Chapter 579: Chapter 573: Keep a Close Watch

Soon around ten people from the crowd raised their hands. Looking at them, Finn Lewis immediately asked, “Actually, it’s quite simple. I’m thinking of setting up a company and might need some of you to join. Of course, only if you’re interested. Naturally, what we’ll be doing involves smartphones. Southland Country’s Chairman Hanson Lee will also be joining us, and we’ll be collaborating with Planet Group to some extent.”

“Mr. Lewis,” someone raised their hand from below.

“Go ahead,” Lewis nodded.

“I want to confirm whether we can invest if we are not in the mobile communications field. Obviously investment is not an issue if we’re manufacturing smartphones.”

“I believe that won’t be necessary. It’s not for any particular reason, but because I have another announcement to make soon. I presume everyone will have abundant investment opportunities then,” Lewis answered cheerfully.

“I have another question. Mr. Lewis, could you explain the advantages of our smartphone over the current ones?” asked the same person.

“No problem. I won’t go into too many details, but firstly, the screen can fold. It employs a graphene screen which is ultra-HD. It also has a smart voice-activated operating system. Don’t compare the system of Company A with ours. In fact, my initial capital was obtained by selling a smart Voice Operating System to Company A, which earned me around 4.8% of their shares. I’ve sold that investment now and have only improved upon it since then, so you don’t need to worry about anything.”

“Thirdly, as you might already know, graphene batteries have numerous advantages, we don’t need to delve into how fast they can charge. With our phone battery, you can go for days without a charge. Fourthly, our phone will employ the latest energy recycling system. This means the heat emitted from the screen or the CPU will be quickly absorbed by the special components inside, reincarnating into weak electric power. This key fact implies that you won’t face overheating no matter how long you use your phone or even if it’s hot weather.”

“Fifthly, it’s waterproof and shockproof. I don’t think I need to explain about waterproofing. Current smartphones can’t achieve this, but ours can. It can maintain its waterproofing up to 200 meters underwater, and I highly doubt anyone will take their phone that deep. As for shockproofing, I believe we can give the legacy brand,Nokia, a run for its money.” Lewis brought this up with a shrug, causing the listeners to burst into laughter.

Nokia is legendary. But the company’s future looks bleak, and it seems set to disappear from people’s view. But the quality Nokia provided with its products is unquestionable. Lewis himself has had first-hand experiences with the robust Nokia devices that could take a battering and keep working just fine.

While the new smartphones may not be that robust, at least they won’t shatter upon a slight fall, like current smartphones do.

“I believe these five advantages are good enough. If you want to hear more, I can provide other examples, like the powerful smartphone camera and so on. These are all basic features, so I won’t go into detail.” With that, Lewis concluded his final point. The crowd fell silent for a second after he finished, then burst into a passionate applause. Some people then immediately shouted, “Mr. Lewis, even if we are not in the manufacturing sector, I think those who are, will struggle with production capacity once a smartphone like this is launched, won’t they?”

The attendees glanced at each other. Of course, they knew their production capabilities would fall short in the short term, as it was clear many of the projected specs involved new technologies. Lewis knew what they were thinking and simply stated, “I will directly authorize you to use these elements under patent. The graphene CPU may not be produced by you, but you can rest assured about the production speed. The battery part will probably be handled by other factories, and I will not interfere in that. The government should open a tender soon.”

“So in other words, we need investors to set up a company similar to Company A. I won’t hold the majority stake, I just need a small percentage, the rest is up to you,” Lewis shrugged and said.

Everyone was immediately eager. “For those who are still interested in what’s left, I am planning to license part of my technology patents. We will hold a special conference later and give our club members priority as partners. Once car technology is mass-produced, it will certainly be necessary to outsource various parts. There will also be other technologies that will be authorized for everyone to use.”

What Lewis said was simple enough to understand. However, he had too many technologies on hand. Many of the technologies he obtained had not been utilized. Lewis wasn’t a god, he couldn’t possibly digest every bit of it even with so many alien hands at his disposal, it would be better to simply register patents and license them, then directly collect patent fees. All these companies together could share the profits, which was quite nice.

The most important thing was that although these items are profitable and the profits aren’t insignificant, Lewis didn’t have the energy to pursue them all besides his other work. He had no shortage of capital either, especially with the significant wealth he had gathered from Belmare Country recently. The expenditure in capital was only about a hundred billion Federal coins, but the profits from Belmare Country reached near a thousand billion Federal coins. That’s a doubled gain in just a few days.

These kinds of profits are enough to drive anyone crazy. If Lewis had not restrained himself, he could have easily caused the collapse of Belmare Country’s economy. This highlights one remarkable trait of Belmare citizens though. They are quite supportive of each other at certain times. In the recent days, Belmare’s government encouraged its citizens to invest, leading to a significant number having entered the currency market impelling a bullish cycle. Despite the overall slow bearish trend, the currency market rebounded after its initial fall.

This caused less shock amongst the general public in Belmare compared to the initial response. The situation appeared to have stabilized and showed signs of vitality. This allowed many media outlets in Belmare to rejoice, claiming that the economy had passed its preliminary crisis and the market had regained favor. The propaganda from the media and official statements led to an increasing number of Belmarian citizens entering the currency market with a bullish mindset, causing even the stock market to start rebounding.
