Chapter 90: Chapter 90 - Unused Cards (prt1)
"But what if, in anger, Lady Drishti, upon seeing her subject beaten, tried to kill me?" Ryuk spoke, noticing the gaze he had felt since the beginning was weakening over time.
'Now, should we secure some chess pieces?' Ryuk's gaze turned cold as he looked towards those individuals.
Slowly, the surrounding mana became completely serene, not moving at all.
"Lady Drishti is not someone who breaks her promise," a cloaked figure approached the young man without blinking, understanding the caution needed to settle the injury this man had caused to their master.
'His presence is becoming more thin.' Another reason for him not to blink was the sensation he got from the young man, which was natural; it felt as if his body was part of the surrounding mana, with no reaction or absorption of it, making his presence dissolve into it.
WHOOSH
"You both seem loyal to her," Ryuk spoke, his face now devoid of any expression as he looked toward both men, calculating the way to deal with them, his body shrouded in mixed amber and amethyst aura.
This was not easy, unlike last night, where all his opponents were at Imperfect Energy Ones, even with their Legendary Rank, but right now, he was against two real powerhouses.
Of course, after meeting with Drishti, he was not sure if these people really deserved that title but in the end, he needed their help.
'Overdrive' Not wanting to take any risk, even after knowing how faster his mana reserves of Conduit get depleted while using Overdrive at his present level, he still activated it.
SWOOOSH
'!?'
Both of men's eyes widened before turning completely cold with killing intent filling them, seeing the young man's energy reaching Early Zenith Level.
'Is he Perfect too', There was a chance of him being Perfect Earlier Zenith Rank, due to their inability to sense his level, they were not sure.
And, this was what Ryuk really wanted in this situation, there was only one method to defeat someone far stronger than you in 1v2 battles.
Don't let them know about your true limit until the end.
It may seem that by acting weak like a tiger in pig skin one could devour their target but in reality, true veterans never underestimated their enemies, instead always kept the image of them one level higher.
That's why, Ryuk let out his Zenith Aura burst out, to make these veterans think about him possessing the strength of this level too.
The end result, they will go all out to kill him? No.
Unlike inexperienced individuals, who will try to gang up and bombard with all their might when faced with strong opponents, real veterans keep calm and take each step calmly to somehow stay alive while also killing their target.
A perspective which depends on the individual to individual, after all, not everyone keeps a rational mind against someone much stronger than them.
And the reason for him being sure about these people's mentality on the calmer side was due to the first time he intentionally attacked them with the sword.
Yes, at that moment, even in the face of death, there was no movement in their expression, making him reach the conclusion that these individuals were true veterans.
Improving his approach to deal with them accordingly.
SWISH
"Shall we Begin?" Without any delay, he once again closed the distance between him and them but with much faster speed, even to the point that made him invisible for that moment.
His claws pointed towards one of the man's head, while noticing the other's reaction, with his hand devoid of any weapon, directly playing with their fighter senses.
Everything was instant, making them swiftly try to dodge the attack by leaning aside, while not knowing how they were just playing into the young man's hands.
Even while having a sword, instead of it, Ryuk used his bare hands, making their speculation of him having the strength of Zenith level more solid, not knowing that they were just falling deeper into this trap.
BAM!
In the middle of the air, while his hands passed beside one of the men, while forming an arc with his amethyst Aura shrouded leg, he directly gave a heavy kick to the man who swiftly brought his hand to block it.
BOOOOM!
Not able to withstand the force which they would have easily blocked if it wasn't for their mindset believing the young man's rank being Perfect Zenith, the man's body was shot directly out of the balcony, thrown freely until colliding with a huge building a mile away from it.
Even with physical strength greater than Ryuk's, their mindset believed that defeating him in strength was not possible, causing their focus to settle on enforcing their aura instead of their physical bodies.
The end result was their posture being weak enough to not withstand the force of an Early Legendary Rank.
After all, Ryuk was just an Imperfect Legendary Rank with far denser energy called Ether, making him stronger than individuals of his level.
His physical strength was still at the peak of Epic, which was also enhanced by the Amethyst Aura made of Ether, directly compensating him to reach strength stats of Early Legendary.
Added with Overdrive, he was currently an Imperfect Early Zenith with the strength of Early Legendary, and at that, the strength was reaching the middle due to the extra energy his body was getting due to Overdrive.
A complex mechanism yet very simple, he would do everything to win this battle.
Thud
Landing on the floor which instantly broke due to him intentionally ejecting Ether into it, in accordance to prepare for the upcoming punch on his face, he swiftly blocked with crossed hands.
BAAAM!
A colossal punch collided with his crossed arm, Peak Legendary strength behind it would have instantly shot his body freely through the miles, but already anticipating it, his feet was digged into the ether-infused floor making it strong enough to stop from breaking and stop his projectile.
Scrreeeeechh
But the force still sent him ten steps away while breaking the tiles which could have withstood a million tons of weight in the present condition, yet the force pushing the young man's body was that strong.
'Just a minute more,' Ryuk's body could feel the punch's aftereffect causing a surge inside his body, the sheer shockwave had vibrated all his skin as the wave traveled before transferring to the floor beneath him.
SWISH
Not caring about his now trembling arm which withstood such a colossal punch, Ryuk's figure once again blurred, while the man also understood that they were being played by this young man, causing his aura to burst.
SWOOOSH!
"This should be your end!" Losing his temper due to humiliating all this felt, being fooled by someone like this young man who had not even seen the outside world, the man swiftly leaned to shoot towards the young man— falling in a perfect trap.
SCHLKT!
"Kughh—?!" Suddenly feeling a sharp force piercing his back, the man's eyes instantly turned red due to pain before his eyes slowly turned towards the assailant whose sword had pierced his heart.
"Y-you!" The man's eyes widened seeing Ryuk present there instead of in front of him, it seemed confusing for him to understand exactly what happened here.
"It seems, Lady Drishti still has not seen all my cards."
