Chapter 956: Remodeling An Empire Part 3
In the next few days, Kana settled things and gave approval to all her projects. There were a lot of spirit stones in the palace treasury, so she was using that to fund everything. She saw no need to keep such things since it would not help anything sitting in the treasury.
Plus, she figured she could get more as soon as another kingdom tried to invade. And she knew that this would definitely be the case, which was why she was willing to deal with things in such a way. With the current setup and her daughters taking up key roles in the government to make sure things stay in the green for the empire, Kana felt reassured.
But because she was now settling down, she had set up a lab for herself within the palace. With her memories, she had many ideas she would like to try out using spiritual qi. "Eie, what do you think?"
Kana asked as she looked at the read out she got from the newly built spiritual qi powered computer. It used a line of miniature arrays to compute the processing power in which Kana and Eie built a standard operating system called Bimbos. With this and Q Chips which acted as a storage device, they made a proper computer to work with spiritual qi.
"Hmmm…. The output might be slightly off. If we can charge it more and store it in a compressed state, we might be able to turn it into a spiritual qi beam weapon. But I am not sure how much damage it will do." Eie replied.
"I guess we can only try. But let's leave it for tomorrow. How are things on the ship?" Kana asked as she sat down in her chair.
"Bell is going nuts because Misaki keeps trying to watch her and Ganjo at night. But Kana, is it true that you told Misaki to wear her underwear on her head?" Eie was very confused about why Misaki wore her underwear on her head.
"That stupid robot…. Eie, when you go back to the ship later, tell that bucket of bolts that she better wear her underwear properly and leave Bell alone, or I will dismantle all her husbands. And make her watch movies about fish for the rest of her life." Kana really wondered what went on in Misaki's brain!
"I will gladly do so. She only listens to you, so this will be good." Eie replied.
"Mmm…. I will be heading out. I need to do a quick inspection of the borders and see the progress of everything myself." Kana said as she stood up and stretched.
"Alright, I will sit here and tinker with this more. If we can make it work, it will be a powerful weapon if we can scale up." Eie had become totally engrossed in this new kind of power, so she wanted to see what she could make with it.
"Alright, do what you want." Kana smiled and disappeared.
When she reappeared, she was above the capital city, which now had many tall buildings in the world. Thanks to the strength of the people here, there was not much need for industrial equipment. So just a few people could fly over the modular pieces when they were ready and slot them in.
Once the buildings were done, it would then be her turn to create the small mystic realms for people to live in. Then she could start buying up land from the residents and give them their own mystic realms to live in, which would come with an estate that would fit their needs and that they could still expand on later on.
She also looked out over the new roads that were being contracted at a rapid pace. With these new roads, overland travel would be much easier and safer for people. Not everyone could fly in the ascended realm. This was because couples would have babies, and those kids would grow up starting from scratch, which meant they would need to be able to travel through the lands if they were trying to go to a sect or to one of the cities.
As she flew over her new empire, Kana saw many places that needed development and assistance. She flew down and stopped off at a small village that looked very dilapidated. As she walked through the streets, she noticed that the people here were all lowering their heads, not daring to look at her. But this did not stop her from asking: "Who is in charge here?"
"Your Highness, That would be me….." An old man with a wooden cane did his best to hurry along. But Kana quickly ran over to support him since he looked like he was about to fall over.
"No need to come to me. I was just wondering who was in charge. Let's find a place to sit. I want to ask you what you need in this village in order to promote a better way of life here." Kana held the old man to a wooden box to sit down before sitting on the ground in front of him. Her action baffled everyone there. They did not understand why the empress of their empire was willing to sit below their village chief. But this one simple action also showed just how kind she was as well.
"Your Highness, I should switch…." The old man felt uncomfortable since the Empress, the ruler of their empire, was looking up at him while he looked down at her.
"It's fine! You are my elder, and I am here to learn from you, so this is proper seating. I want to know what you need. What do you and your people here in this village need to have a better life." Kana replied.
The old man sighed as he said: "We would need a lot. This village is made up of us poor folks. We are just trying to survive each day. We make stone tools and till the land and try to live off the crops we harvest, but some years, people will die from hunger."
