Supreme Couple In Apocalypse: Undead King & Demonic Queen

Chapter 442 Star Furnace

Chapter 442 Star Furnace

Erix, Rin, and Lily moved to the planned position and distance from each other.

After just a minute of walking through the thick fog and forest, they all sensed a powerful aura with hostile intent aimed at them.

Soon, they appeared in their detection range and quickly saw them.

The trio was connected spiritually by staying within range of 50 meter radius of each other, so they could talk to each other and move accordingly.

'So they are Mist Pixies? They look awful.'

Mist Pixies were two meters tall with misty wings and a ghastly face with dark blue and yellow skin carved with patterns.

Their aura was more powerful than any Empyrean-order monster they had fought before.

[Mist Pixie]

-Power level: 6th class Empyrean-order.

Erix swept his hand and without hesitation, used Abyssal Impale as his gauntlet faintly shone.

The Mist Pixie felt something, but it was too late as it released a painful screech due to a small spear suddenly piercing it from behind. But its screech was also short-lived as the Void Impale swiftly turned Misty Pixie into motes.

Rin also used her offensive skill, Blade Hunt. Her Raibor Power Slime was the best katana for her because, on top of absorbing a Chronace Metal that Erix made, it had its own enchantment.

With this weapon and her Blade Hunt skill, Rin only moved her Katana slightly before a dark red slash projectile faint dark gold sparks hit the Mist Pixie 30 meters away from her that was about to attack.

After slash stuck it, this Mist Pixie screeched and turned chaotic as hundreds of slashes appeared on its body shortly in just a second before it turned into motes.

'Tear Flow Blade killed it?' Rin raised her eyebrows. 'I just wanted to incapacitate it, but I guess their defense is too weak or Tear Flow Slash is better than I expected.'

Her Blade Hunt skill was also easily a stage 6 offensive-type skill, with multiple types of Slash attacks with unique effects she weaved with a combination of her elemental magic, concepts, Aethir's attributes, and Soul Vices.

The one used—Tear Flow Slash, had the effect that once stuck, the Slash would break down into tiny particles capable of passing through anything, which was made possible via Liberty.

After passing through, its energy would spread in the form of slashes at rapid speed with their own speed heightened via Chronace element's properties and her Speed concept.

Those slashes would wreak havoc inside as they were particularly focused on extreme offense in the area of pure sharpness and speed. The higher the speed, the sharper and stronger the attack would inflict on the target.

[Blade Hunt]

_Type: Offense

_Effect: Any target within the user's sense can be marked with Blade Hunt. Upon the user's will, the weapon wielded by the user will release one out of three desired Slash techniques.

-[Tear Flow Slash]

-[Absolute Rending Slash]

-[Demise Chamber Slash]

_Note: Each Slash has maximum slash power, on top of their individual additional effects from Aethir's applications and Soul Vices.

On the other hand, Lily's offensive skill was called Strings: Weaving Ruination.

She had multiple types of attacks in this one skill, and each one had a different Soul Vice like Rin's offense skill. It was based on her Weave concept, with other concepts and powers around its structure.

And it was a Liberty-based, direct attack.

'Strings: Frigid Expunge.'

Lily's two fingers released a frigid and sparkling icy beam that struck the Mist Pixie before freezing it in a strange greenish-blue ice, which was based on the properties of her Super Exotic Element—Liviorte (Mist x Ice x Life).

The Mist Pixie was frozen and its particles seeped life from it swiftly as it died without being able to do anything.

As the group continued moving, the fog became thicker and their sensory range reduced further. They couldn't sense or observe anything past 40 meters. As such, the trio stayed within 35 meters of each other.

'Jeez, this is so annoying.'

Rin clicked her tongue.

But suddenly, both Lily and Rin felt Erix's connection in the spiritual chat cutting off.

"Erix!" Rin shouted.

"Erix!" Lily also shouted.

'Rin, he's gone,' Lily frowned.

Indeed. Erix was suddenly yanked away by a gust of fog that enveloped him. After ten seconds, he was dropped in the freezing water and saw a Mist Pixie just 40 meters away from him.

Erix immediately swung his fist as his Void Impale spear penetrated the Mist Pixie and obliterated it out of existence.

Erix flew out of the water body but immediately saw five Mist Pixies nearby.

All those Mist Pixies opened their mouths and released a powerful spiraling breath attack at Erix.

A wide grin stretched across his face, 'Alright, let's do this.'

'Oblivion Veil.'

Instantly, a whirling cloak enveloped Erix's body, except for his eyes.

As those five spiralings breathe neared Erix, the Oblivion Veil released fast and precise small lasers at the incoming attack.

Those lasers, upon impact with incoming attacks, immediately created a spherical black point while obliterating the attack, forcing all the incoming attacks to drain into the black hole and destroy them.

Nihilir didn't have specific defensive capabilities. Space as an individual had it, so Nihilir's defensive aspect was also offensive.

Defend? No. Destroying incoming attacks for defense? Yes.

Oblivion Veil's work was to immediately react to any hostile attacks and…attack them with the purpose of destroying the incoming attack.

Those Mist Pixies's attacks were rendered useless and Erix didn't pause after he used his defense skill. He swung his arm with a grin and used Abyssal Impale, marking all five Mist pixies.

In the next second, all five Mist Pixies were snuffed into nothingness.

Meanwhile, Rin and Lily were also separated shortly after Erix was gone, forced to survive and fight individually in this Foggy Disaster.

Sameira, Nira, and Kenshin were facing the toughest challenge in terms of statistics.

In this barren icy world, they had to stay inside a frozen lake while a powerful Wyvern hovered above the lake, ready to attack them.

This challenge required tactics to distract Wyvern, kill some, and grab the floating Starfrost Orbs.

For the Difficult Level Reward, they each had to collect 30 Starfrost Orbs and kill 10 Wyverns.

On the other hand, Lilith, Aria, and Isabella were stuck in the sky facing hordes of flying monsters.

Stuck in the sky because if they descended to a certain point, they would quite literally die as mentioned in the challenge.

The horde of Monsters arrived at intervals, and although they were not super strong, they had annoying abilities that would try to control them, with most being trying to push them down.

For the Difficult Level Reward, they had to survive 10 waves of flying monsters. Easy, but difficult. However, Aria's Animated Spirits were perfect for this, as one of her new skills made her Animated Spirits stronger.

Aria, Isabella, and Lilith would take turns to destroy the horde.

If one was facing the horde, then the other two would focus on recovery while keeping their eyes open for immediate support.

The challenges were not difficult given their current strength and newly created set of skills.

But if they didn't have the new sets of skills, it would've been a disaster.

Group C finished challenged first as Erix, Rin, and Lily emerged back into the playground from the Hunt of the Fog challenge dimension.

[Would you like to receive your reward now? Your 1 hour in Time Dilated Space will be 1 minute in reality.]

"What do you say? Do it now?" Lily asked.

"Yeah! We get stronger, challenge everything, and get stronger," Erix grinned.

"Perfect cycle" Rin chuckled. "There are 11 challenges in this area, and we are three teams. Let's get at least one more than others."

"Let's go. I want to see how much we can get stronger with this," Erix said with anticipation and entered the portal that formed before him.

Rin and Lily also entered their respective portals to receive their rewards.

Although three of them appeared in different dimensions, the said dimensions were all the same.

All three of them arrived before a terrific scenery.

It was a burning sphere 500 meters in radius, while they stood on a lavatic ground with glowing cracks.

The three of them heard the same notification.

[Star Furnace has been activated. You have 1 hour to do whatever here, but if you want to increase your physical stats, enter that burning spherical star furnace and endure the refining.]

[The more you endure the refining at higher levels, the stronger your physical stats will become.]

[You can adjust the level of refining once entering Star Furnace.]

"Hot damn," Erix muttered as he looked at the disastrous sphere.

But he didn't waste time because time was limited here and swiftly shot into the Star Furnace.

Rin and Lily also did the same as they shot into the burning sphere.

Once inside, their expectations were shattered.

In an instant, their entire bodies down to atoms were swiftly frozen and a panel appeared before them.

[Refining level ranges from 1 to 10. Choose your level.]

'Let's start with 1.'

Erix adjusted it to 1 and suddenly felt a streaming heat assaulting his whole body from inside, but he was still frozen!

'Wtf?'

'But this is not painful at all. Alright, this level 1 isn't going to help.'

Erix thought for a moment before he directly adjusted the level 10.

[This is a dangerous level. Make sure your body can follow up with recovery. It is advisable to only use this level if your Bloodline is of Mythic-grade.]

'Do it.'

In an instant, Erix felt such a sudden amount of heat spreading throughout his body that his consciousness blanked out before a primal scream of pain echoed in his mind.

Erix's Bloodline had to activate automatically as his Blood essence was consumed to recover his body from utter destruction!

However, when it recovered and the refinement was established, his stats shot through in increments of 10s every second!
