The Extra’s Survival: Logging into the Game Master System!

Chapter 108: [A Slow Week!]

Chapter 108: [A Slow Week!]

[Location: Within the city where the tutorial started!]

[Adrian's POV!]

Standing at the top of the clock tower, I looked around the city once more.

It has been a week since we have freed the Vampires and a couple of things have occurred since then.

"I got another one here!" A player shouted as he captured the golden glowing ball with an ice related magic. The others moved forward to kill that ball thingy with a dark magic, evaporating it into dust.

They were the [Consumers]. A kind of being that takes birth at random places within the city and attacks everyone randomly. Though, the fact that it gave 10 skill points to each player who has damaged it even once made it a rather rewarding target, opposite to what it was intended to be.

'Well. At least there is some excitement in this boredom,' I thought as I looked at the [Continuity Quests!] Once again.

It was mentioned in the [Continuity Quests!] that they would appear, so it wasn't much of a shocker to me. Though, the [Watch Dogs of the Sun God!] that were supposed to come as well, did not appear, unlike how they are supposed to.

'I guess that white God must have done something,' I gave it a thought before putting it to the back of my mind as well.

As for my party members…

Killing the Royal Guards, Invar gained a skill upgrade coupon and a 1000 skill points, while Boss got the title of [Saviour] since she was the one to deal the last blow to Prince Rehan. Others also gained a lot of skill points from that event so it was a win win situation for all.

As for me, I did get something but it wasn't exactly a reward.

[Quest: Last Hope of Reiga!

Difficulty: Insane

Description: As the Fallen Vampire Prince Lincoln has started recovering his strength, he still needs his lost fragments to gain his complete power. Though that isn't all he is going to need in order to survive the war that is about to come. It would need an army to fight with an army.

Objective:

-Find the Lost 4 Fragments of the Vampire Prince and help him gain back his complete power! [0/4]

-Help the Vampire Prince to reestablish his kingdom completely! [Completed]

-Make sure that the people here regain their prime health and are prepared for the incoming war! [Completed!]

-Collect 1000 Soldiers that could fight! [723/1000]

Time Limit: ???

Reward: Chain Quest [A War of the Two Worlds!]]

It's not like the quest itself was difficult or complex. But rather than doing it in a hurry by myself, I instead sent some of my trusted players to the places where the [Fragments] were.

Julia and the group went to the eastern forest area, while Alice, Mark, Alex, Luke and Percy went to the west desert region. Boss and the others were visiting the Northern mountains as I marked the location of the fragments.

As for the last fragment, it was somewhere down south where I was going to visit after the other three were collected.

'Everything is going smoothly,' I sighed before I looked at the metallic ball in my hand. It was given to me by a 'certain someone who knows me'. Normally I wouldn't care much about something like that but…

[Item: World Connector!

Grade: Ex

Effects: Increases the connection of the User to the World by 50%, allowing him to partially take control of the world he is in.

Limit: This item can only be used once!]

'It's as if it was tailor made for this situation,' I narrowed my eyes at the description before I wondered who could be that person who gave me this item? I did ask Rosaliyah, but all she answered was,

'If you don't know it yet, then it's probably something you shouldn't know yet. I don't know how he does his things, but I don't want to interfere so I won't tell. That bastard is… unique but not really a bad person. So wait until he himself appears and tells you everything.'

Though that doesn't stop making me feel uneasy at all. Free help is often the most costly thing in this world.

'I should be careful,' I decided before keeping that item in my inventory. It was important to look into but I have no lead to start with…

As for what I have been doing for the past week can be answered with this…

[GM Points: 1.3 Billion!]

[Skill Points: 263,121!]

While the skill points were my doing, the GM Points mostly came from Annabeth. I was keeping an eye on her through the [Contract] Screen, and looking at how she was fighting at the 40th Floor right now, I guess it won't be long till she reaches the 46th Floor and meets that Leader guy.

In a way, her fast growth kind of made me proud of her. She was reaching her full potential, and that wide smile that never vanished from her face, made me smile even more. I guess it was worth making Contract with her. Perhaps the next time we will meet, I will ask her more about what kind of planet she was from and how was her life there.

My eyes then once again moved back to the number of GM Points and the skill points that I had right now.

'It's always fun to see the number increasing,' I chuckled a bit before calming my excitement down.

A smile was present on my face as I looked at that number. It was beautiful… though I then looked at the [Skills] that I had and questioned what I should upgrade next? Honestly, it was always a dilemma to do that… though this time… I knew what I had to upgrade.

The main motive of this tutorial was to increase all my Skills to at least A-Grade, which I already did and I was steadily moving towards S-Grade next.

But then…

I recalled the two events that had happened before.

One was in the forest with that duo who had 'white' color on the map. They were anything but weak. And the other incident was with that shadow guy who could trace me even with the Illusion.

'No matter how I see it, there are beings that I can't fathom the power of. For some reason, I don't think it's just the [Heroes] and [Villains] that I needed to be worried about,' I mumbled as I had a grim expression on my face.

Despite being so strong, I felt weak right now. There was this uneasiness that I couldn't just let go of…

So what I needed the most right now was protection. A strong protection against any sudden attack that could kill me. It was something that I deemed the most necessary, all the more because I don't have that [Ring of Resurrection!] with me anymore. And the answer to that was…

[Absolute Nullification!]

It was a life saving skill that I got from the Dungeon, which made things much easier for me, many times. But now I need it to be even more powerful than that.

Surprisingly or unsurprisingly, the cost to increase the grade of this skill was 250,000 Skill points, about 2.5 times more than normal. That's the reason I was still saving the skill points rather than upgrading any of the skills. Though one thing was sure, if the cost is this much then the increase is that much more valuable.

Pouring all the points in, I then looked at the upgraded skill once more with a smile forming on my face.

[Skill: Absolute Temporal Counter

Grade: S

Effect: Whenever the user is attacked, the time-line shifts, sending the user 3 seconds prior to when the attack was placed! That attack will be 100% nullified while the user will have all the information about the attack, the direction of the attack and the location of the attacker.

Additional effects: For 5 seconds, after the skill activates, the user gains complete Invincibility against that targer's attacks.

Remark: This Skill has been Modified by an external means to activate against nom-Tower Resedential Threats!]

'Ah! Perfect!' I smiled as I looked at that skill. It was everything that I needed right now, and thinking about the possibilities, I smiled even more.

It wasn't just a defense skill that would allow me to counterattack my attacker but it would help me even escape from a threat if the opponent is too strong. I guess, with this, I should be able to handle most of the situations even if they are risky.

'That makes it my 3rd S-Grade skill,' I smiled before removing [Hunt!] and [Aura!] from the skill section for 200 Million GM Points. Although they were good, given my current situation, they were pretty much useless. And will become even more useless as I will gain more S-Grade skills.

The number of GM points I had were a lot but for some reason, I wasn't motivated to increase my skills anymore. Or to be precise I wanted a new skill that was different from what I had right now. Something that would keep the excitement going on. see-more-MVLeMpYr

From all the things that I had, whether it were weapons or skills, or [Body], or even [Gift!], they had reached the point where I have more than enough. Maybe I will need them later on, but right now? I don't think I do.

So, the question is… what should I do now?

And my skill [Eidetic Memory!] came into play again as I recalled a certain piece of information before a smile appeared on my face.

The next skill that I was going to make was…

[Skill: Psychometry!

Grade: A

Effects:

-Complete Memory Recall: Instead of just sensing vague impressions or emotions from objects, the user can extract detailed and complete memories from people or objects, like watching a movie of the past.

-Memory Diving: Dive into layers of memories—both conscious and subconscious—unlocking forgotten or repressed events, secrets, or traumas from an object or individual's past.

-Emotional Reliving: Not only can you see the events, but also experience the emotions tied to those memories, allowing you to understand the full emotional context of past events.]

[Would you like to create the skill for 231 Million GM Points?]

I clicked [Yes!] before I took out a certain artifact that I had with me.

I doubt people can tell me a lot of things but.. it's different if it were objects like weapons or artifacts.

It was going to be fun witnessing the stories that the artifacts tell… especially this [World Connector!] that I got from that unknown person.

Also… I wonder if the weapons created by the Game Master System have any stories to tell?
