“Master!”

Yinghai raised his head somewhat puzzled, looking at his master, not understanding why this elder, who had raised him, was so silent at this moment.

“Venerable Cien, the Bodhisattva invites you to come…”

In the silence between master and disciple, a novice monk walked in, respectfully saluted the white-browed monk, then, suddenly he noticed the burly monk who seemed a bit strange and his eyes widened.

“Brother Yinghai, you have really returned!”

“You knew I would come back?”

Yinghai immediately sensed something was wrong. When he travelled far and wide, everyone in the Heavenly Dragon Temple knew about it. Now he had just been fished back by his master from the Nan Hua Continent. How could this novice monk seem to have known in advance?

“It’s not me, it’s the Bodhisattva. He asked me to invite Venerable Cien and you, Brother Yinghai, to come. When I left, I was worried about how to find you, Brother. I didn’t expect you to have already returned.”

The novice monk waved his hand repeatedly when he heard Yinghai’s words, his face showing delight. Now that he can lead people there; he was relieved, not worrying about being chastised by the Bodhisattva, although the Bodhisattva has never chastised anyone.

“Brother Fayuan knew I was back?”

Yinghai felt incredible. This was the place where his master practiced Buddhist law. Even if he reached out tens of thousands of miles across the sea, it couldn’t be so dramatic as to let that Bodhisattva perceive it.

“What’s so surprising? The Bodhisattva has already accomplished the Six Penetrations. Even if he knows when I make a move and brought you back to the temple, it’s not surprising.”

The white-browed old monk glanced at his disciple, his tone calm and even, as if it was nothing unusual.

“Destiny Seer Power!”

Yinghai was instantly enlightened. Then an incredible emotion rose up in his heart, and his face became particularly complex.

The Destiny Seer Power, one of the Six Penetrations, can know one’s own and the lives of all beings in the heavens and earth through infinite reincarnations and what they have done.

Of course, even the Buddha, might not be able to touch this realm. But practicing this power actually allows one to know past and future events. How much one can know depends on one’s own comprehension and cultivation.

“Not just the Destiny Seer Power, the Six Penetrations of our Buddhist Gate, the Bodhisattva has already crossed the threshold. As for what realm he has refined, I do not know.”

Seeing Yinghai make a misunderstanding, the white-browed old monk immediately corrected him.

“All of the Six Penetrations have been accomplished?!”

Yinghai’s face instantly showed astonishment and disbelief.

The Six Penetrations of Buddhism: Heavenly Eye Power, Heavenly Ear Power, Mind Reading Power, Supernatural Power, Destiny Seer Power, and Exhaustion of Taints Power.

These are what many disciples who practice Buddhism aspire for in their lives. Even if one could cultivate one of them, one could be proud enough to sit in the Dharma assembly. He had never heard of any Buddhist who had accomplished all of the Six Penetrations even before the Fruit Position, let alone be able to use them just barely crossing the threshold.

Even he, he just tried to understand the Heavenly Eye Power and the Heavenly Ear Power, slightly touching the threshold. As for more powers, he never even thought about it.

“The Bodhisattva is waiting; don’t delay. Follow me to meet him.”

The white-browed old monk didn’t give his disciple time to react and went ahead, leaving this Buddhist hall. Yinghai, with mixed emotions, closely followed behind his master to meet Brother Fayuan, whom he hadn’t seen in a long time.

Unexpectedly, in less than ten short years of separation, the brother who had defeated him and obtained the position of Bodhisattva had achieved such remarkable success. He noticed the wording his master had used to refer to him.

“Yes.”

Yinghai suppressed the distractions in his heart, walking closely behind his master. As soon as he stepped out of the Buddha Hall, there was a burst of auspicious colors, thousands layers of amity, and a magnificent Treasure Hall of Buddhism appeared before his eyes.

Within ingenious peaks and strange rocks, under the cliff, jade grass and rare flowers grew; along the winding path, purple fungus and fragrant orchids flourished; and celestial monkeys picked fruits in the peach grove. It was like a scene with gold smelted by fire; white cranes nested in pine trees and their branches, looking like smoke billowing from jade; beautifully colored pairs of phoenixes and azure luan birds created a spectacle.

Beyond that, there were golden, dazzling palace roofs patterned with mandarin ducks, and flower bricks laid with agate. East and West were filled with gem-filled palaces and towers; the South and North were adorned with countless treasure pavilions and luxurious buildings. The Divine Hall radiated with magnificent color, before the protector hall, purple flames surged, the floating pagoda appeared, the fragrance of Utpala flowers permeated the air.

This place was so majestic that it rivaled heaven itself, where clouds leisurely passed and days stretched long. In this earthly paradise, mortal concerns could not intrude, and it would remain intact after countless eons.

In such a mysterious landscape, the master and the disciple had already become accustomed to the extraordinary as they ascended to the peak of Ling Mountain, seeing Upasakas lined up under the pine forest and virtuous people gathered amidst the green cypresses.

“The venerable one, please come this way!”

The elderly monk with white eyebrows remained serene, his gaze straight ahead as he strode towards the majestic treasure hall atop the mountain. However, the monk, Yinghai, who closely followed him, couldn’t help but frown deeply.

He had already noticed the Diamond Protectors and the Kalan Messengers, all arrayed in the treasure hall with such pomp and pageantry, which far exceeded the grandeur any Buddhist disciple ought to have. Even the arrival of Buddha could not match such a display.

Upon stepping into the hall and seeing the Buddhist disciple, dressed in moon-white monk robes and sitting upright on the high platform, Yinghai’s overwhelming discomfort reached its zenith.

For the face of this disciple resembled the boy who had severely injured him to the brink of death by almost seventy percent; he could easily mistake them for siblings or direct brothers.

According to what he knew, although the current Buddhist disciple of the temple was from the mundane world, he was an only child in his family with no siblings. Yinghai, who had been rebounded by the Six Paths of Reincarnation Divine Power, refused to believe it was just a coincidence.

How could such a coincidence exist in the world? The teenager from Nan Hua Continent, held a high ‘Fruit Position’. Even despite being the incarnate of Heavenly Dragon, Yinghai struggled to shake it off, and only ended up suffering the consequences himself.

“I pay my respects to the Buddhist disciple. May I know why you have summoned me?”

What made Yinghai truly absurd was witnessing an event that almost shattered his slowly healing Zen Heart: his deeply respected master was actually bowing and paying tribute to the disciple seated on the high platform, displaying a demeanor of complete obedience.

During these years when he had left in anger due to the dispute over the position of the Buddhist disciple and travelled far and wide, what exactly had happened? When did the Buddhist disciple of the Heavenly Dragon Temple gain such a revered position that he had no knowledge of?

“I heard that Junior Brother Yinghai has returned from his travels, so I wanted to meet you. Brother, would you share the experiences and observations from your travels in Nan Hua Continent with the monks?”

Atop the high platform, the young monk still had an air of youthful innocence on his face. However, with Diamond Garland standing on either side and a hundred and eighty Buddhist disciples serving in the hall, the power they wielded made even the Venerable bow their heads in deferity at this moment.

Such a scene was utterly ridiculous in the eyes of the returned Yinghai, especially as it also included the master who had raised him. This made him wonder if he was still not out of the effects of the rebound from the Six Paths of Reincarnation Divine Power.

“I am ashamed that my travels to Nan Hua Continent have left me in a sorry state. If it weren’t for my master’s rescue, I would have lost my life. Therefore, I regret that I have nothing worth sharing.”

Yinghai lowered his head and replied indifferently. Before so many monks, was he supposed to recount his experiences in Nan Hua Continent? What a joke!

He could talk to his master, but there was no way he would share the near-death experiences he had had there.

“Amitabha, Junior Brother, your obsession is too strong!”

The young monk seated high on the bright platform looked down at Yinghai, his face graced with a smile. With his grand appearance and every movement giving off the charm of Zen, he seemed above the ordinary.

“I have heard that Senior Brother, the Buddhist disciple, has already attained the Destiny Seer Power. Meeting him today, I can indeed see that you are extraordinary. I believe that my actions in Nan Hua Continent must have already been known to you, Brother.”

After his defeat in the dispute over the position of the Buddhist disciple, Yinghai had admired and even acknowledged this senior brother of his. But today, seeing his own mentor, whom he regarded as a father, acting so subservient, an ire rose within him.

“Yinghai, refrain from insolence!”

No sooner had Yinghai’s words fallen than the venerable Cien, standing half a step in front of him, turned around and reprimanded him in a stern voice.

“Master.”

A look of surprise flashed in Yinghai’s eyes, and then he lowered his head. The monks on either side looked sideways, the Diamond Protectors had an indifferent expression, while the Kalan Messengers looked pitying.

“Venerable, this does not matter. It’s just that I observe that Junior Brother Yinghai has lost all his Zen and his spirit is shattered. He is struggling to control himself. I have some advice for him, would he be willing to listen?”
