Chapter 1020: Until We’re Both Hoary-Haired (16)
Cola and Pepsi watched as Sheng Yize took out a pen and some paper, then wrote down two names in his neat handwriting.
The two kids leaned on the table and eyed each other in confusion. They both sat back down after a moment.
The characters looked so complicated... They didn’t know what they were.
An Xiaxia took one look and blushed.
The names were “Sheng Muan” and “Sheng Muxia”[1].
“Mummy, why are you blushing?” Pepsi asked curiously, her eyes wide open.
“Ahem, because they’re such beautiful names, so I got very excited!” Yup. That was it. Nothing more.
“What are our names?” Cola scratched his head.
“You’re Sheng Muan and your little sister is Sheng Muxia.” Sheng Yize smiled.
Pepsi protested. “I don’t want to be the little sister! I’m the big sister!”
“I’m the big brother!” Cola pouted.
Sheng Yize cleared his throat and said, “Alright. From now on, you’re the big brother and you’re the big sister.”
An Xiaxia was speechless. Don’t you find that a careless decision?!
Both kids were very pleased with the arrangement. “Yeah!”
“Do you like them?” Sheng Yize’s eyes flickered, reminding one of the starry night sky.
An Xiaxia thought he was asking Cola and Pepsi and didn’t reply. Sheng Yize had to repeat his question. “Xiaxia, do you like the names?”
“Huh?” An Xiaxia only realized then that the question was for her. She bit her lip and said, “They’re lovely...”
They were so much more tasteful than her Cola, Pepsi, Muffin, and Croissant.
“I’m glad you like them.” Sheng Yize rubbed her hair affectionately.
The romantic atmosphere was interrupted by the phone ringing.
Sheng Yize looked disgruntled. An Xiaxia took out her phone and said, “It’s Mrs. Si...”
She picked it up and heard Mrs. Si’s apologetic voice. “Xiaxia, Si Bai has been sick for days. He has a high fever and keeps calling Pepsi’s name. I was wondering if you could... bring Pepsi here to see him?”
An Xiaxia was terrified by the news. “No problem! We’ll be there first thing tomorrow morning!”
An Xiaxia told Sheng Yize about it after the phone call. Sheng Yize pursed his lips, but had no objections.
After all, the health of the kid was the top priority.
Early next morning, Sheng Yize drove the car himself and the family of four hurried to Ye City.
Ye City Hospital.
Si Yan was busy at work and Mrs. Si was there to greet them.
In the ward, Si Bai lay in bed, his face morbidly pale.
“They gave him an anti-fever injection last night and he’s a little better now.” Tears welled up in Mrs Si’s eyes as she said, “I don’t know what Si Bai did, but I’d like to apologize to you all.”
Mrs. Si bowed at An Xiaxia and the latter went up to her in a hurry. “Mrs. Si, that’s really not necessary. It was just a kid’s squabble... Pepsi, tell us what really happened between you and Little Bai?”
Pepsi snorted. “Little Bai is a liar! I’m not talking to him!”
“Pepsi!” An Xiaxia raised her voice. Pepsi pursed her lips, then reached out her chubby arms toward Sheng Yize, wanting to be picked up.
Sheng Yize picked her up and said, “Do you know that Si Bai is ill?”
Pepsi nodded.
“So, behave yourself.” Sheng Yize rubbed her head. “He’s not well.”
Just then, Si Bai’s eyelashes fluttered and he slowly woke up.
He opened his mouth the moment he saw Pepsi and his voice was very hoarse. “Pepsi...”
Pepsi couldn’t hold back her tears anymore. Jumping out of Sheng Yize’s arms, she ran to the bed and stood on tiptoe. “Little Bai.”
Si Bai lowered his gaze. “Are you... are you still mad at me?”
[1] “Mu” means “adore,” so basically the names are saying “Sheng Yize loves An Xiaxia.”
