Chapter 311: “Great Deal”
West wants to cry but has no tears. He tried to struggle, but Sean didn’t even look at him. He went back to play with the Bowtruckles.
Seeing Sean like this, West felt like he ate his aunt’s undercooked fruit raspberry pie and Hagrid’s rock cake.
One must know that if that magical animal egg was put on the black market, it could be sold for at least 200 Galleons.
West knew he would be having a hard day and adjusted his mind. West silently looked at the boy in front of him.
He didn’t lie before, and he intended to delay time.
However, what West did not expect was that he not only had a talent for handling magical animals but also had an outstanding talent for magic spells. This kid was only in the third grade. With the Disillusionment Curse and other spells that he used, many adult wizards who stepped into society were inferior to him.
Moreover, his mind is quick, his judgment is accurate, and his attack is also fast. West’s eyes suddenly lit up, and his eyes became eager.
“Sean,” West shouted, “I’m going to make you an offer.”
Sean glanced back at him with a smile on his lips.
“I decided to make another wave of compensation to you.” West said.
West looked solemn and even sighed, “Hogwarts is getting bigger and bigger. The number of students is increasing. Professors work very hard, and students often can’t get one-on-one teaching. It’s not good for the growth of the students.”
“Get to the point.” Sean didn’t change his face.
“Um,” West smiled, “I am willing to give some magical magic props and rare materials personally. I found a few books, and personally, I’m not particularly eager to delve into spells. Take it as a way to thank Hogwarts for teaching me and Ravenclaw House for taking care of me.”
Although he was determined to have a good relationship with Sean and escape the Shrieking Shack, giving away so much of his inventory might be the only way he can do it now.
Sean didn’t say much, just spread his hands, “Where’s the stuff?”
“In the suitcase. If you’re worried that I’ll run away if you unlock the spell on me, you can open it yourself. Newt should have taught you when using it.”
Sean tried the spell silently in his heart and cast it on West’s suitcase. Nothing happened.
Dave went in and turned around, said there was no problem, and released Naja to stand guard outside.
“Undo the spell on me, and I will show you around. Don’t you need a tour guide?”
But Sean just walked into the suitcase.
This suitcase is pretty much like Newt’s, and West himself seems to be deeply influenced by Newt. The interior of the suitcase, especially the structure, placement, and accessories, are almost the same as Newt’s.
There are several photos by the table on the vertical ladder, including a photo of West holding an egg with Hagrid. It seems that West was still in school at that time.
There is also a group photo of West and his family. In the photo, there is an old lady. West is hugging her affectionately. It seems that it is Newt’s former assistant, Bunty.
Another photo next to it also confirms Sean’s guess. The photo looks old. There is a group of people in the picture. The young Newt and his wife Tina are standing on the far left. A wizard somewhat similar to him should be his older brother, Theseus.
On the far right is a young witch with a round face. She turns her head to look at the Scamander from time to time with a lovely smile on her face. She is probably Bunty. Beside her was a black witch that Sean didn’t remember. She looked very young.
Surrounded by these people are a man and a woman who are smiling happily. The woman is elegant, with a smile on her face, and she is hugging the man tightly.
The man is a big, chubby man. He has a short beard. He looks energetic. But the two look at each other from time to time.
It should be the young couple, Jacob Kowalski and Queenie Goldstein.
Sean put down the photo with a slight smile.
West’s voice came from outside, “Sean, on the right side, contains my collection. You can just-“
Sean ignored him and was not in a hurry to rummage through the box. He looked around first. Unlike Newt’s suitcase, West’s suitcase doesn’t contain many magical animals.
In the first mountain forest area, two big-headed monsters, one tall and one short, were staring at Sean curiously. You could tell by their figure that they were a male and a female.
In the nearby grass area, Abraxans and Granians are running together. Both horses are the same kind as Pegasus. Although they are collectively called Pegasus, they are small in size and extremely fast. The Abraxans are the horses that pull Beauxbaton’s Carriage.
The point is that although they are all horses, different horses cannot be bred together normally, and the two horses raised by West seem to have a very strong relationship. The female Abraxan is stronger than the male Granian.
The same goes for other areas. West does not have many magical animals, but they all share one thing. One male and one female.
The only exception was the Wampus Cat, who ignored West. Sean also let out Pudding. Wampus Cats are not social creatures but have the habit of protecting their own kind. Pudding is a bit bigger than West’s, and the two played together very quickly.
Sean didn’t find any strange or abnormal animals, so he was relieved. If this guy and Hagrid were allowed to hang out every day, God knew what unnatural things they would come up with.
Outside the suitcase, West explained, “Sean, have you seen it? Those little cuties! The animals in my suitcase have basically been bred successfully, and the cubs will be released to nature after I raise them. I helped restore the population of sirens in Greece. They were all endangered. You see how meaningful and great this is?”
Sean looked at the deep water area with his head. The male siren lying on the reef looked haggard. The female siren was much better-looking.
The siren saw Sean and was just about to make a sound when bubbles appeared in the lake, and a slender arm dragged the siren down with a force that didn’t match its appearance.
All that remained on the lake’s surface were the churning water bubbles.
Sean’s brow twitched. He probably knew what West’s restoration method was.
However, the magical animals here seem to be well taken care of. If West mistreats them, then he will definitely try to release them from their captives.
Sean walked to the box and opened it casually.
“Interesting.” Sean didn’t expect much at first. After all, there are a lot of magic props and materials in Diagon Alley. Unexpectedly, there are many good things in West’s box.
Sean ignored most of the things that could be bought with money. In the end, he walked out of the suitcase with a few things in his hands.
Sean returned to the dim room and then put things in front of West.
A book, a binocular, a nearly transparent cloak, and a pot of light red asparagus.
Sean asked with a smile, “Mr. West, am I being kind?”
West looked down. Four items, indeed a small amount for his inventory, but.
An alchemist created the binocular. It can not only see far away but also have night vision. It can also automatically decipher the Confundus Charm in the field of vision. Although it can’t decipher everything, it can deal with some slippery magical animals and wizards that are trying to be sneaky.
That cloak is the Invisibility Cloak. This invisibility cloak comes from an abnormally shaped invisible monster in the Far East. The locals made this invisibility cloak after the monster died of old age. It also has an additional magic effect and performs far better than an ordinary invisibility cloak.
And that strange pot of asparagus is something else. West hasn’t researched the secret of this pot yet, but he knows one thing. This thing must have been contaminated with the blood of some kind of creature to become like this.
Sean squatted on the ground, smiled, and said, “I only picked these, Mr. West. Shouldn’t you be glad?”
“Yes, yes…” West raised his head and showed a smile.
“Are you crying?”
“No, I’m weeping with joy.”
After West calmed down with difficulty, Sean had already put away his things.
West sighed, “Isn’t it time to untie me? What about my Niffler?”
Sean didn’t delay and directly untied the spell. West fell down suddenly and then rubbed his waist. Sean pulled the Niffler out from the ring and handed it to him.
After receiving the Niffler, quickly inspecting it carefully and finding that it was not harmed, West breathed a sigh of relief and then began to rub the Niffler.
Sean ignored him and walked straight towards the exit.
“Hey, Sean.” West called him.
Sean waved his hand, “Don’t worry, I’m not a bad guy. I put your wand in the suitcase for you. I won’t tell Professor Scamander if you still go to Hagrid. I might.”
West muttered and then suddenly regained his excitement, “Sean, are you interested in cooperating?!”
“If you find any other rare magical animal eggs, you can send them to me, and I will pay for them.”
“I know it’s something that you’re interested in, but I don’t need money.”
Sean turned his head and showed a puzzled expression, “Huh?”
West’s eyes were shining, “Your Winged Demon, do you want to breed it?”
He wanted to leave directly, but after hesitating for a while, he still said, “When he wants to find a girlfriend, sure. I don’t mind if he wants to mate and everything.”
West was overjoyed, “It’s a deal!”
After Sean left, West tidied up in the Shrieking Shack and finally picked up the suitcase.
“What a luck to breed that! However, it would be good if I could have a good relationship with Sean. Apart from the Winged Demon, he must have raised other animals. Maybe there are mutants like his Winged Demon.” West cast an invisibility spell on himself and walked out of the Shrieking Shack.
He looked in the direction of Hagrid’s cabin, finally shook his head with a sigh, and walked towards Hogsmeade station.
Just as he was thinking, there was a sudden movement in front of him.
Several professors were discussing something, and the one in the middle was Newt Scamander, whom he feared most.
“Merlin’s underpants…” West shuddered and immediately tiptoed towards the corner of the alley.
At this moment, Newt’s worried voice can be heard.
“Jacob… are you sure?”
