Chapter 114 - Fu Hua Tells Jia Li The Harsh Realities Of Getting Into FJ

"When will you be through with your studies?." Fu Hua asked with his gaze on her.

"Mmmm... my final exams will be starting soon, in a few weeks." Jia Li replied.

"Have you thought of where you want to work?." Fu Hua asked.

"I haven't talked about it, but grandfather asked me to come over to FJ once I'm through with school." Jia Li replied but hesitated a little before adding as she didn't know if he was angry.

"If you don't like it, I will ask grandfather to let me work in another place." Jia Li said in a soft tone as she looked downwards.

"I didn't say anything. If you are coming over to FJ, then you must prepare your heart and your mind to be strong. You are only a young designer who will be graduating in a few weeks. You don't have work experience, and FJ is really not a place for you. You don't look like a strong woman to me, so I doubt your capabilities if you will be able to survive in FJ." Fu Hua said to her with the sincerity of his heart.

.He didn't mean to be harsh on her, as he was only telling her the truth about the realities of life.

Jia Li felt tensed as she listened to Fu Hua.

"Grandfather May think he's doing a good thing for you by allowing you to come work in a place as prestigious as FJ, but it's actually going to be a very tough journey for you. At work, you are my employee, and I can't help you, so you've got to protect yourself as you can't go against your direct Boss." Fu Hua said to her and sighed in the end.

Jia Li looked downcasted as she thought about the truth Fu Hua just said to her.

Of course, FJ was not a place for everybody. Only experts or the best experiences could get in there. But who was she?

She was just someone with no work experience who would enter FJ Styles. She may be bullied, or not allowed to shine and forever remain under the shadows if she was not lucky.

Seeing Jia Li's mode change, Fu Hua apologized.

"I didn't mean to be outspoken and be that harsh to you. I was only trying to let you know what you are about signing up for. But you're a grown woman, so why do you let my grandfather make decisions for you?." Fu Hua asked.

Slowly looking up at him, Jia Li replied, "Grandfather is like my only parent, and he has raised me for the past year. He has been so good to me, so I have to listen to him since he knows what is best for me."

"Including getting married to me?" Fu Hua asked as his sight narrowed.

Jia Li waved her hands as she tried to explain, "I tried to get grandfather to cancel his proposal, but he didn't listen to me. And that was the first time I was refusing something from him."

"That's in the past now. From now onwards, you need to learn how to voice your opinion and get someone to do your bidding. If you don't master this act, you may turn into a slave or someone that is easy and can be used by anyone." Fu Hua said in a kind reminder.

"Thank you!" Jia Li muttered in a low tone.

Sighing, Fu Hua asked her to finish the food before her. And while staring at her, he felt he brought up the topic at the wrong time because she seemed to be in a bad mood.

"Jia Li, if you want anything, you can tell me about it instead of going to grandfather. If I'm not too busy, I will help you out directly or ask someone to help you with it." Fu Hua said to her as he tried to remedy the situation.

"Thank you!." Jia Li said with jer gaze on the ice cream that was melting.

"Do you want to see your friends?." Fu Hua asked.

This time around, Jia Li looked at him as her eyes brightened a little.

"I will help you meet with your friends, but that may be after your exams since you need maximum concentration." Fu Hua said.

"Thank you!." Jia Li said with a small smile. She hasn't met with her friends since she came to live with the Fu Family. Now that Fu Hua promised to help her meet with them, she was happy, and she forgot about her worries and finished up everything he ordered for her.

Fu Hua finally relaxed when he saw Jia Li eating happily again.

On their way home, he asked her to make a list of the things she wanted to do, and the places she wanted to visit.

"If I have the time some other day, I will. ring you out to those places."

When Fu Hua and Jia Li arrived home, Fu Hua was not around, as she had already left for her appointment with Mrs. Bai.

Fu Hee was on tenterhooks when she got to the venue she booked. She ordered a hot tea while waiting for Mrs. Bai to arrive.

At last, when Bai Fen arrived, Fu Hee smiled and hugged her in greeting.

"Fu Hee, you looked as if you lost some weight these few days." Bai Fen said she sat down with her gaze on Fu Hee.

"I've been under a lot of stress lately, so I'm not surprised." Fu Hee replied as beads of sweat began to appear on her forehead.

"As the Mistress of the Fu family, I understand that things are not so easy for you to handle, but you need to rest and don't exert yourself. By the way, what is that Fu ChunHua doing, can't she assist you to arrange some things?." Bai Fen asked with a frown.

"As the Mistress of the house, I have to be in charge, and the of man trusts me, so I can't just order everyone around in case the plan to sabotage me." Fu Hee lied smoothly.

"I understand, but still you need to take it easy with your health." Bai Fen said as she pats her hand.

"I know, thank you!." Fu Hee said with a slight smile as she took out a handkerchief from her bag.

Bai Fen poured some tea for herself from the ceramic tea jug on the table as she asked, "You called me out today, and I guess it's something important, what is it?."
