Chapter 77 - Yu Xinyi's Smart Brain
Chapter 77 - Yu Xinyi's Smart Brain
After a long and delicious lunch with Yu Xinyi and the An family, An Luxia and Mo Han finally returned home.
Meanwhile, Yu Xinyi was on the car with An Yuchen because An Luxia had finally done something right by giving the responsibility of taking Yu Xinyi back home to An Yuchen.
Inside the car, the only sound you could hear was the sound of the cold air blowing out of the AC, and Yu Xinyi awkwardly twiddled her thumbs as she wondered whether she should say something or not. But what should she say?
Her head was down as she glanced up at An Yuchen once in a while, to find him looking straight at the road ahead. Even from the side, he was absolutely perfect in her eyes, with his tall nose and attractive face.
They drove in silence for a long time, and they were almost at her home already. Yu Xinyi finally decided that she had to say something, or else it would be way too awkward! Imagine what An Luxia would say if she told her that during the entire twenty minute car ride, she did not say a single word to her crush!
How embarrassing would that be?!
Finally, Yu Xinyi cleared her throat and smiled as she mustered up the courage to say the first thing that entered her mind, "The weather is quite nice today, isn't it."
". . ."
At once, Yu Xinyi felt like smashing her head against the window or digging a hole right underneath her feet to crawl into and hide for the rest of her entire, sad life.
She was hopeless. Out of every possible thing she could have said, why did she talk about the weather?! The horrible weather.
Since it was nearing winter, right now was the rainy season. Just while they were eating lunch, it had started to rain outside and there was still a light drizzle going on outside at the moment.
The weather was indeed very nice. Yes, quite nice.
Luckily, An Yuchen smiled softly and nodded, "Yes, I love the rainy weather."
Yu Xinyi's lips twitched in embarrassment as she looked out the window to hide her horrified expression as she squeezed out two more words, "Me too."
A few seconds later, the car came to a stop in front of an apartment building and An Yuchen looked over at Yu Xinyi, "We're here."
He bent over to the back seat and grabbed something, "Here, take this umbrella."
Yu Xinyi felt her heartbeat quicken as she quickly grabbed the umbrella and didn't even dare look into his eyes, "Thank you. Goodbye."
Then, she quickly opened the door and ran into the apartment building, not even opening up the umbrella as all she wanted to do was go home and crack open her brain to figure out what was inside.
An Yuchen watched her disappear with a faint smile on his lips, and only until she was gone did he start the car and leave.
---
Mo Han held the black umbrella with his left arm, making sure it covered all of An Luxia's body, even if it meant his right shoulder was getting wet.
As they walked into the house, Mo Han closed the umbrella and took off his shoes, "Is there something you need to tell me?"
An Luxia was bent down to untie her shoelaces, and when she heard that, she immediately froze. She knew what he meant. . . This sounded quite familiar and she wasn't going to fall into the same trap twice.
She quickly finished untying her shoelaces and taking off her shoes before standing back up with a sad expression, "Yes, yes. Something very bad happened at school today!"
Mo Han's expression lightened slightly, but he tried to hide it as he asked, "What happened?"
The two of them walked into the house together and An Luxia clung onto his arm as they walked in, pretending very hard to be sad, "Someone posted this horrible post onto the school forum about me, and everyone at school looks at me weirdly now."
Mo Han was obviously not very surprised after hearing her, and he calmly replied, "Do you need me to do something about it?"
An Luxia immediately stopped, "No, no, no! Hehehe," she smiled fakely, "You don't have to worry about it. I have it all under control."
A quick hint of disappointment flashed past Mo Han's face, but he wouldn't force her, "Okay. Remember to tell me if you ever need everything."
An Luxia straightened her back and nodded, "Yes sir!"
---
As Mo Han was taking a shower after her, An Luxia sat down at the desk and opened up her laptop, pulling up the school forum.
Even after several hours, the most popular post was still the one about her, and the number of views and comments had increased.
She clicked open the post and scrolled down to look at the comments, which she did not have time to read yet.
The most popular comment had thousands of likes, and it was a simple line:
'Person A: Don't judge a person by their appearance."
An Luxia pursed her lips out slightly, wondering what her appearance had anything to do with this article. It had absolutely no correlation, okay?! If she was ugly, would they have said, "Judge a person by their appearance."
An Luxia rolled her eyes and scrolled down, continuing to read the exploding comment section.
'Wow, I can't believe this! I had a class with her and she seemed really nice. Who would have known?! She is indeed very good at lying.'
'How can someone be so disgusting?! They are your biological parents! She deserves to die a million times!'
'But I wonder who wrote this article. . . They say this story is true but they never really provided evidence to show that they know what they are talking about.'
An Luxia grinned softly, thinking that there were at least some people out there with common sense.
However, every single reply to that comment proved that most people did not have a brain and only followed others like a blind sheep.
'Reply: Ha, I'm sure this person is An Luxia using a second account. Go die, devil!'
'Reply: This person is dumb. It's so obvious the writer of the post knows what she is talking about!'
'Reply: An Luxia, is that you? So shameless.'
'Reply: Stop trying to lie to yourself. There are pictures. It is obvious this story is true. Just admit it: An Luxia is disgusting!'
An Luxia shook her head and couldn't help but pity whoever wrote that original comment as she scrolled down to the next one.
The remaining comments that she read were all negative, either talking about how disgusting she was, or how she should go die. Of course, why should she listen to them?
After a while, she clicked out of the post and scrolled up to where she could write a post, and she clicked write. The other posts disappeared and was replaced with a white area where she could write.
An Luxia interlaced her fingers together and stretched them out before placing them onto the keyboard and beginning to type away furiously.
---
Half an hour later, she was finished and read it through once before clicking 'Post'.
Then, she closed her laptop and stood up, bringing her laptop with her to Mo Han's office, where he was doing work.
---
Li Yilan opened her eyes after taking a half an hour afternoon nap. The room was dark since she had not turned the lights on and due to the weather outside, there was little light.
She rubbed her eyes and sat up on the bed, turning around to open the lamp she had on her night stand. As she grabbed her phone, a small smile crept up her face as she thought about the comments underneath her post she had read before going to sleep.
She sat up straight on the bed and opened her phone, wanting to see if there were any new comments for her entertainment.
However, to her surprise, when she entered the school forum website, the most popular post was no longer the one she had posted.
She furrowed her eyebrows together as she reloaded the screen to make sure there wasn't a glitch. Just half an hour ago, the most popular post was still the one she wrote! Everyone was still commenting half an hour ago! There was no way it could change in such a short amount of time.
However, after reloading the screen several times, it still did not change.
The most popular post had changed. Li Yilan scrolled down and looked at the title of the post, and her face immediately fell.
'Response to post: School Beauty An Luxia is an Ungrateful Brat'
Li Yilan scoffed as she clicked into the post, wondering what the response could possibly include. Plus, who had the spare time to respond to her post, and how did it replace her post as the most popular post?!
It took a few seconds for the screen to load, and when she saw the author of the post, the grim expression on Li Yilan's face immediately disappeared.
An Luxia wrote this?!
