Chapter 476: Chapter 476: Divine Realm Connection
“By next spring, we must annihilate the Vine Snake Tribe!”
The Poison Lizard Tribe’s Clan Leader, with a string of beast teeth and a small skull hung around his neck, picked up a bowl of blood-red wine and drank it in one gulp. He then tore off a large chunk of meat from an unidentified animal leg that was skewered over the fire pit in front of the three men, bit into it, and threw the bone aside. Lying on the ground, a Poisonous Lizard with green scales and a row of sharp spikes on its back snapped the animal bone in its jaws, crunching it loudly.
The Old Wizard picked up the blood-red wine and took a pinch of something from a leather pouch on his body, tossing it into the wine. Upon closer inspection, they were a few small worms struggling in the blood wine before becoming motionless. After downing the drink in one gulp, the Old Wizard’s face quickly turned green, then swiftly red, exhaling a faint black gas from his nostrils. His face suddenly glowed red, looking invigorated.
“They have a new Guardian, a powerful creature unlike any we’ve seen before.”
The Old Wizard’s eyes shone with a green gleam as he said:
“I must capture one to test my latest spell.”
The tall Warrior Leader picked up a drinking cup made from a human skull and drank in one gulp, intoning:
“It shall be as you wish, I and my warriors will eradicate the Vine Snake Tribe.”
“That would be best!”
The Old Wizard, with his mouth gaping to reveal black and yellow teeth, took out a wrist-length hollow Bone Flute from his pocket. A slippery black tentacle extended from one end of the flute, twisting in the air before he handed it to the warrior, saying:
“When you see their Guardian, crush the Bone Flute and throw it out.”
The warrior was about to take it when suddenly, a loud commotion came from outside, and they felt it had become much lighter outside, while the temperature started rising.
The three of them quickly got up and went outside, colliding with a panic-stricken guard. After pushing the guard aside and stepping out, they all looked up with shock on their faces.
The Vault of Heaven was illuminated by rolling fiery clouds, and a Rain of Fire descended from the sky, showering the entire tribe.
While the Poison Lizard Tribe was discussing when to attack the Vine Snake Tribe, the Vine Snake Tribe had emerged in full force and launched a preemptive attack on the Poison Lizard Tribe.
This time it was a total mobilization, leaving only ten Supreme Nagas, twenty Star Spirits, and all the men of the Crimson Furnace Tribe to guard their home, while the rest, including more than two hundred Thunder Wings, mobilized in full force, with him and his partner also joining.
Without any idle chatter, the first wave was the Mage’s Meteoric Fire Rain covering the entire tribe, without any worry that it might cause a wildfire.
The fully prepared troops stayed outside the Poison Lizard Tribe, where numerous Vine Snake Tribe warriors stood with mouths agape, watching the Vault of Heaven filled with clouds and the descending Rain of Fire. By now, the Poison Lizard Tribe was already submerged in a sea of fire.
One after another, Lightning bolts fell, striking down flying Fierce Beasts that soared from within the Poison Lizard Tribe, creatures summoned by the Poison Lizard Tribe’s Wizards, both corporeal and spiritual.
After many battles, they had become very familiar with the strategies of these tribes, each with a method of response.
When the Poison Lizard Tribe had finally gathered their panicked warriors ready to rush out and counterattack, they were met by the long-waiting combined forces of the Vine Snake Tribe and the Supreme Naga.
Lin Xiao and his companion hovered in midair, not paying too much attention to the battle below, but rather casting their gaze towards a lushly vegetated small mountain range behind the Poison Lizard Tribe, inside a gorge. He sensed a very strong presence there and, if not mistaken, it should be where the totem of the Poison Lizard Tribe hid.
Within the Poison Lizard Tribe, the Old Wizard led a group of Wizards to a gigantic Totem Pillar in the center of the tribe, entwined with a Giant Lizard. Generous offerings were made, wild animals were beheaded, and their blood was poured into grooves on a stone slate in front of the Totem Pillar. The blood quickly filled the grooves and converged towards the center, then an invisible force drew it upwards along the pillar, rapidly outlining a massive shape of a Lizard Giant Beast.
With a dizzying roar, black gas rose from the gorge, restrained by an invisible force into a column that shot into the sky, followed by a huge figure darting out of the valley, leaping hundreds of meters before landing on a boulder.
It was a Giant Lizard, over eighty meters from head to tail, with two tails and bearing a slight resemblance to the Dragon Clan—less majesty, more grotesque features.
Its body was covered in large, tough scales riddled with ugly warts, and a row of black spikes ran from its head to its tail, with wisps of black flames entwined around the spikes, forming a line of black fire that extended from head to tail, fluttering as its body heaved.
At its feet was a circle of gray Aura continuously rippling outwards, turning the leaves and grass on the ground into ash as they swept by.
Despite its ferocious appearance, it possessed no small amount of intelligence, quickly locking its gaze on Lin Xiao and Shen Yuexin on the battlefield, as a hoarse voice emerged out of nowhere in their ears:
“You dare to provoke Balor, the Poisonous Lizard King.”
“The Poisonous Lizard King, Balor? It even has its own name!”
Lin Xiao was somewhat surprised, taking a closer look at the creature and said loudly:
“In the name of the Guardian of the Vine Snake Tribe, annihilate the Poison Lizard Tribe!”
His words were essentially a declaration of war, and as the Poisonous Lizard King, Balor, spewed a thick black gas that corroded the nearby plants, he screeched:
“You’re seeking your own death!”
The thick lizard tail smashed the ground rocks to smithereens, and with a fierce leap, it charged towards Lin Xiao, rampaging through the forest, toppling tall trees as if they were wheat in a field.
Lin Xiao twisted his neck and said to his girlfriend:
“Cover me, I’m going in to fight!”
Having said that, he leaped into the air, where a blast of golden light exploded, and his figure rapidly expanded, quickly transforming into a massive, 120-meter-long Supreme Asura Naga that thunderously descended, the surging air currents obliterating the surrounding debris and fallen leaves.
A dazzling circle of seven-colored halos unfurled as he stood, looking as beautiful as they were dangerous.
This was a phenomenon created by his terrifying physical body compressing the void, which only appeared when one’s physique reached a certain level.
This anomaly brought the charging Poisonous Lizard King to a halt, its massive pupils darting uncertainly as it gazed at Lin Xiao, who was even larger than itself, a trace of hesitation in its eyes.
But Lin Xiao gave no opportunity for hesitation. His enormous golden wings furiously flapped, lifting him into the air, then he plummeted down towards the Poisonous Lizard King like a meteor.
The Poisonous Lizard King, screaming, opened its jaw lined with densely packed sharp teeth and expelled a concentrated black mist in the form of a dark energy blast, while its body quickly dodged sideways over a hundred meters and conjured a house-sized ball of stinky poison in its mouth. The dark green venom dribbled through the spaces between its teeth, falling to the ground and instantly corroding tiny holes into the earth.
“Oh no!”
Lin Xiao cackled and, with a spout of syllables, vanished in a flash of golden light, reappearing in the air not far behind the Poisonous Lizard King, then dropping fiercely like a meteor:
“Chaos Roar!”
Driven by his demigod body and bolstered by the powerful abilities of his hero class, the Warrior, the skill struck the unprepared Poisonous Lizard King with full force. In an instant, like a meteor hitting the earth, a wave of chaotic shockwaves erupted from the point of impact, rapidly spreading hundreds of meters outwards and forming a tangible dark gold halo on the ground.
Chaos Roar (Ancient): Slam the ground with force, dealing extensive physical and explosive damage to enemies within a radius of fifteen meters plus X around oneself, causing a stun of 2 plus X seconds, followed by a slow effect for another 5 plus X seconds after the stun. At the end of the skill, a Chaos Field persists at the location for 30 plus X seconds. Usable thrice per day.
Note 1: The power and effects of the skill are relative to the user’s strength; the stronger the individual, the greater the power and effects.
Note 2: While within the Chaos Field, the user gains robust physical and spell resistances as well as powerful regenerative capabilities, significantly enhanced attack accuracy; allies benefit from half the effects of the user, and enemies suffer a reduction in defense and resistances.
The demigod’s tremendous power, combined with the hero class skill, even the totemic body of the Poisonous Lizard King could not escape the various effects attached to the skill, being stunned on the spot. The stench-filled venom concentrated in its mouth was forcibly ejected by the impact, and large swathes of ground rock and soil were corroded into several meters deep pits.
Inside the dark golden Chaos Field formed by the Chaos Roar, Lin Xiao’s hundred-meter-tall body was coated with a layer of dark golden light. His massive dragon arm lifted, forming a fist as big as a building, and ferociously slammed down on the Poisonous Lizard King’s head.
“Boom!”
The dust erupted violently, and the giant head of the Poisonous Lizard was smashed straight into the ground, deeply embedded more than ten meters below the surface.
Then, giant claws grabbed the Poisonous Lizard King and flipped him over, a colossal foot was raised and stomped down, two enormous claws grabbing the mouth of the Poisonous Lizard King and prying it open, and a golden flame brewed in the depths of the mouth, growing rapidly brighter.
The lethal threat awakened the unconscious Poisonous Lizard King, which opened its eyes to see this unfolding scene and struggled frantically, but utterly unable to escape under his overwhelming power advantage, it could only watch helplessly as the golden Dragon Breath spilled over the edges of its mouth.
Meanwhile, the Old Wizard on the nearby chaotic battlefield saw his totem in peril and in a desperate act, grabbed a small green-glowing poisonous lizard from his shoulder, chewed it up, and while holding a Crystal Skull Head in his mouth, he chanted with closed eyes. Shortly after, his body erupted in green flames, and with his pupils burning, he pointed at the Clan Leader of the Poisonous Lizard Tribe not far away.
In the blink of an eye, the green flames engulfing him vanished without a trace, and he fell unconscious, collapsing on the spot.
Then, the Clan Leader of the Poisonous Lizard Tribe, who he pointed at, suddenly found his totem engulfed in raging green flames. He let out a painful scream, his body rapidly merging with the totem, transforming into a gigantic poisonous lizard, and with a powerful leap, crashed towards the Asura Naga incarnation of Lin Xiao.
“Boom!”
This forty to fifty-meter Giant Lizard rammed into Lin Xiao’s head, causing it to jerk sideways; the highly concentrated golden breath narrowly missed the mouth of the Poisonous Lizard King and instead pierced through half of its face. It melted through its body and part of the ground, tracing a massive trench twenty to thirty meters deep that stretched for thousands of meters into the distance as he threw back his head.
“That’s fierce!”
The ferocity of her boyfriend’s strike left Shen Yuexin, who was watching from not too far away, with stars sparkling in her wide eyes, deepening her awe of his power.
The Poisonous Lizard King narrowly escaped with its life and, seizing the momentary weakness Lin Xiao exhibited from the energy expenditure of his powerful blow, broke free and fled without looking back.
This scene left the Tribal Leader of the Poisonous Lizard Tribe, who had hoped to rescue their own and turn the tide, dumbfounded. Looking up, he met the gaze of fiery fury and golden flames, and a massive claw descended from the sky with precision, ruthlessly pinning down the fleeing
