Chapter 670 - Typhon

Chapter 670 - Typhon

Max who was hearing the story couldn't believe his ears at all. If it was not for the fact that the two Old Progenitors were willing to testify that this old man was indeed someone who had lived for years and survived the cemetery, he would have really taken his words as nothing but bullsh*t.

The old man obviously while going through the story was skipping details about the artifact and had replaced it with 'something important' and his conquest for finding the person for the artifact as 'finding a person who could inherit his mantle'.

It was bullsh*t, both the Progenitors and Max understood it. But Max, who knew the truth, was able to understand the truth in those words.

The old man continued with his story, and Max tried his best to read in between the lines and avoid lies to see the truth.

With the marriage of Erina's mom and dad.

Things settled down a bit, and the old man once again disappeared.

When Erina was born, he had lots of hope for her. Sadly, she didn't turn out to be the person he wished for. Her affinity with the Artifact was even lower than her mother. The old man who had a lot of hope from Erina due to her mother's affinity was really disappointed.

And, his disappointed only increased when Wilson was born. The kid didn't even have fire as an element.

The information regarding the Artifact was allowed to be passed by the old man only to Patriarch of the family. After all, the Family was his bloodline.

When the Patriarch of the Yule Family passed, the current Patriarch inherited his position and decided to bring the Artifact back. The old man just took the back seat and watched the scene play.

He had given a lot of try, and he didn't mind letting this guy give it a try as well. And, surprisingly, this generation had someone who could use it to a limited extent.

It was Neo.

And, what happened after that was very obvious to Max.

'Something seems wrong..' Max frowned.

According to the old man, both Erina and Wilson had no affinity with the artifact at all.

But, Max remembered that both Erina and Wilson had felt something from it.

Another thing which was odd was that the old man failed for hundreds of years, and it suddenly worked this generation.

'Could it be..' Max frowned a bit.

If you asked him, he could relate the change in Erina's affinity with the artifact to only one thing.

The Breaking of the Seal by the Heavenly Demon, Vaccaria.

This was what had led to awakening, either full or partial.

If Max could himself awaken, there was no guarantee that Erina wasn't affected by it as well.

"Interesting story.." The Storm Progenitor smiled at him.

"So, let me guess something.." He further added looking at the old man, "This important thing that Max has was obtained from the Ancient Cemetery. And, your so-called looking for a successor was nothing but you looking for someone who can match himself with this 'important thing'."

"Sounds like the Artifact…" The Progenitor from the Leviathan family looked at Max and the old man.

But, the two just remained calm.

"But, the five artifacts are all with the family. If not for that, I would have really doubted it to be an artifact." Storm Progenitor shook his head, and both the old man and Max sighed internally.

Thankfully, they knew this was going to happen.

"Since you have heard my story, I will be leaving now." The Old man finally got up, and without waiting for anyone, just left the room like that.

Obviously he spared Max a last glance.

Max knew they would be meeting again and very soon.

He wasn't afraid of him. He knew the guy wouldn't kill him. Because, if he died in this period of time, the old man would be the first one to take the blame. He sure wouldn't want that. Besides, Max felt that his aim was not different from the old man himself. It seemed there were some possibilities for cooperation.

Hence, he was more than interested to meet him.

With the old man gone, Max finally turned his head towards the Storm Progenitor.

It was time for his answers.

"I did what you asked, now tell me about Lear's condition." Max looked at him with a serious face.

"Well, you sure did impress me. Guess, I have no choice but to reward you." The Storm Progenitor replied with a smile.

"Your friend has been affected by Typhon's poison.."

"Typhon?" Max frowned.

"Typhon is the creature of Defiance."

"It is a dragon-like creature with several heads. It can control all the elements available within nature. But, it's main characteristic is poison." The Storm Progenitor looked at Max with a calm look on his face.

"Legend says that the creature had Surpassed Ascension. It fought with the World to gain control over the world, but lost to it in the end."

"It might sound absurd but the world has a consciousness of its own." He further added.

Max obviously understood it. It was nothing but the Dimensional energy.

"How could Lear be poisoned by such a thing?" Max asked in confusion.

"Well, a millennia ago, the Corpse of Typhon was discovered. It was during that time that the last major fight between us and the Demons broke out. It was limited to a specified area though."

"The Creature's corpse had 22 heads remaining. It was obviously fought over by the two sides. In the end, the Demons ended up with 12 heads since they found the place first, and we got the remaining 10."

"Your friend has metal element poisoning which most likely has come from one of the heads that the demon took. Obviously, the poison has been diluted to an extreme level. If not, your friend would have died instantly. Not to mention, I am sure that getting a concentrated poison from any of the heads is not easy as well."

"After all, who would want to use a poison which could kill Supremes on Kids at Advance tier." The old man shook his head with a smile.

He was wondering just who this guy was.
