“Grandpa, it’s me.” Kay Lee quickly got out of the car and rushed to greet the elderly man. Finn Lewis also hurriedly alighted, presenting the prepared tea leaves to the elder. The two boxes of tea weren’t the premium Cloud Mist tea, but Nightingale Tea. Although its effects were weakest, it was the most suitable for the elder’s body. Once the two boxes of tea were finished, he could then start drinking Cloud Mist tea.

“Not going to introduce your grandpa?” As Finn stepped into the yard, the old man, holding Kay’s hand, pointed at him and asked with a smile.

“Grandpa, his name is Finn Lewis. He’s… he’s my friend.” Kay responded shyly, her face slightly blushing.

“Friend? A boyfriend, right? You’ve grown up now, your grandpa has never seen you bring a boy home before. His name is Finn, am I right?” Kay’s grandpa looked at Finn and asked with a smile.

“Hello, Grandpa.” Finn stepped forward and readily greeted him, following Kay’s lead.

“Good, good, a fine-looking young man, you’re from the North by the sound of your accent?” Kay’s grandpa asked, smiling with a ruddy complexion.

“Yes, I am from the North. My hometown is in the Manchester region.” Finn answered honestly.

“Hmm, good, you can understand my speech then, right?” Although the old man spoke a mixture of West Swallow dialect and a touch of Beijing accent, likely picked up during his younger days serving as a guard officer.

“Yes.” Even if it was a pure dialect, it wasn’t too challenging for Finn.

“Come, let’s go inside.” The old man smiled and pointed toward the house.

“Little Lewis is here, let me introduce you.” Amelia Lee, standing aside, walked out with a smile and started speaking.

Although Finn had been having a conversation with the old man, he had been observing the surroundings. Three middle-aged men followed closely behind him. The oldest was around fifty years old, and the other two were a bit younger, probably in their forties. There were also two women, also in their forties. As he arrived, Finn had already instructed Olivia Thatcher to bring out all the information about Kay’s grandfather’s family.

Based on the information Finn had read earlier, he quickly recognised who they were. Kay was the daughter of the old man’s eldest son, which could only mean the oldest among the men was Kay’s father. His outfit alone was enough to identify him, all handmade clothing worth probably ten thousand or even more. His features bore some resemblance to Kay. A woman much more good-looking than Amelia was standing next to him, probably in her thirties. However, she was well maintained and looked like she just passed thirty. Her exact age was difficult to determine.

The other two middle-aged men were not dressed badly, but certainly not on par with Kay’s father. They must be Kay’s father’s brothers. The other middle-aged women should be Kay’s aunts. From their gaze, it was evident the relationship between them and Kay and Amelia was not good.

It was understandable when thought about. These siblings were all brought up by Kay’s father, Cypress Davis. They all relied on him for their riches, naturally taking his side. They wouldn’t show kindness to Amelia Lee, who was divorced from Cyprus, let alone consider her part of the Davis Clan. She was merely considered as Cypress’s friend.

The old man had his own temper in this case and didn’t bother introducing Finn to his children. However, Amelia certainly couldn’t neglect this. Although she might not care, Kay could not possibly cut ties with Cypress. Blood ties were something she could never escape from in this lifetime. Therefore, Amelia took the initiative to step forth and introduce Finn.

This revealed that Amelia was indeed a nice woman. It was hard to understand why Cypress would choose the woman beside him over her. However, Finn refused to judge. He wouldn’t let Amelia’s good intentions go to waste. After all, these people were all elders to Kay. Finn could give them at least this level of respect. Hence, he obediently stepped over to Amelia.

The old man seemingly didn’t care about this either. He would ignore them for Kay’s sake, but it wasn’t right for Finn to act the same on his first visit.

“This is Kay’s dad.” Amelia first introduced Cypress Davis to Finn.

“Hello, Uncle Davis.” Finn wouldn’t make such a basic mistake of calling him Uncle Lee directly.

“Hmm.” Cypress Davis maintained a straight face. It was the old man’s birthday, and he wouldn’t put on a sour face for Finn. But that didn’t mean he would show a friendly face to him either. His daughter should be with someone who was an equal match, not just any person. Although Finn looked decent with his clothing, who knew if Finn was a kept man?

If he hadn’t received the news in such a rush, Cypress Davis would have had someone investigate Finn. As Kay was his daughter, he naturally cared. Even though he didn’t have a good relationship with Kay.

Amelia introduced Finn to several other individuals who are part of Cypress’s group. As expected, they were Kay’s uncles and aunts. The two uncles were Pine Davis and Willow Davis, along with the two aunts, Melody Davis and Finn Davis. Amelia didn’t introduce the woman standing next to Cypress. Even though she wanted to prevent the situation from becoming awkward for the sake of her daughter and Finn, it didn’t mean she would show kindness to Cypress. It was impossible for her to avoid some matters.

Finn chuckled bitterly in his heart. The relationships were truly complicated. However, it was fine as they didn’t usually live together. They only gathered when it was the old man’s birthday. The old man seemed to be the only one who lived here all the time.

“Kay also has a younger uncle. He went to the county town to buy something and isn’t home right now. I’ll introduce him to you when he returns.” After the introductions, everyone walked toward the courtyard. Amelia quietly said to Finn, smiling.

One more. Finn was surprised. The information he received didn’t mention that Cypress Davis had another brother. However, Amelia said it, so it couldn’t be false. While pondering, Finn softly said, “Thank you, Auntie.”

“Hmm, Kay’s dad might want to have a chat with you today. If he says something awkward, please bear with it. Don’t upset the old man. It’s not good for his health at his age. As for everything else, it’s your own business. Don’t feel too much pressure.” Amelia looked worried and gently reminded Finn. For Kay’s side of things, she had done her share of responsibility during this period of time.
