Chapter 166: Waiting
"Is there anything that we should do?" Lin Xiao asked. He had already successfully deduced one, but he was not sure that he would be able to deduce the next one without any clues whatsoever.
The man shook his head. "The first test is comprehension test and you have already passed the moment you come here. You just need to rest and wait for the next instructions."
"Thank you very much."
The four of them cupped their hands and then walked to the large area. They picked a secluded place and sat down while looking at the people around them. Everyone was keeping their vigilance but no one dared to make the first move.
With those two guards watching them and told them that they were not tasked to do anything for the time being, they were all very quiet. It was as if they were all only children who was waiting for further instruction after being reprimanded. No one dared to create trouble.
"They’re already at Golden Core Stages," Sui Wenyan’s voice was low and filled with fear.
She knew very well that no matter how powerful Foundation Establishment Cultivators were, they could never match up against Golden Core Stage Cultivators. Those cultivators were very powerful and couldn’t be measured by normal means anymore.
Lin Xiao nodded. He noticed that too. "They’re just guards?"
"Probably teachers?"
"Huh?"
"Sun Dragon Academy is not the best academy for no reason." Sui Wenyan’s eyes were filled with longing. "It’s basically the best academy where every sect could send their disciples in as long as they’re capable. The academy allowed freedom for their disciples and the only thing we need to do is to make sure that we study well and grow even stronger."
"What if there’s conflict?"
Sui Wenyan’s lips pursed. "As long as you don’t kill someone inside the academy, you’re free to do anything."
There was chills on their back. It meant that if someone wanted to fight against people from other sects inside the academy, the teachers would willingly turn blind eye and even watched them from the sidelines. As long as they didn’t kill the other party, the academy basically didn’t care.
"Inside the academy?" Lin Xiao asked in low tone.
"There are missions and when you take missions, there are dangers involved. Who can say for sure that you won’t return back as corpse?" Sui Wenyan explained. She didn’t know the details, but she had heard enough from her seniors who used to be the disciple in Sun Dragon Academy.
"Is there possibility of dropping out or getting kicked out?"
"Yes. If you failed the test that they designed, there’s possibility that you will be kicked. However, we need to wait for the time when we’re in the academy if you want to know since I’m not totally sure."
"How many people will be accepted?" Lin Xiao asked. Just from a glance to this place, he had realized that there were thousands of people here. It was not known how many people of who would pass the test later on, but he knew that many of them would surely pass because they were all very powerful.
"Each year, Sun Dragon Academy will only accept between 100 to 500 disciples. The number can vary depending on how many talented people existed in that batch," Sui Wenyan replied.
Lin Xiao nodded. It meant that there was no fixed quota but there would be at least 100 of them who would be accepted. That number could be considered very little since from the people who were inside this large area, Lin Xiao knew that more than half would be eliminated.
No, not just half, if there were 1000 of people here, 90 percent would be eliminated.
’Well, it wouldn’t be easy.’
Closing his eyes, Lin Xiao chose to sleep. It would be better for him to conserve his strength until it was the time for them to do the test. Lin Yun instinctively stood guard and stayed still. It was something that the two of them did when they were only the two of them.
One rest and the other rest.
Then they switched.
"You can rest first, Lin Yun. I’ll guard first," Sui Wenyan said in low tone.
Lin Yun turned his head around then nodded. The test might be done alone, but when they were staying here, they could stay in the group. There were no rules that said they have to stay in this place alone.
The night passed quietly.
More and more people came and the atmosphere grew tenser. It was clear that those who had come here were feeling displeased. The more people who come into this area, the more competition they would have. At that point, it would become uncertain who would pass the examination.
Lin Xiao originally wanted to stay quiet.
Unfortunately...
"OH! You also pass here, Xiao! And here I thought that I’m the only person who can pass the test. Damn it, there are so many people here. Tsk, tsk, tsk, the test is very difficult and yet there are so many people who had passed. Hey, don’t you think the competition later will be very interesting?
If everyone here tries to fight against each other head on, it’ll be total chaos. Don’t you want to try looking at that kind of view when it happens? Hey Xiao, are you listening to me?"
"Uh huh."
"Then, what’s your opinion? Do you think we’re in the middle of test again at this time? The two guards are very powerful too, so it looks like we’re going to be able to pass the test swiftly with them standing guard in front of us. Don’t you think that we’re going to pass the exam?
What kind of exam do you think it’ll be...."
"It’s the exam of who can stay quiet more."
"What? That kind of exams existed? Damn! I’ll never be able to pass. I can’t stay quiet when there’s something so interesting..."
Lin Xiao: "..." shut up!
