Chapter 1100 Sidestory: What If-Mei Ling Part 1
—AN) Sorry all, I am having major writer's block for this novel. So instead of not writing chapters, I decided to give you all some side stories.—
The sky was blue as usual. Fluffy white clouds could be seen dotted here and there. It was just a normal day like any other. As it was summer, many kids were out and about spending time outside doing the things that kids do.
"Almost there…. Almost…."
They would be out riding their bikes, playing in the park, or, if they were older, hanging out with their friends at some mall.
"Just die already!"
Summertime was the time to escape from the house and from under your parents' watchful eyes. To be free from all the responsibilities that came with growing up.
"Damn it! I died again! I was so close! Why is this boss so hard!?"
Of course, there were some kids who preferred to close themselves off from the world and stay in order, sitting in front of a computer screen playing games like this young girl who was around twelve years of age, currently fuming at the computer screen after dying to the same boss for the tenth time. "This game sucks. How are you even supposed to beat this boss if all it does is spam raid wipe skills!? I spent all my allowance on this too!"
"Mei Ling!" A voice came from the side, causing Mei Ling, the young girl with long black hair and big round eyes, to turn and look at the figure standing there with their hands on their hips.
"Mama! I-I…." Mei Ling wanted to come up with an excuse as to why she was sitting here playing games, but nothing was coming to mind.
"I thought you said you made friends this year…" The one called Mama was named Kana. She had white hair and red eyes and was someone Mei Ling looked up to and loved but also feared more than anyone else in the world.
"I tried! I…. I thought I made a friend, but they ended up just saying that to play pranks on me…." Mei Ling lowered her head. A girl at school name Sally was very kind to her the first few months of the school year but towards the end, she ended up getting bullied by this same girl. She did not want to worry her Mama, so Mei Ling did not say anything and said she had a friend. But now…. She could no longer hide anything.
"What!?" Kana's eyes began to grow red with anger. She was someone who would never allow her daughter to be bullied! "What is the name of this so called friend!?"
"Mama, don't. It will only get worse next year if you…." Mei Ling knew her Mama was about to blow her top, so Mei Ling wanted to try to stop her, but it was already too late. Her Mama took one step into the room with those eyes that said tell me, or I will make you tell me. They were scary eyes!
In the end, Mei Ling could only spill the beans. She told her Mama everything that had happened and not even two seconds after she finished explaining her Mama ran out the door….
The bullying started off innocent enough, but gradually, they started doing things like ruining her desk and tearing up her books. Some even left notes in her locker saying they were going to beat her up after school. She tried to tell the teacher, but the teacher did nothing. And since she did not wish to worry her mother, she did not say anything to her.
At a certain middle school….
"Okay, we are all agreed on next semester's schedule, right?" A balding man with a large stomach asked as he looked at the young and old teachers in front of him.
"Principle, can we have the parent teacher conferences on the same day?" One teacher asked.
The balding man with the large stomach was the principal of this middle school. And to this teacher's question, he smiled and shook his head. "It would not be good to have them all on the same day. We need to kee…."
*Bang!*
"Who the hell is Miss Stevens!?" A young woman walked in with veins popping out of her forehead. She looked at everyone in the room and spotted the female teachers, and eyed each one of them. "Which one of you is Miss Stevens, who is in class six?"
"I am. May I ask if there is a problem?" A twenty something woman with short brown hair stood up and asked. She was holding a binder in her hand and seemed to be slightly afraid but still put on a strong front since she was in the office. She did not think this woman who had just barged in would do anything crazy.
"Yes, a big one!" The young woman snorted. "My name is Kana, mother of Mei Ling, I heard you allowed your students to bully my daughter all semester. You know, if I did not wring it out of her to find out what was going on, I would not have known a teacher was allowing her students to bully another. Don't worry, as soon as I am done with you, I will be going to visit this girl Sally's mother as well and show her what it means to be bullied."
"Miss, you need to leave." The principal shouted.
"Leave? Baldy, I think you need to shut your mouth and sit down before I put my foot in a spot that will leave you crying for the rest of your life. I have no issues with anyone but this woman here. Miss Stevens as a teacher, are you not supposed to stop kids from bullying another? Are you unable to discipline the children under your care? If I am not wrong, you do a deal with the kids who are doing the bullying by suspending them indefinitely. Why is it my daughter who has to suffer while these kids are doing nothing but bad things and being taught it was fine?"
