His vision was filled with large warships, thirty-two in total. In the footage, the entire fleet immediately initiated warp travel, leaving the scene.
“Motherf-! I’m gonna kill you right here, right now!” A burly man standing beside Finn Lewis roared furiously, pulling a pistol from his leg and aiming it at Finn. Although it was merely a pistol, its destructive capabilities far exceeded those of Earthly counterparts.
However, Finn made no move, simply letting the man aim the pistol at his head. While its power surpassed Earthly weapons and was classified as an energy pistol, it had its limitations.
“Stand down!” Jasmine Davis glared at the man, yelling out her command.
“Boss!”
“I said, stand down!” Jasmine Davis lowered her voice, her face frosted over with seriousness.
The burly man gritted his teeth before reluctantly lowering his weapon and throwing Finn a fierce glare. “In thirty-nine hours, I don’t know how you calculated it, but given our current conditions, it’s basically impossible to shake off their pursuit. Even if we change our route now, the chances of escape are less than ten percent,” Jasmine Davis said as she stared at Finn, biting off her words for emphasis.
“I know, that’s why I came to talk to you. You’re not just going to sit here and wait for death, are you?” Finn let out a bitter smile, damn it! Who would have thought that as soon as he had set foot on Death Star, he’d be set up? It seemed that his movements were practically under the watch of his enemies.
Even if they couldn’t monitor him in real time, it was clear they had their own influence on Death Star.
“That’s not important. What is important is how our itinerary was leaked. Judging by the timing of their actions, they haven’t been aware for long. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be coming from so far away. None of my team could have leaked your movement. Of that I assure you. So, how were you exposed? Or have you been under surveillance the whole time?” Jasmine Davis question, her gaze fixed intensely on Finn.
“I’m sorry for getting all of you involved. For now, you can return me to Redglow Star, then you can decide what you want to do next. But I can assure you, I had no idea before I boarded the spaceship, I only just found out,” Finn shook his head as he spoke.
“Return to Redglow Star? Do you think you are safe there? I don’t know who you pissed off, but if they dared to come here so blatantly, you’re no more safe on Redglow Star than on my spaceship. Don’t tell me you’re so naive you think they wouldn’t attack Redglow Star?” Jasmine Davis asked mockingly.
“So what do you propose?” Finn furrowed his brows.
“You haven’t said it yet, how were you exposed? Dunn Monty and Thomas Calvin? Only these two knew your whereabouts,” Jasmine Davis raised her eyebrows, pausing for a moment before continuing, “Relax, we pirates have a code too. We took the money; we’ll deal with the disaster.”
“Fine, if you want to know, then I’ll tell you,” Finn shrugged, turning to look at the elf-like beauty in the bridge and remarked, “I didn’t expect to be plotted against as soon as I set foot on Death Star.”
“Prince… what… what did you say…” Yuka Young stammered, taken aback.
All eyes in the bridge immediately turned to her. It had been odd when Yuka Young had been there when Finn had first arrived on the bridge; hadn’t Jasmine Davis arranged for her own cabin?
“Since I’ve spoken, it means I have evidence. There’s no point pretending anymore,” Finn dismissed her with a wave of his hand.
Immediately after Finn finished speaking, Yuka Young catapulted herself towards Finn with feline agility and speed, winding her right hand around Finn’s neck and aiming a dagger straight at his throat.
“Well, this does intrigue me, Your Highness. How did you find it out? I’m genuinely surprised.” Yuka Young’s face bore no signs of the previous panic, instead she laughed softly and licked her lips, leaning to Finn’s ear to whisper her question.
“Does it matter?” Finn didn’t react at all. Given his reflexes, he could have fended off Yuka Young when she pounced, there were countless ways to counter her—many of them fatal.
But Finn didn’t act. After all, with her current ability, it was nearly impossible for her to harm him. Might as well just see what she wants to say. Impressed by the quick reactions of Jasmine Davis’s crew, who immediately aimed their guns at Yuka Young once she had her dagger at Finn’s throat.
“Of course it’s important. Seems like you, Your Highness, are not as useless as the information they gave us suggested,” Yuka Young said with a small smile, turning her gaze to Jasmine Davis and her crew, adding, “It would be best if you didn’t try anything. Otherwise, the knife in my hand might slip and kill him.”
“What makes you think we’d care about his life?” The burly man who had previously pointed his gun at Finn’s head spoke brusquely.
“Alright then. Anyway, there should be someone who knows he has boarded your ship, right? The one who brought him here was from Internal Affairs. He should return to his position soon. Do you know what the punishment for killing a member of the royal family is? Especially for pirates like you? You’ve all killed people, but there’s a difference between killing someone and killing a royal, right?” Yuka Young smirked at the burly man.
Finn noted, with some satisfaction, that the man went silent at Yuka Young’s words. His royal status did have its uses.
“So, what do you want to do?” Jasmine Davis pushed a man blocking her view aside, seized his gun and held it in her hand while asking.
