord, please do join as I have very important news).

And that news is… I am planning to reboot Villain Retirement. Looking back the last hundred chapters, I noticed that I've been writing so many What-If scenarios… and the thing is, I think I want to remake Villain Retirement completely. I would love to keep it grounded longer, with Riley Ross just messing with people's lives and having fun... and the convulated plot would only be a side.

And if there are still people here in the Privilege, please join the discord so I could make you a beta reader directly. I will still be updating this, but not regularly—and if the remake works, I will end this storyline.

The new storyline would start before Riley became Darkday, and then maybe will witness him become Darkday. Basically… just, please do join the discord!
