The Extra’s Survival: Logging into the Game Master System!

Chapter 60: [Tutorial 4!]

Chapter 60: [Tutorial 4!]

[Adrian's POV!]

About 20 minutes before the next tutorial starts.

I had already given the weapons to Alice and Julia, and they both seemed rather happy with what I gave them.

For Julia, I gave her a glove like weapon that would shoot darts made up of poison. She can store upto 10 different types of poison and can shoot 100 poison needles made of each of those poison.

The best thing about it is that the glove is registered as an item rather than a weapon, making the space for the weapon open for her. She can use the gloves as her secret weapon for various types of situations.

Another feature of the weapon that I like was that it takes barely 10 ml of poison to work and can increase the effect of the poison by 50%. And since her gift wasn't dependent on any of the stats, I gave a +20 in Wisdom, given most of her skills will be based on that.

Julia was constantly looking at those gloves dozens of times with a constant smile on her face.

As for Alice, I gave her a [Mana Pen!] that came with a [Skill Storage!] that allows her to [Copy!] and [Store!] any of the skills that she has seen and use it in battle later on. It was a B-Grade weapon that took 2 Million points to create, but looking how satisfied she was, I believe it was worth it.

The reason it was a weapon and not an artifact, was because it increases the overall effect of all combat skills by 300%, along with an added random elemental effect just like my gun.

It was a perfect weapon for her, since her mana was high and she can use her innate skills on that weapon. And given how she can store a thousand skills in it for as long as possible, the limit wasn't really a problem either.

Just that each copied skill can be used only twice. And one skill can only be copied for 5 times.  Though it also meant that she can use a single skill for 10 times without any cooldown. Its only limit is that it can't store S-grade skills or above that.

'Though it did surprise me that she was called by the Goddess that contracted her. She said she had a lot to tell me but we should talk in the Tutorial since there were people listening here,' I pondered a little before recalling a few things from the tutorial before putting it to the back of my mind.

"Well. It's good and all given how she received an S-Grade skill and 2 A-Grade skills," I smiled as the encounter was rather fruitful for her. And judging how her mood was uplifted after she came back from wherever she went, I guess I shouldn't worry too much either.

I then looked at the others present in the area. There were people from my old group, and most of my classmates and another bunch of people I don't know. Seems like everyone who is going to the next tutorial has started to form groups together.

My group seemed to be more on the excited side as they laughed and talked to each other as if they were going on a picnic. On the other hand, my classmates and the other groups had a pensive look on their faces. They knew that they wouldn't die even if they were killed, but still, the fear of death wasn't that easy to let go.

'Not bad,' I mumbled as I looked at my [Gift] once again.

It was [Mortal Grade - 6] now. I wish I could take it to [Grade 5] but increasing it any further would be a pain since the distance required to cover was 200 kilometers in area. And I can't even do it as fast as before since the only area calculated was based on [Mapping] skill, which now had a radius of 500 meters.

Though 2 good things did come out of upping the grade.

[Skill: Perfect Measurement!

Grade: D (directly depend upon the Grade of the Gift: Cartography)

Effect:

-Allows the user to perfectly measure the dimension of all 3D objects which he sees!

-Allows the user to perfectly calculate the amount of mana an object has!]

One was this skill upgrade. And another was this…

[Skill: Eidetic Memory!

Grade: D

Effects: Allows the user to remember and recall everything with great precision!]

It was a simple skill that somehow was one of my best skills now. When paired with [Accelerated Learning!], I could just finish books within seconds if not minutes.

Ah! One more thing that happened was that resolution of objects became more clear in the map that has been [Mapped!]. If previously, three big blocks were designated to define a single person, now there are 20 such blocks for the same.

If my calculations are correct, I should be able to get a detailed 3D picture of all the people and surroundings on my map, if I were able to up it to [Grade - 0] again.

"Well. As long as I am not limited to a defined area, I will try to reach [Grade - 0] by the end of this tutorial," I made it as one of my goals for now. The other being to get an S-Grade skill card or more. Anything below, I will try and sell it if possible.

As I finalized my thoughts, the tutorial countdown reached its final seconds. My eyes observed it going to 0 as the surroundings changed completely once again.

.

.

.

A few seconds passed as the vision cleared and I found myself back at the same point as I had always been.

"Totally forgot about it," I chuckled as I saw the [Game Master]'s Screen appearing in front of me, having a bunch of panels showing [Main System] [Commands!] [Contractees] [Privileges] [Quests] [Bets] [Continue]

'All right. Let's check it all out one by one,' I thought as I began looking through the Game Master System once again.

The Main System was the same as before. As for the [Commands], it was the place where I created all the quests etc. In the [Contractee!], only my name was present, while the [Privileges!] panel showed all the things I unlocked by increasing the Authority.

The Quest this time were pretty much similar to the first tutorial

[Normal Quest(2)!]

[Hidden Quest(2)!]

[Normal Quests!]

[Escape!

Difficulty: Hard!

Objective: Escape from the forest and reach a safe city before the night comes!

Time limit: 1 Hour!

Reward: +2 Skill Points!

Failure: You will be locked out of the city for the entire night!]

[Help!

Difficulty: Hard!

Objective: Help at least 10 NPCs reach the safe city!

Time limit: 1 Hour!

Reward: +5 Skill Points!]

'So it's a forest escape, huh? The skill points seem attractive though,' I thought as I looked at them. Claire had told me about them. They were used to upgrade a skill and can only be found in the 4th, 5th and 6th Tutorial.

Though there was a catch in how to use them.

An F-Grade skill required 1 Skill points to upgrade it to E-Grade, but an E to D grade cost was 10 Skill Points. Similarly D to C was 100, C to B was 1000, and B to A was 10,000 Skill Points.

So it was a boon to those who were stuck with F-Grade skills, but wasn't really useful for people who had A-Grade skills and above. After all, Skill points were not that common as they seem to be.

[Would you like to create 10,000 Skill Points for 100 Million GM points?]

And it wasn't something that I can just get for GM points either since the values were almost the same.

In any case, I then ignored the normal quest and focused on the [Hidden Quest!]

[Hidden Quest: They awaken during the night!

Difficulty: Near Impossible!

Objective: The lesser Vampires have awakened during the night and are roaming the forest! Your objective is to kill as many as possible and survive till the morning sun comes up!

Time to survive: 12 Hours!

Rewards: Skill Points (Will be calculated based on the number of Lesser Vampires killed)]

[Hidden Quest: He who bathes in moonlight and blood!

Difficulty: Impossible!

Objective: The Vampire Baron who controls all the lesser Vampires has appeared to take over the city! Your objective is to stop him from reaching the city till the morning comes up!

Time to Survive: 12 Hours!

Rewards: [Skill to Skill Points Converter!]

"…"

The difficulty was high but… it certainly wasn't impossible. I might have considered giving it up since the opponent seems strong. But after looking at the reward… damn I won't. It was one way up to become the richest man in the entire Tower.

"I was saving it for later but now that it has come to this…" I then took out my [Twin Guns!] and then added another feature to it.

[-Instantly Kills all Vampires on hit!]

[Would you like to make the following changes for 100 Billion GM Points?]

">.>"

I rubbed my eyes for a few moments before I thought about it. Then thinking that there could be Vampire Kings and beyond, some even Immortals and stuff. And killing them in one shot… all right. I miscalculated.

Let's try something else then

[-Instantly Kills Baron Vampire and Below!]

[Would you like to make the following changes for 50 Million GM Points?]

'Does that mean that a Baron Vampire is a Peak B-Grade?' I made a tense expression before making some changes to the instructions.

[-Continually Adds Light Mana that adds 10 times damage to Vampires!]

[Would you like to make the following changes for 2 Million GM Points?]

'I barely have a Million Points, though? Should I do half of it?' I thought a bit before changing the damage to 5 times, which resulted in the cost to reach 800,000 GM Points. I could only hope that the number of lesser Vampires would be enough to help me make up for the cost that I am putting in here.

Pressing [Yes], I then sighed if I was doing it right or not. But in the end, I do want that artifact after all.

Taking a deep breath, I then shook my head before looking at the [Bets] next.

[Bet on the number of Survivors!] [x10]

[Bet on the person who will reach the city first!] [x100]

[Bet on the person who will reach the city last!] [x50]

[Bet on the person who will save the most people in the city!] [x100]

[Bet on the person who will survive the night without reaching the city!] [x1000]

'The only one that works for me is this… oh nice!'

[Bet on the Person who will survive the night without reaching the city! ][x1000!]

"This solves the problem of the first S-Grade skill," a smile appeared on my face as I could make 250 Million Points. Though it also made me sad that I didn't have more GM points. But it was fine. The points that I poured into the weapon are totally worth it.

I then looked at the entire thing once again, before pressing [Continue!] once again. I was actually getting excited.

The time started again as a similar quest appeared on the blue system screen. And I found myself in an open area within a dense forest. The area around me was barely visible as the sunlight reached to the ground from the setting sun.

My [Map] showed me nasty bald vampire lings creeping within the darkness of the forest. They were in the deeper areas, opposite to the direction nearest road. If I were to give a close example of them, then they seemed like dobby from harry potter, except much more ferocious and beasty. Because of my increased [Perception!], I could see their red ferocious eyes.

They also had fangs instead of their teeth.

'About… 50? Or perhaps more?' I thought as I observed them, with a smile forming on my face.

Seems like I can get back the GM points I paid for this particular scenario.
