The Alpha's Return

Chapter 6 - Recovering

Chapter 6 - Recovering

"So then, where will I be staying?", Lucas asked. He stretching his hand towards Michael to lift him up. Michael took his hand and hoisted himself up.

"Do I need to tell them that your eyes turned red again?", Michael asked hesitantly.

"There is no need for that. They will find out when they come here. It is not a matter of significance. They are just eyes.', Lucas said.

"Just eyes? Lucas, you do may have forgotten that day, but I have not. The day that your eyes turn red is a catastrophe for us all. We must take care of that first..", Michael shouted.

"I have him under control. The only way to 'take care' of these eyes is to kill that asshole Peter.", Lucas scowled back.

"I don't even know why I am reasoning with you. You can sleep here. I will sleep elsewhere. I don't even want to leave you somewhere with a lot of people. You can come out after you have calmed down. Maria, come out with me.", Michael said with a low voice, almost as if he was whispering. Maria heard him, of course. She was a werewolf with heightened senses. She ran to get the door, and Michael leaved it. Lucas looked at them with a complicated expression, and he turned back to fall on the bed.

Outside the room,

"Boss! Who is that man? I have never seen you give that room to another and compromise? And that time when he attacked you, I couldn't move at all. It was as if I lost my ability to move. What was that?", she asked, curious for every piece of information that she could get.

"Attacked me? That is not an attack, Maria. If that man actually wants to attack someone, he will die. No doubt about that. You don't need to know who he is. You will get to know him very well after a month.", Michael said, shaking his head. They headed through a corridor to a vast opening. There were many people here, and they were all working. It was not clear what their profession was, but it was clear that they were all werewolves, because all of them were handling loads that were simply not possible for a human.

Back inside the room,

"Sigh. Michael, you are too caring for your own good. Look were it got me. It seems that very few people actually want to stick with me. Whoever I choose, everyone leaves me. Peter, you made a big mistake messing with me. And that Marquess. Whoever that is, I will make sure that she will have a befitting end.". Lucas spoke to himself in a low voice, as his eyes glinted in a red glow again.

He was on the bed right now. He got up and sat upright. Closing his eyes, he started meditating. The hole in the center of his chest was glowing subtly, in a cold light, with a white glow. It was as if his chest was emanating moon light.

"I owe you one for the moon drops, Michael. It saved my life." Lucas said again to himself. It seemed that he was used to speaking to himself. But, it also seemed that someone was there, because someone, no something answered back.

"You should stop thanking someone that isn't there anymore Lucas.", a voice said. Lucas opened his eyes. He did not look around for the source of the voice, because it looked like he knew very well who it was.

"You are awake. I did not expect that. When did you wake up?", Lucas spoke out.
