Chapter 197: “Grindelwald’s Action”

A thin layer of frost was formed in the office on the double-height latticed French windows. Although the fireplace in the room was burning brightly, the temperature was colder at that moment.

Grindelwald’s wand trembled. It seemed to feel the wrath of its master.

“Albus…” Grindelwald said, “It seems that you’re speculation is wrong.”

Although the two were anxious about Sean’s disappearance, they were not too worried because of one thing. The terrifying devil is hidden in Sean’s body. But the ‘Pride’ will wreak havoc on the earth once Sean dies.

The wizarding world has been calm these days, and there have been no terrible disasters. It may prove that Sean’s life is not in danger at all.

Dumbledore speculated that Sean might be trapped somewhere in the castle. For thousands of years, even a wizard like him could not fully discover the secrets of the castle. Grindelwald was even very relaxed. He felt that Sean might have encountered some secret and was gaining some kind of benefit from it.

After some discussion, Grindelwald used his Seer ability.

However, what they didn’t expect was that a scene would appear, which was the scene of Sean lying on the ground with blood on his face.

Seeing that Dumbledore didn’t speak, Grindelwald said coldly, “Albus, you don’t even know that your students have been kidnapped?”

He waved his hand, and another picture emerged. It was a man with a hood. His face could not be seen clearly, his feet were bare, and his expression was gloomy.

“Gellert,” Dumbledore finally spoke, with serious eyes and a complicated expression, “We are still not sure about the relationship between that person and Sean.”

Grindelwald retorted, “Albus, you and I have known each other for so long. Don’t you know the symbolic meaning of the prophecy? Sean is in danger, and that person is the source of the danger. You are the world’s greatest wizard, Albus Dumbledore, use your brains.”

“Typical Medieval ascetic wizard clothing. I knew that those kinds of people are not dead.”

Dumbledore didn’t know what he was thinking. He looked at the ground and said slowly, “But I’m not sure if they kidnapped Sean.”

“Yeah? Then tell me. How do a wizard with the protection of a phoenix feather and a wizard with a group of terrifying and magical creatures coincidentally appear and happen in such a predicament?” Grindelwald said sarcastically.

He raised his head to look at the man in the hood. His gaze was cold, “A group of dead fools are still dreaming their stupid dreams.”

Grindelwald raised his brows, and his tone was cold, “I want to see what happens if you cut all of their limbs now.”

Dumbledore frowned, “Gellert, don’t be stupid.”

“Impulse?” Grindelwald chuckled, “I just talked with their descendants, I think—”

He showed an expression of sudden realization, “If I tell them that their ancestors who died a thousand years ago are now appearing, what will their expressions be?”

“I have to tell them that some of the descendants have been acting in secret, following the will of the old ones, to save his heir. Don’t you like that word? Well, for the sake of world peace and not waking up ‘Pride’, I have to find out who’s pulling all the strings.”

“Unfortunately, I, Gellert Grindelwald, as an old man with half a foot in the grave, am too old to reason with them. I can apprehend them all and cast Cruciatus and Imperius to get the information we need.”

“Albus, what do you think of this plan? Isn’t it kind and generous?” Grindelwald smiled happily, but the anger in his eyes was still burning.

Dumbledore looked at him seriously, “Gellert, the people behind the scenes are not necessarily among those people, and once you make a move, the entire wizarding world would know. You have to understand one thing, they control the upper echelons of wizards all over the world.”

Grindelwald smiled contemptuously, “Controlled? Albus, times have changed a long time ago. Those self-proclaimed nobles, what else do they have besides the legacy of magic and Galleons? They’re just a bunch of fools. If I stood up and shouted to rule Muggles again, as long as they show their strength, they will still help me.”

After the word ‘Rule Muggles’ popped out, Dumbledore’s expression became more serious, “Gellert, put away your thoughts.”

Grindelwald smiled, “Albus, we used to be so obsessed with power. Don’t you understand? Only when you reach the peak will you not be restricted by something like power.”

Anger rose in Dumbledore’s eyes, “Gellert…”

Grindelwald chuckled, “Forget it. Since I have promised you, I will still keep my promise. But the question now is, what should Sean do?”

Dumbledore said nothing.

“There is nothing you can do. The great Albus Dumbledore is not that great,” Grindelwald waved his hand, those illusory scenes returned to the crystal ball like fog, his wand fluttered Into his hand, “and the cruel, unruly Gellert Grindelwald always has some unflattering ideas that would work in this situation.”

Grindelwald disappeared in place.

Dumbledore was the only one left in the office. He looked at the crystal ball, and doubts flashed in his eyes.

—–

A figure suddenly appeared in Greece beside a fountain in a small village square.

It’s Grindelwald.

He made a detour and after a few casual flicks of his wand, he sneered. A narrow wall in the middle of the townhouse shook, and gradually, the houses on both sides began to move outwards, and the sleeping owner in the house didn’t notice it at all.

A new house appeared in the middle, and Grindelwald walked up the stairs casually. While waving his wand, he easily pushed open the door. He felt as relaxed and comfortable as if returning to his home.

The decorations in the room are all in a typical ancient Greek style. After walking through a spacious corridor, Grindelwald came to a bedroom. A skinny, short creature appeared in front of him.

It stretched out a long finger and said a few words to Grindelwald.

Grindelwald shook his head, “Your master doesn’t even teach you English?”

The house elf didn’t say anything. He fell to the ground stiffly, watching the man who broke in suddenly walk into his master’s bedroom.

Soon, he heard a terrified voice in the bedroom.

He wanted to rescue his master, but the intruder’s magic was so powerful that not even a house elf could break free.

In the bedroom, a middle-aged man with a beard opened his eyes wide in surprise and horror.

He spoke English with a blunt Greek accent and shouted in disbelief, “Mr. Grindelwald?!”

Grindelwald smiled, “Fyodor, it seems that you still remember me.”

Fyodor gulped and said tremblingly, “Mr. Grindelwald, I don’t know what you want from me. My father passed away more than ten years ago.”

“Of course, I know that your father was a good man. He was shrewd and brave, so when he proposed to withdraw from the saints, I graciously agreed to him. It’s a pity that I couldn’t attend his funeral, but we have more important things to do now.”

“Tell me.” Frajos stammered.

His father once worked for Grindelwald. After Grindelwald founded Nurmengard, his father believed that their leader had betrayed his original belief, and he chose to quit. Fyodor still remembers his father bad-mouthed Grindelwald when he was drunk, thinking that he was a cowardly and unprincipled betrayer.

Fyodor met Grindelwald when he was a child and never dared to forget his terrifying magic.

The thundercloud that covered the sky became a nightmare in Fyodor’s heart. He watched three people being burned into ashes by the lightning from the thundercloud.

Fyodor trembled slightly. Grindelwald didn’t care about his attitude now. He sat on the living chair in the bedroom as if he was familiar with it and then crossed his legs.

“Fyodor, I need you to do me a favor.”

“Please tell me.”

“Fyodor, I know who your ancestors are.” Grindelwald smiled. He waved his hand, the flames lit up, and a name appeared in the air.

Mopsus.

Fyodor’s pupils shrank.

Mopsus, a famous Seer and wizard in the ancient Greek era. After thousands of years passed, Fyodor’s family is the purest descendant of Mopsus.

No one knows their true identities except for a few families and themselves, who are also descended from powerful wizards in ancient Greece.

Grindelwald smiled, easily changed his sitting position, and said, “Fyodor, my request is very simple. I was hoping you could take me to meet those people, those who have inherited the blood from an ancient wizard. You are all well hidden, but fortunately, I know you.”

Fyodor swallowed hard. There is an agreement among these families that they cannot reveal their true identities to each other, nor can they reveal those hidden addresses. Magic spells witness this kind of agreement. Although it is not as powerful as those ancient spells, he will also suffer considerable punishment if he violates it.

Fyodor lowered his head, rolled his eyes a few times, and finally decided to answer honestly.

“Mr. Grindelwald, you should be able to understand that magic spells bind our families. I can’t tell others about other families or their addresses.”

Grindelwald thought for a while and said softly, “That’s true. I thought about this before I came here. This is indeed a big problem on your part.”

Fyodor wiped the sweat from his forehead and said with a smile, “It would be great if you understand…”

“That’s not what I meant, Fyodor,” Grindelwald interrupted him, “I’m asking you to take me at the cost of your life.”

Fyodor’s face turned pale all of a sudden.

In Hogwarts.

At the entrance and exit of the room, Sean stood up straight.

Professor Dumbledore is a smart person. Even with Occlumency, Sean doubts that even if he doesn’t use Legilimency, he can still find out that he is lying.

Sean looked towards the entrance and exit. At this point in time, there should be no one in the lounge, and there is a high probability that he will not be found. But what about his excuse?

Should he say that he passed out, didn’t know anything, and reappeared in the castle?

Sean has no other options. He would just have to tell the whole story if he were found out. He hissed against the wall, and after a burst of white light, the stone door opened again.

Sean poked his head out. It was already midnight, and there was no one in the Slytherin common room. He tiptoed out and quickly slipped out of the Slytherin common room.

Sean heaved a sigh of relief after stepping on the castle’s stone floor again, and he walked towards the professor’s office.
