Chapter 186 City [3]
Chapter 186 City [3]
BOOOM!!
The earth-shaking sound reverberated through the air as the once-firmly closed door burst open, sending debris and metal particles scattering in all directions.
The view inside the city was now laid bare before us.
"Ahh, fuck," Elysia cursed softly, her eyes wide as she surveyed the scene before us. "A-are we going to be alright?"
"Maybe," I mumbled softly as I looked ahead.
Within the inside of the city, hordes and hordes of blood beasts stood quietly without making any move.
As if it were any normal day for them, they stood in one place motionlessly, without any movement, even when the door that separated us from them was torn into pieces.
"Why are they not moving?" Nadya asked, squinting her eyes as she looked at them.
"They are hibernating," I replied as I observed them.
"Until they smell or taste blood from any living beings, they will remain that way."
"So that's why you told us to be careful about not getting our blood spilled," Elysia remarked, nodding her head as she turned to look at me.
"Not really," I replied, shrugging my shoulders. "That's one of the reasons, but not the main reason."
"Then what's the main reason?" Nadya asked, glancing at me with curiosity.
"..... There are higher-level blood beasts that can take control of blood present on another person's body from their wounds... sucking them out until they die," I explained, and as I continued, their expressions turned equally serious.
"Is that even possible?" Elysia asked, her fists clenching and unclenching as she struggled to contain her anxiety.
"It is. So be careful and stick close to me at all times. No matter what happens, do not get separated from me," I urged, addressing both of them directly.
"Especially you, Elysia. Don't try to take everything on yourself."
"Fine," Elysia replied, pouting slightly.
"Don't do that, sister. It doesn't look good on you," Nadya remarked, seizing the opportunity to tease Elysia.
"...What? But don't you always do that?" She rebuked, looking back at her sister.
"I do it because it looks good on me."
"Bu—."
"Okay, both of you shut up," I interjected sharply, making both of them stop and pout at the same time.
"Sigh..."
Sighing heavily, I extended my hand towards both of them.
Nadya grinned widely before she jumped at me, and I caught her, placing my hand under her hips for support while she intertwined her hands behind my neck, her ample breasts touching the side of my face.
"Let's go, Daddy~~."
My lips twitched slightly at her words as I glanced at Elysia, who had a disturbed look on her face.
"Ahem." With a fake cough, I extended my hand towards her.
After a slight hesitation, she took my hand, holding it firmly.
{Wing's of the phoenix.}
With that thought, beautiful wings of pure white flames started to emerge from my back, their light illuminating the area around me while both girls looked at the wings with nostalgia.
"I miss those days when you'd burn your shirt whenever you used those wings and I got to see you naked," Nadya mumbled in my ear, her gaze still fixed on my wings.
"Me too." Both Nadya and I glanced at Elysia, who had blurted out those words.
"I-I mean when we used to be close and travel together," she stammered, trying to correct herself.
"I believe you, sister," Nadya replied with a smile that didn't match the coldness in her eyes.
"Sigh..."
Sighing again, I fluttered my wings twice to get the hang of it before soaring into the sky.
With swift movements, I entered the inner part of the city, flying over the heads of the hordes of blood beasts below as soon as I entered inside I also stopped sending mana in my wings as it was increasingly difficult to sustain them.
Closing my eyes, as I activated my star Sense making a 3D map of the area around me.
{Star Sense.}
{Space Wrap.}
With a single thought we crossed fifty meters of distance while still being in the air.
"What actually happened here?" Elysia couldn't help but ask as she looked solemnly at the blood beasts.
"...Well, they were far too dangerous," I replied nonchalantly, "So they were killed off."
The whole race of blood beasts was born from the twisted experiments of the dark church.
They were the ones who made them and also the reason for their end.
If they had been successful in perfecting them, they might have created a race with unlimited potential.
"Nadya," I mumbled as we glided through the tall buildings.
"Yes, Neil?"
"Could you kindly keep your peaks away from my mouth?"
I gently asked as her breasts kept brushing against my face, and I was certain she was doing it on purpose.
"Why? Don't you like it?" With a mischievous smile, she asked.
".... That's not the point," I grumbled as I lightly bit on her nipple.
"Neil! I'm sensitive there!"
"So don't tempt me."
"But I want to," she purred softly, like a cat trying to get my attention.
"Not the right time, Nadya."
"Tonight?"
"....Tonight."
"Yeah!" Exclaiming in happiness, she hugged my head, burying my face in her ample breasts.
"You guys do know that I can hear, right?" Elysia grumbled, glaring at us.
"Of course we do," Nadya replied, glancing at her. "So please don't disturb us at night."
"Urgh..." Elysia groaned in frustration, but in the end, she kept her mouth shut.
"By the way Nei—"
"GRAAAAA!!!"
Before Nadya's words could be completed, a resonating sound reached our ears, followed by the shattering of glass filling the air.
I tensed up and heightened all my senses as I looked around.
From the corner of my eye, I noticed two blood beasts standing inside a very tall building right above us.
"SCHATTER!!"
Both of them held spears made of crimson blood in their hands as they threw them at us, like some kind of juvenile breaking glass forcing our attention towards them.
"Fuck," I cursed softly.
I didn't have time to form a connection with another node, so twisting my body in mid-air, I made a turn, free-falling down to the ground right above the horde of blood beasts.
SWISH!!
With a hair's breadth distance, the spear missed Elysia, whose hand I was holding tightly.
"Neil! You said they were in hibernation!" Elysia shouted at me, her anger evident in her voice.
"Not all of them," I replied softly, using Star Sense to connect with the node right beside the blood beasts.
"Then tell us beforehand!" She exclaimed again, but I just ignored her.
"Nadya."
"Neil."
"Be ready."
"Hey! Don't ignore me—"
{Space Wrap.}
Nadya nodded in reply, and as she did, the space around us disoriented, and within a few seconds, we found ourselves right beside the blood beasts.
"GRAAA."
They let out a scream as they both ran at us, one attacking me while the other aimed at Elysia and Nadya.
Using Star Energy, I sent all of it to the bracelet that I was wearing, making it bigger.
With both hands, I held the chain tightly and swung it around as the blood beast charged towards me, forming another spear from its own blood and launching it at me.
Swish.
Twisting my body slightly, I avoided the blow of its attack while using the chain to wrap around its hand.
Bang!!
Crack!!
A loud banging sound echoed in the area as I headbutted the beast, making it stagger backwards.
Using the chain again, I wrapped it around its hand, avoiding its fangs before stepping back and placing my knees on its back. With all my force, I strangled it.
"Graa."
It let out a soft groan from its mouth before its eyes fell from their sockets due to the force I was applying on its face.
"Brust!!"
The head of the beast burst open, its brain and scattered bones filling the room and soaking my clothes.
"Fuuu."
I exhaled softly before I looked back at the sisters.
They were both fighting with another beast, Nadya engaging in frontal assault while Elysia assisted her from behind using her spear. It didn't take them long to get rid of the other beast.
"That was easy," Nadya mumbled as she walked towards me, while Elysia headed towards the shattered window.
"I need a hug," she demanded, opening her arms wide as she approached me.
"Neil." But before I could comply, Elysia's solemn voice made me look at her.
"What?" I asked.
"I see humans."
