Rise of the Crusader

Chapter 104

Chapter 104

104 Death of Luther Fernandez

Meanwhile, in one of the most prestigious cities in the world, Taurus city, and often regarded as the home of holy savior academy.

A man drenched in sweat ran into the academy. He ran with all the strength he could muster taking all the short routes that he was aware of, and within a few minutes, he arrived in front of a house.

And without any delay whatsoever, he rushed into the house quickly.

While they were two guards at the front of the house, both of them didn’t have any problem with letting the man in the house as they knew who he was.

The man was none other than Luther Fernandez aka metal man.

Even though they were words that metal man and the rest of his teams had suffered tragically in the hands of the Miller family, there was no proof of his demise. Whereas, the bodies of his crew were found.

So, holy savior academy still stuck with the hope that Luther was still alive. After all, he is an s-rank metahuman and a very powerful one at that.

When Luther entered the duplex, he rushed to the staircase immediately. He soon made his way to the second unit of the house, and as he saw the room at the left corner of the house, his eyes lit up.

Bang!

.....

Luther slammed the door open and barged into the room. He glanced at the room and when his eyes came in contact with the person at the desk, he hurried toward the man.

“There’s something I need to discuss with you, sir,” Luther said in a trembling tone.

The person seating in front of Luther was a man who appeared to be in his early forties. He had pale skin, brown spiky hairs, light blue eyes, and a powerful build.

The man’s most distinctive feature wasn’t his looks or body, but instead, it was the aura that he was excluding from his body.

He excluded an air of supremacy around him and gave the impression that all other existence was beneath him. And while he hadn’t lifted a finger since Luther barged into the room, Luther’s body shivered in fear from this man.

“S-Sir?” Luther mumbled.

Luther was about to speak when he received a deathly glare from the man which caused him to stagger a few steps backward. He gulped and quickly lowered his head.

If the world were to know that a metahuman of Luther’s prestige was rendered in this sort of shape because of the man in front of him, then they would have been blown away. But once they realize who it was that he was in front, the shock would vanish as it was expected of him.

They were millions of metahumans in the world, but despite the striking numbers that existed, the man in front of Luther was the fourth most strongest metahuman among them all.

“What is it?!” A cold voice that seemed to come from the depth of purgatory rang out.

After all the words and investigation that took place regarding the incident that occurred in the port sea, most people would have been surprised when they saw Luther.

It was after all speculated that he was dead, and his body must have been swept away in the sea, which was why they couldn’t find him. So, seeing Luther would have brought a bit of reaction from them, but that wasn’t the case for this man.

Instead of being delighted that one of their own wasn’t dead, he seemed to be frustrated by Luther’s presence in the room.

“While we were scouring the sea from the information received, we encountered VA,” Luther said.

This time around, there was a change in the man’s expression when Luther spoke. Luther sensed the change, he took a deep breath and began to narrate the whole event that happened in the sea.

Luther didn’t beat around the bush, and he went straight to the point as he spoke. He also didn’t leave any details out of it, except for the part where he jumped off the ship and allowed his colleague to face those people.

“Their numbers surpassed us, I was only able to escape out of luck,” Luther said.

The man across the desk listened attentively to Luther. He folded his hands across his chest and his eyes were glued to Luther.

After a few minutes, Luther paused, “There’s also one more thing I should let you know.”

“The kid who was on your recommendation list, Raphael Queen.” Luther said, “I think he has joined them.”

“I’m not quite sure of the exact details, but I saw him with them. He was wearing a strange outfit, and the VA logo was on his arm.” Luther wiped the sweats across his forehead.

If this wasn’t a story that Luther felt the man should know about, then he would have told him. But, because of the relationship that existed between the both of them, Luther felt the man deserved to know.

After all, the kid that he was referring to was the man’s nephew.

“Is he perhaps some spy or what is going on,” Luther blurted.

“We can’t let them keep getting away with all this. We have to take them down before it’s too late.” After giving his reports, Luther gave a slight bow and turned around.

He was already heading to the door when he heard the man’s voice.

“Wait.” William stood from his seat and walk toward Luther.

“Have you told anyone about this?” He asked.

Luther shook his head, “I haven’t told...” Before Luther could complete his words, a hand drove through his left chest.

With blood oozing out of his mouth, Luther stared at the man in front of him with shock evident in his eyes. He then lowered his head to his chest, and as he felt a light squeeze of his heart, his mouth opened wide.

“W-Why?”

Those were Luther’s final words as his heart was ripped out of his body.

He stumbled to the ground, and as William stared at Luther’s body, a sadistic smile appeared on his face.

William then brought a handkerchief from his left pocket and cleaned the blood that was on his right hand. He walked back to his seat and folded his hands across his chest.

“What are you up to this time around, Yvonne,” William mumbled.
