“Sir, no matter the reason, please put your hands on your head where we can see them, and then come with us to the station. We will conduct a thorough investigation,” the police officer stated directly.
“Sorry, but that’s impossible. They initiated the attack. My actions can only be considered as excessive self-defense,” Finn Lewis responded squarely.
“Whether it’s excessive self-defense can only be determined after an investigation.”
“What about when he ordered his bodyguards to cripple me just now? I heard it. And they started it. Many people in this restaurant saw it. You’re arresting me but not them; how is that justified?” Finn Lewis pointed at several people on the ground as he spoke.
“Regardless, you need to come with us. I advise you not to resist. I believe you understand your current situation.” The police officer was a bit apprehensive, noticing that this young man showed no signs of nervousness despite being aimed at with two pistols and several assault rifles.
Such a person could either be fearless, insane, or highly confident in himself. Regardless of the reason, they were definitely not an ordinary figure.
“Hey, you over there. What’s your name? We’re not done here today,” Finn Lewis looked up and spoke in the Flame Nation language, then repeated it in Belmare country language.
Upon hearing Finn’s words, the police officer’s heart skipped a beat. Anyone daring to say such things was clearly aware that they definitely would not be left here. And given what happened, Finn was someone they must take back. Therefore, it was obvious that Finn Lewis had a significant background.
“Mitsubishi Consortium, Yoshikazu. I’d like to see how you plan to settle today’s matter,” Yoshikazu was taken aback. He hadn’t expected Finn to speak the Belmare language, but he scoffed and revealed his name. Whether it was his character, the circumstances, or the fact he was the heir to the Mitsubishi Consortium, none allowed for any sign of hesitation.
Yoshikazu spoke in the Flame Nation language. The surrounding police officers were somewhat taken aback. The leading middle-aged officer hesitated, then immediately whispered something to a fellow officer, who then turned and headed outside, likely to report the situation.
However, before he could exit, two people pushed open the restaurant doors and entered. The two officers at the door hesitated, then quickly reached out to stop them, “I’m sorry, but the police are currently conducting an investigation. The restaurant isn’t open now, so please wait outside.”
The two men who entered were around thirty years old. The man in front glanced at the police, surveyed the situation inside, and directly reached into his pocket. This move immediately made the officers nervous, and two SWAT members pointed their guns at them.
“Calm down, we’re on the same side.” The man subliminally spoke before slowly taking his hand out of the pocket on his chest, holding a legal document.
“From the General Staff Department, agents of the Supervision Office.” While speaking, this man slid the document towards the officers.
The appearance of this document implied the situation was serious. Yoshikazu became instantly anxious. Although he hadn’t broken any laws in Flame Nation, any normal person in contact with these authorities would have a nervous feeling.
No sane person wanted to deal with these people. However, Yoshikazu quickly regained his composure, remembering that he was a foreigner, a Belmare citizen. He had visited Flame Nation many times and knew that while foreigners didn’t exactly have special privileges there, certain departments still treated them with great respect, avoiding offending them whenever possible.
“May I ask, what’s the matter?” After carefully verifying the authenticity of the document, the leading officer spoke cautiously.
“Well, this isn’t a big issue. We’ll be taking over here. Soon, someone will come to handle things. Take your men outside and disperse the crowd. We’ll be taking over from here,” the man took a brief look at the situation and continued.
The officer hesitated for a moment, glanced at Finn Lewis, and then inquired, “What about that man?”
“He’s one of ours.” The man was straightforward and answered without so much as glancing at Finn Lewis.
“Alright then, we’ll head out. We’ll be just outside, let us know if you need anything.” The middle-aged officer thought for a moment and motioned his hand. It was clear that they weren’t equipped to handle this situation and believed it was best to remain ignorant about certain things.
“Let’s move out.” The officer turned to his group, gave the command, and led the way out. The rest quickly holstered their weapons and followed the middle-aged man out. Suddenly, only a dozen or so individuals were left in the room, along with seven people lying unconscious on the ground. The ambulance was minutes away, and the five young men accompanying Yoshikazu did not dare make a peep.
Finn’s combat skills were too strong. The other party had such skills, yet they couldn’t even hold a cup of coffee steady. It was clear they came looking for trouble. Everyone here was intelligent and knew when to hold their tongue. What was important was that Flame Nation’s official department had become involved, and it seemed that this man was also from the Flame Nation’s official department.
“Gentlemen, although you’re from the Flame Nation official department, it doesn’t mean you can bypass standard procedures. We’ve not committed any legal violations in your country. If there are any issues, we need to inform our contacts first,” Yoshikazu decided to let go of the matter for the time being and investigate further later.
“We’re sorry, but we need to investigate this matter first,” the man who had just walked in directly interjected. He then moved past them and walked towards Finn Lewis. Having disclosed their identities earlier, Finn Lewis naturally had heard it.
Of course, Finn didn’t believe that they had just received the information and rushed over. Even a god wouldn’t be that fast. It was obvious that these people had been following him all along, fearing Finn Lewis would get into trouble. Moreover, Finn was certain that there was definitely someone from their department in the restaurant earlier. They hadn’t appeared because Finn Lewis didn’t need them to.
