Chapter 133: Choice (1)

Luke landed while swinging his sword toward one of the enemies that was trying to surround Billy, but the enemy blocked the strike with the cable of its ax. The monster didn’t even flinch at Luke’s full power attack and with the help of gravity. That didn’t surprise Luke, though. He immediately pointed his left hand toward the face of the monster and used a Spark Ball. While the creature was being electrocuted, he used Stinger while aiming at its heart. He didn’t hold back and used Stinger level four and yet… the weapon barely reached the monster’s heart. Their endurance was something beyond the level of ordinary monsters… that wasn’t a good sign.

You obtained 50 experience points.

You obtained 50 gold coins.

“As expected… they are pretty resilient,” Luke furrowed his eyebrows.

“You guys came much sooner than I expected…” Billy said, visibly surprised.

“We would have arrived much sooner if your plan weren’t so sloppy,” Luke said, and then dashed toward the next target. “You owe us some explanations!”

Luke recalled that Amanda was using his mana, so he had to get slow with its use. Fortunately, two shots in the head or in the neck were enough for her to kill the beasts. Unfortunately, monsters of that level can easily jump over the walls surrounding the airport, and their numbers didn’t stop coming.

“The first group had already arrived?” Luke asked.

“Yes… but we will need some time to refuel the airplane, we wasted several hours trying to land before.

Luke frowned when he heard that… it was just too fast, even though he had assumed that possibility. Adding that to the fact that the monsters wanted to enter the airplane, everything seemed way too suspicious. Still, it would be better if he doesn’t voice his opinion about it.

Luke decided to focus on the monsters instead of that for the time being. So, he headed toward the east side of the airport, which was the direction the enemies were coming. Amanda and Celia jumped from the airplane and approached to offer some back up. The enemies tried to surround him, when Luke opened a path with relative ease among the enemies line, but the attacks coming from behind Luke prevented them.

While watching that, Billy couldn’t help but frown, even though they didn’t work together for a while, their coordination was superb, to the point where they could be more effective than a group of ten soldiers at a higher level than them. Billy knew that the two elves and the dark elve granted them some power, but even so…

With the help of Luke’s group, the bull-like monsters were unable to advance even further. Things would have been even easier if their weapons didn’t disappear when they died… they were just like goblins in that sense. Nevertheless, things improved even more when Celia froze the enemies legs with her ice arrows  and Amanda paralyzed them for a full second with her bolts… Luke had free pass to behead those fuckers. Still, Luke’s instincts were telling him that something bad was about to happen… it was the usual pattern: the fights get easier for one reason or the other and then something unexpected would happen and then make things incredibly more difficult. That being said, not even in his wildest dreams, Luke would have imagined that a crystal would appear right there. Once again he confirmed that something that he didn’t know was happening behind the curtains.

“… A crystal appeared behind us!” Rina said, shocked, which was rare for her.

Luke couldn’t turn around since he was fighting with the monsters, but Amanda and Celia did, but they didn’t find anything. It was beyond the airplane where no one was guarding… before anyone could check it, the area began to tremble. It wasn’t an earthquake. Space itself began to tremble for some reason and everyone could feel the pressure because the level of mana in the area was increasing. When that ended, Luke and the others felt a powerful aura on the other side of the airplane. Something big had come… and considering that Rina and Shalia were sweating Bullets, he had a good idea what was there.

Out of nowhere, a huge impact echoed in the area and the airplane was pushed to the side a few meters. An airplane as big as that should weigh thousands of tons, and yet…

“Shit…” Billy said.

Billy seemed a bit nervous, but not that surprised. It looked like he had imagined that such a thing was going to happen, so he left the battlefield and entered the airplane. Certainly, he knew that he couldn’t make the airplane take off now, so he was going to take something or someone from there.

“Artiuno, get out of there!” Luke shouted.

Artiuno obeyed and escaped the next attack. Still, even though Luke didn’t order it, she began to attack what was on the other side out of reflex. That was another no-good sign… something terrifying was there to make another monster feel threatened.

“Deal with those guys, I will deal with that,” Luke said.

Before Amanda and Celia could say anything, Luke ran to the other side. whatever was there, it was something powerful, but pretty dumb since it was attacking the side of the airplane instead of trying to enter the back door. Luke jumped on Artiuno’s back and then saw the creature. He gulped when a creature that looked like a gorilla… a gorilla of five meters of height and that had bulging muscles that looked like steel. While the monster was unarmed, it still was wearing some pieces of yellow armor. For some reason, the vicious red eyes of the monster stopped on Luke and stopped attacking the airplane. At the same time, Luke felt shivers like never before.

“Luke… that guy is one of them,” Rina said. “One of those that invade planets and sent their troops to strengthen them… I hate to say it, but you don’t have a chance against that.”
