Rise of the Crusader

Chapter 102

Chapter 102

102 Team Six

While vertigo was considered a deadly narcotic drug, the effect was, however, based on the intake.

When consumed in a low quantity, the drug causes a high sensation and makes the person feel floaty. But when taken in high quantity, and the vertigo gets into the bloodstream, the condition might become disastrous.

As vertigo affects the thalamus where all the information from the pain receptors is collected. It would then cause the victim to believe that they are in excruciating pain, whereas most of the time it is simply a hallucination.

The effect of the drug could last for days, and only until the hearts give out and stop beating, would the pain no longer be felt.

After the change of car and the boxes were gone, the teams didn’t encounter any problems along the way, and within a few minutes, they were out of the town. They headed straight to the transportation device and appeared at the academy immediately.

And while team seven of the elite division worked with team five of the bandit’s division, another mission was occurring on the middle east side.

“I will get the girl, you get the hard drive,” Aiden said as he walked out of the elevator.

Aiden wasn’t the only one in the hallway, and beside him were two other figures. One was Elisa and the other person was Martha. Team six of the division were the ones assigned the mission on the middle east side.

When Elisa heard Aiden, she nodded her head, and as Aiden created a portal and walked into it, she shifted her gaze to the woman beside her.

.....

“Martha, I’m going to need you to stay here. It will be dangerous in there.” Elisa said.

“Today isn’t the day I’m going to perish, so I’m not worried.” It wasn’t even up to a second after Elisa spoke, and Martha responded.

Elisa stared at Martha for a few seconds before nodding her head and moving toward the room that was a few meters away from her.

She pushed the door open with both hands, and as she stared into the room, a sneer appeared on her face.

The room which had just been open was filled with oversized servers, computers, monitors, and other equipment. And apart from the equipment that was in the room, there were also several people in the room.

Their eyes were glued to the system in front of them and their attention was placed on it solely. Even when Elisa opened the room, they didn’t react, and it was only after one of them yelled that the others turned their attention to the person at the door.

“Please leave... You’re in the wrong room.” The male guard immediately appeared in front of Elisa.

The building they were in was a massive twelve-story building. It was a reputable law firm, and the room they were currently in was the firm control’s room.

A room where all crucial information was kept in their database.

“You shouldn’t even be on this floor. Please leave, or else I will be forced to take you out of here.” The guard exclaimed.

Even though Elisa’s presence on the eleventh floor was quite suspicious, the guards chose not to think too much about it, as people were always moving all about the building. And mistakes often led to some of them coming to the other floors.

Elisa, however, didn’t respond nor move from where she was standing. She stared at the people in the room and after figuring out their numbers and the numbers of the cameras in the room, she turned toward the guard.

The male guard was staring at Martha when he received a full-force knee strike to the abdomen. “Argh!” His eyes twitched, and his mouth opened slightly.

After the attack in the abdomen, his body bent in an arc manner, and before he could respond, he was sent flying by an uppercut from Elisa.

The guard landed on the floor with his jaw seemingly dislocated. Not only was the man’s head bent slightly, but he also didn’t seem to be able to move a muscle around his body.

As the others in the room stared at their colleague who was on the ground, their eyes twitched and a couple of their eyebrows furrowed. They glanced at Elisa and without any second thought, they rushed toward her.

Elisa was, of course, prepared for the six of them, and with her hands clenched into tight fists, she rushed towards them.

Without a doubt, there was no way that the people running the law firm would leave a room like this without offering the best of protection around them. However, before Elisa, the protection they set in place for any crisis was completely useless.

“What the hell... My powers.”

One of the guards that were coming toward Elisa stammered as she wanted to use her powers on her, only to realize that she wasn’t able to. The guard could still sense the presence of the powers, but regardless of how hard she tried, she wasn’t able to utilize it.

It wasn’t just the female guard that was in this perplexed state, but the others as well. They were deeply astounded by the fact that they weren’t able to use their powers.

Seeing the expression on their faces, a bone-chilling smile appeared on Elisa’s face. She moved to the two guards who were close to her, punching both of them simultaneously at full force.

BANG!

Elisa wasn’t referred to as the unarmed combatant queen for nuts and when it came to hand-to-hand combat, she was exceptionally skillful.

Both guards staggered several steps backward from the blow that had just struck their left. They spat out blood and a few seconds after, their heads clashed against one another.

The sound of bones cracking rang out as Elisa had slammed their heads together at full force. And even after the first clash, Elisa hit their heads against one another and this time with even more force applied.

Blood was already oozing profusely from both men’s heads, they soon began to stagger, and as Elisa let go of the both of them, they stumbled to the ground instantly.

“Y-You...”

Followed by those words was a tornado kick that caused blood to spurt in an arc manner, and as the fourth guard was taken care of, Elisa shifted her gaze to the remaining three.

The three of them gulped when they saw Elisa looking at them. And even though they had requested for backup already, the three of them still pressed the emergency button on their shirts.

A second after their movement, Elisa appeared in front of them. With a speed that defied, considering that she wasn’t a speedster, the three guards were left shaken by her sudden movement.

And perhaps because of the shock of not being able to utilize their powers, the three guards were incapable of making a move. The three of them stood still, trembling violently while their body was soaked in sweat.

It seemed to be as though Elisa was going to make a move of them, but after seizing the three of them for a brief moment, she shook her head and then grabbed the hard drive that was close to them.

Wee-Woo! Wee-Woo! Wee-Woo!

Once the hard drive was taken from the stand, the alarm immediately set off. The three guards had been expecting Elisa to perhaps be worried by the alarm, but instead, they were brought even more shock when they saw that she appeared to be even more relaxed.

Suddenly, Elisa turned towards Martha and as she did, Martha threw her what seemed to be a torch.

When Elisa caught the tool, she pointed it at the camera that was in front of her, and a red light appeared from the torch a second after. After a short while, Elisa pointed the tool to the other cameras in the room, and after about twenty seconds she lowered the torch.

As the cameras were taken care of, Elisa shifted her target to the systems in the room. She pointed the torch at them one after the other, and when the red light in the torch went dim, she lowered it.

“Have a wonderful day,” Elisa said as she appeared beside Martha.

Followed by those words was a cylindrical device thrown into the room. And as Elisa and Martha close the doors, the room was enveloped in purple smoke.

The people who were in the room screamed loudly when the smoke appeared, and after a few seconds they soon began to feel dizzy, and one after the other they fell unconscious.

After Elisa pointed the tool at the cameras in the hallway, she and Martha began walking toward the elevator door.

The both of them had only just taken a few steps to the door when a dark, spiraling portal emerged in front of them. A head soon popped out of the portal.

“I have the girl, what about you, do you have the hard drive?” It was Aiden that appeared from the portal and when he did, he quickly asked Elisa and Martha about the drive.

Elisa nodded her head and showed Aiden the hard drive.

“Good, let’s go... I’m quite hungry as it is.” With that said, and Aiden disappeared. Elisa and Martha also walked into the portal afterward.

And a few seconds after the dark portal disappeared from the hallway, the elevator door opened, and twelve figures stepped out the door.

“Hurry, there’s an emergency call from the storage room.”
