Meditation Skill Book
It grants you the power to recover an amount of mana that will be equal to the level of the skill per second.
Special effect: Sage’s proficiency.
It increases your mana by an amount that will be equal to the skill level after meditating for two hours per day. This bonus can only take place once a day.
“Is this the skill you were talking about?” Luke asked. “It is amazing, but I was expecting something more practical, and that would have more immediate effects.”
“It is. While I understand where you are coming from, you will need this type of skill,” Shalia said. “You saw the cost of the tier seven spells. Your mana is too low… relying only on status alone to make it grow won’t do it.”
“Are there skills that do the same for both HP and SP?” Luke asked.
“I know that there is one for SP, but the other one hasn’t been discovered yet,” Shalia replied.
If there exists one for MP and SP, then it should have the remaining one. Still, since it was so useful, it was extremely rare or too expensive for any people they know to have found it in the shop. Regardless, it was a pretty risky investment, but Luke decided to buy the skill… Now he will have something to do when he is bored.
Luke didn’t have an interest in the others. Still, after seeing that Amanda and Celia didn’t buy any new gear, he checked their status and confirmed that they had bought skill books. Amanda had obtained Dash, Archery, and Staffmanship. While she rarely used it, she still had her staff… As for Celia, she bought Wind Blade and Flamethrower. She probably wanted to have more spells of different elements because it would be troublesome to find an opponent with high magic Resistances.
After half an hour, the airplane finally landed, and as expected, the noise attracted the monsters in the area, and even though they couldn’t jump over the walls, they could make them melt with their fire attacks.
“Don’t let the monsters approach or attack the airplane!” Billy shouted. “We need to hold them down until we finish refueling it.”
They didn’t have time to be switching strategies, so Shalia used Luke’s mana and attacked the monsters with Ice Arrows while Luke himself used Sonic Blade. Their combined attacks kept the monsters at a distance and never let the monsters get close. Upon noticing that Luke could protect a large by himself, Amanda and Celia left to cover for the other groups that had injured soldiers. Despite that, Mark and Julia still came to offer Luke some help.
“You sure have some tricks, Luke,” Mark said. “You have learned well. I have nothing more to teach you.”
Luke let out a sigh… only his father was foolish enough to say such a thing in the middle of a battle. Nevertheless, at least he wasn’t foolish enough to attack the monsters with his ax. He used an ice bow. The enemies kept coming for quite a while. Still, while some of the soldiers had a hard time defeating them before they could explode, Luke solved that problem by stepping forward a bit more and drawing the attention of the monsters. Thanks to his parents being nearby to offer him support, he could do that just fine.
Even after half an hour, the Bakus kept coming, but the preparations had been completed… The engine of the airplane was turned on again, and everyone began to embark. However, even after the airplane began to move, Luke and some others didn’t embark. Only after the vehicle gained some speed was when they jumped in on the back door. They couldn’t let the monsters damage the aircraft, after all.
“That was intense… I never thought I would have to literally run to catch an airplane on the move,” Amanda said while the back door of the airplane was closing.”
“Right?” Celia smiled.
Almost the entire operation had been completed. Now the group just had to save some people in Berlin and then head back home. Hopefully, things will be simpler there… in any case, Luke decided to make use of Meditation. The more he uses, the faster it will level up, after all.
While Luke was doing that, Rina and Shalia began to receive more mana than usual. At that rate, they might be able to exert a lot more influence in Luke’s world and prevent most of the chaos that they failed to prevent on their own. Only by doing that Luke would feel secure in leaving Earth to see his possible enemies and allies in other worlds.
After a while, Luke stopped since things were starting to get noisy around him. When he opened his eyes, he saw his father and Billy leaving the cockpit of the airplane while showing complicated expressions. Everyone could tell that something had happened in Berlin.
“We lost contact with the survivors in Berlin,” Mark said.
“Do we have any idea what happened?” Julia asked.
“… Apparently, Frank talked with them a few hours ago, and they told him that some tremors were happening pretty much every ten seconds,” Mark replied. “Aside from that, we know nothing.”
Luke could tell that Shalia and Rina trembled a little when they heard. It seemed that they had encountered something that could do that… cause earthquakes several times in a row. Still, Luke didn’t know if it was a good idea to ask them about it.
“… It seems that one of them came to your world,” Rina said. “I would advise turning around and staying away from that city.”
“What do you mean by that?” Mark asked.
“The owner of a crystal came to your world… and their power is… something that none of us can even begin to comprehend,” Rina said. “They can’t remain in this kind of world for long, but they have enough power to easily knock down this vehicle with a slap.”
“You seem well informed,” Mark said.
“That is because my home country was completely annihilated in a single night by one of them,” Rina said. “By the way, my country was as big as yours.”
