Chapter 276: Chapter 276- Interest (2)
"Follow me, Demon." With those words, Drishti snapped, causing Belial's body to slowly start levitating in the air as she turned towards Iliantara and Lucas.
"Where are you taking him, Lady Drishti?" Iliantara inquired as she looked towards Belial levitating in the air while Drishti was prepared to leave, evident from the resonance of mana nearby. This made her feel confused since the only reason Drishti could take someone was if she found them interesting enough.
"I am not taking him; he is following me on his own." Drishti gestured with her hand, causing Belial to land on the ground, which was completely broken due to the aftermath of the collision between Lucas and the ancestor of the Jun family.
"What following, you stupid huban! You tried to take be!" Belial retaliated, finally getting his mind in a single place after she had just lifted him into the air without even asking for his consent. He glared at the woman while growling with his teeth, channeling his demonic energy.
Looking towards Belial's small body, which appeared childlike, Drishti raised an eyebrow as her lips slowly curved into a smile. In a soft yet soothing tone, she uttered, "Follow me and only nod."
"Bnph?!" It was as if some hidden force had just taken over his body, causing Belial's mouth to tighten shut as it disappeared, without any control. He nodded, giving affirmation to Drishti's words as he followed her and stood beside her.
"Wait, Lady—" Iliantara was about to ask Drishti why she was taking Belial away by force but was interrupted by Lucas.
"Lady Drishti, what is the status of Ardoros, and do you know anything about Bro—Ryuk Devereaux?" Lucas, placing his hand on the rock, flipped and landed on the ground with both hands resting in his pockets as he approached Drishti while glancing at Iliantara, who understood his silent signal, considering that it wouldn't have been possible for Drishti, known for her habit of always staying inside Ardoros, to leave the continent and arrive this far away without any reason.
Though both of them weren't aware of the situation in Ardoros, it was clear that if Drishti was here, then either she had decided to support a flag bearer, which was impossible, or secondly, that the demon accompanying them was very valuable and piqued her interest.
"Oh? Are you both planning to attack me?" Unlike their expectations, understanding their secret conversation wasn't hard for Drishti. Looking at their gestures, she felt amused that both of them had already decided to attack her.
"As expected of you, Lady Drishti, but instead of fighting you, we would appreciate it more if you understood that this demon is our friend," Iliantara said while holding her sword, not wanting to let her guard down in front of this woman. She pointed towards Belial, who stood glaring at her without being able to move his head.
'Friend? Have these naive fools fallen for by act?' Belial inwardly thought as he heard Iliantara's words referring to him as a friend. He felt somewhat amused, seeing how easy it was to fool humans who believed in anyone based on their emotions.
"How much?" Drishti, tilting her head and seeing through both of these flag bearers' intentions, realized that the reason they were claiming this demon as their friend was to extort money from her.
"1 million gold—" Iliantara lifted her hand to place a demand, but once again was interrupted by Lucas.
"10 million gold coins." Lucas, with his hand resting in his pocket, looked towards Drishti with a grin, clearly not showing any shame as he needed that much money.
Of course, both Iliantara and Lucas were flag bearers but were without any support from their families. No one was there to save them if something happened one day. Though they were strong, it all came down to the fact that they were poor right now.
"Eh? So, killing you both will save me 10 million coins?" Suddenly, with a more devilish look, Drishti's hand slid towards her lips as tilting her head on other side gave a cold look filled with killing intent towards Lucas.
"I was joking." Lucas lifted one hand while showing a blank face.
"Me too," Iliantara also following in the footsteps of Lucas lifted her hand.
"....do you want to earn money?" Drishti, looking towards both of them, felt that it would indeed be a loss if she didn't use both of them to make things more entertaining for her.
"Yes." Both of them nodded, having the same thoughts and perspective for this present situation.
They were both trying to avoid a clash with Drishti, aware that her might may not permit her to kill them due to their distinctive technique. Yet, her immense power could potentially weaken them, making them susceptible if one chose to turn against the other or if another flag bearer arrived.
"Let me suppress those flag bearer insignias," Drishti glanced towards their palms, gesturing for them to turn off the insignia which was provided to flag bearers in case to detect other flag bearers.
Her intention was simply to make them go against Ryuk.
But considering that Lucas had a favorable opinion of him due to some reason, while Iliantara was also provided a message by her grandfather, they would not be able to go all out with Ryuk. Drishti decided to make them turn off those indicators.
"What? But Lady Drishti, what if a flag bearer arrives here?" the distance at which the insignia could detect another flag bearer was a hundred miles radius, making Iliantara voice out her thought knowing that it could be a problem if another flag bearer arrived and sneaked attack on them.
"Leave it to me, no one will be able to enter Jade Dominion from outside, I promise," Drishti smiled as with closed eyes she gave a soft nod to both of them. They looked towards each other before believing in her words, and then nodded before stretching their hands towards her as a small mark of seed was visible on their hands, appearing to be filled with mana.
"Suppress." Again, Drishti's lips parted as though sending forth a faint, imperceptible signal. Immediately, it quelled the insignia, causing it to fall silent in the presence of her power.
Of course, a flag bearer cannot deactivate their insignia independently, as it is etched into their skin and draws mana from their body to remain active. Thus, no flag bearer or person can control the flow of their body's mana to their hand, except for individuals who possess the power to nullify (Ryuk) or suppress that mana (Drishti).
'So, this is Authority,' Iliantara looked at her hands, realizing that no matter how hard she attempted to channel her mana into the insignia, it remained inert, as if it were rejecting her energy.
"Here, both contain 10 million," Drishti threw two dimensional storage rings towards both of them, which they caught while looking towards her with a blank expression.
'Huh? We were hoping for 10 million for the two of us combined, though.' Both Lucas and Iliantara, seeing how they had both received this much amount of gold coins, decided to remain silent as Iliantara tried to say, "Thank you—"
But before she could complete her words, Drishti's body instantly disappeared as her senses instantly rang, triggering her bloodline as she felt that a new unidentified Devereaux bloodline had just reacted with hers.
Drishti, possessing the most pure Devereaux bloodline, whenever a Devereaux bloodline formed, she was able to sense them. Considering her eyes were all over the Jade Dominion, she knew there was no one except Lucas or Iliantara here, causing her to vanish along with Belial as she shot in that direction.
