Chapter 55: Arash on the Wall.jpg

Watching Arash being shot by Tom with a beautifully arched trajectory, and then crashing into the wall of a distant wooden house, assuming a pose as if proclaiming something grand.

"What in the blazes?!"

Looking down at the bullet-like thing stuck on his intact breastplate and feeling the pain spreading throughout his body, Arash muttered to himself in astonishment.

It felt as if his breastplate was a part of him, the pain was unbearable. He almost screamed out loud just now. As a warrior, he shouldn't even furrow his brow no matter how intense the pain. However, this unexpected attack that broke through his defenses left him in excruciating pain.

"Hmm? Why can't I get down?" Although Arash was still recovering, he was prepared to get off the wall in case Tom launched another attack of that magnitude. It would be dangerous.

But at this moment, he suddenly realized in bewilderment that he couldn't get down, no matter how hard he tried. It was as if his hands and feet were stuck to the wall, unable to unclasp.

"Oh great hero, what are you doing, oh great hero!" Looking at Arash stuck to the wall, covered in blood, Gudako shouted loudly, hands on her chest.

Seeing Arash not responding for a while, Gudako had tears welling up in her eyes, and with a deep affection, she said, "It seems... the great hero is done for. In this situation, we can only squeeze out his remaining worth... No, under the utmost grief, we can only make him deliver one final blow!"

After speaking, Gudako sadly covered her mouth with her left hand, seemingly not wanting anyone to see her "sad expression," and slowly extended her right hand forward, preparing to use Command Seals to increase the explosive power.

"No, no, no, senpai, what are you doing!" Seeing Gudako seemingly wanting to sacrifice Arash, Mashu quickly intervened in panic, saying,"Arash-san is still alive and well. Please don't act recklessly!"

"But..."

Seeing Gudako still trying to feign sentimentality, Mashu stopped her again, saying, "But what... Senpai, please stop overacting!"

After speaking, Mashu pressed down on Gudako's hand that was shimmering with the radiance of Command Seals.

If Gudako really used this Command Seals, the recently summoned Arash-san, who had only been here for a few minutes, would immediately die. That would be too cruel, wouldn't it?!

"Eh? But... you see, Arash is almost done," Gudako said immediately, pointing directly at Arash behind her.

"No matter what, it's too much to use it and throw it away!" Mashu responded.

"It's okay, Mashu-chan. We can just summon Arash again. We can always use Arash whenever we want," Gudako said, embracing Mashu and continuously stroking her head with her right hand, using words of manipulation.

Feeling Gudako's touch, Mashu's consciousness became unclear once again. "Ah... Senpai, in this situation... please don't..."

"It's fine, as long as Arash uses his Noble Phantasm, everything will be fine," Gudako said, leaning closer with her face and continuing to manipulate.

"No, Senpai, it's already here." Although Mashu was about to succumb to drowsiness, she caught sight of Tom, who was very close to their side. Mashu immediately raised her shield, successfully resisting Gudako's manipulation for the first time.

Seeing that Mashu seemed unyielding, Gudako released her hold on Mashu, and the starry gaze vanished instantly. "Tch."

Locking eyes with the cat in front of her, Mashu discarded all the contempt she had because of the previous feeble attack. When she saw Arash being shot and thrown onto the wall, she recalled the terror of Tom from the videos, as well as the despair of him effortlessly defeating two Servants.

However, when Tom approached Mashu and saw her suddenly holding up a super-sized shield, his expression changed. Clearly, he realized that he couldn't handle an opponent of such size.

As a cat, he was clearly no match for this massive adversary. It was like a boxing match, where it was impossible for a mini lightweight cat to challenge a heavyweight fighter in front of him.

Tom's big gun immediately became limp, as if it had turned into taffy, hanging downward. Even Tom himself felt intimidated. He had been extremely angry and furious for several seconds, but when his bloodlust subsided and he realized the gap between himself and his opponent, Tom promptly backed down.

If they hadn't witnessed that terrifying strike just now, nobody would consider this thing a genuine weapon.

"Alas?" Mashu was preparing to defend against Tom's upcoming attack when she suddenly noticed that the once sturdy rifle had become limp and droopy. Her gaze immediately shifted to the weapon, her face filled with confusion.

Seeing Mashu's attention on her rifle, Tom quickly forced a smile, trying to appear innocent as he tremblingly hid the gun behind him.

But this rifle was truly disappointing. It barely stayed firm for a second when concealed, quickly losing its rigidity. The barrel dangled to the side, perfectly appearing within Mashu's field of vision. It seemed as though the barrel had a mind of its own, deliberately choosing to reveal itself to Mashu, even though it had several other directions in which it could have dangled.

Observing Tom's actions, Mashu felt bewildered for a moment. Suddenly, she seemed to realize something. Could it be that this Schrdinger's cat... was afraid of her?

"Ah-woof!" Mashu nodded, raising her shield with both hands and uttering a shout in an attempt to test her hypothesis.

Upon hearing this shout, Tom immediately shrank further, even starting to fade in color. Indeed, he was beginning to lose color, with droplets of gray paint falling to the ground, staining it gray. Tom himself transformed into a pure white cat.

"Ah-woof!!!" Mashu, witnessing Tom's state, clearly paused, wondering if this Schrdinger's cat was genuinely afraid of her. Or perhaps, it was undergoing a transformation? To control variables, Mashu took another step forward and shouted even louder.

"Ahem!" Tom sharply inhaled, causing the entire cat to leap half a meter into the air, remaining suspended for about two seconds. Simultaneously, all the paint on the ground flew towards Tom, reattaching to him like venom, restoring him to his original color.

"Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah!" Upon landing, Tom clutched his head in his hands and let out a desperate cry. Then, in a panic, he turned and dashed towards Bai Song's direction.

At this moment, Tom had completely lost his wits, discarding the limp elephant hunting rifle as he ran recklessly towards Bai Song.

After Tom's escape, Mashu's eyes lit up. This Schrdinger's cat truly feared her. Surely, their compatibility was poor, which resulted in Tom being unable to defeat her.

Recalling Tom's earlier bullet, it had hit the invincible Arash, causing him to be stuck to the wall. But when it struck Mashu, it was like casually spitting out a piece of chewing gum, the kind that lacks stickiness and falls off with a gentle breeze.

"Master, it seems there's no need to sacrifice Mr. Arash! I can handle it!" Mashu, gradually understanding everything, suddenly became courageous and turned back to share the good news with Gudako.

"Ah? Um..." Upon hearing Mashu's news, Gudako not only didn't feel happy but rather her face fell. She inwardly thought, 'Tsk, this rare fireworks display is being disrupted. I guess I'll have to summon Chen Gong.'

Meanwhile, Arash, who was still attempting to free himself from the wall, was taken aback upon hearing Mashu's words.

What on earth? Were they just discussing sacrificing him?
