Chapter 1381 Progress
Liam spent the next few hours hunting more Morula Panthers, though he did not come across another beast king—which made sense. Typically, a territory only hosted one beast king at a time to maintain the balance of its ecosystem. These apex predators dominated their domains, ensuring no competition within their own ranks.
The good news, however, was that this world was teeming with beast territories, each thriving with unique and powerful creatures. This realm was designed to cultivate strong beasts as if nature itself had been tailored for growth, evolution, and constant conflict. Strong beasts that he needed for his army.
At the end of the day, he managed to capture fifty panthers and successfully forged all of their souls. Forging these souls was a lot tougher than simpler beast souls but he was getting better at it little by little.
There was even a small chance that if he trained himself repeatedly with these souls, he might be able to absorb more of the two transcendent souls in his possession.
However, that was a thought for later. Liam once again adjusted his condition and dashed forward. It was time for the next set of beasts.
Meanwhile, in other parts of this same world, a certain fox was running wild. Liam had finally let Luna out and the little fox was fighting it out to her heart's content.
She had been cooped up for far too long, and now her suppressed energy erupted in an exhilarating frenzy. Claws gleaming and eyes alight with mischief, she faced off against a pack of Steelclaw Wolves. They circled her cautiously, their metallic fur glinting as they snarled and unleashed a strong dao field which was intensified manifold thanks to their pack dynamics. But Luna wasn't one to be intimidated. With a burst of speed, she launched herself at the nearest wolf, her movements fluid and unpredictable. Her small frame belied her ferocity as she struck with precision, her attacks leaving trails of shimmering energy in the air. For Luna, this wasn't just a fight—it was pure, unbridled joy.
She only needed a few minutes to secure victory and she triumphantly sent a mental message to Liam. "Master, I found some interesting wolves. They can boost each other's dao fields."
"Interesting." Liam thanked her for the information and made a mental note to head to her location later. He was not particularly looking for any type of beasts, just filling his roster with strong near breakthrough beasts but these kinds with special attributes were always welcome.
Luna smacked her lips happily at her master's response, further emboldened by his approval. Satisfied with her work, she bounded away, her tail swishing in delight. The thrill of the hunt coursed through her veins as she searched for her next challenge. The world was vast, and Luna was determined to explore every corner of it, leaving her pawprints and a trail of mischief in her wake.
While Liam honed his skills in capturing and forging, Luna roamed the land as his eyes and ears, uncovering opportunities and testing the strength of their potential recruits. Together, they were a force to be reckoned with, a perfect blend of discipline and chaos, strategy and instinct.
The rest of the guild were still hanging around in the outskirts of the forest. Unlike Liam and Luna, their growth had stagnated but no one was discouraged because of it. Taking this opportunity as a god sent every single person was working themselves to the bone, sharpening their skills and preparing for the challenges that lay ahead. They understood that while Liam and Luna operated on a completely different level, their own efforts were no less important. Each guild member had a role to play, and even incremental growth could tip the scales in their favor when the time came.
The outskirts of the forest offered a more controlled environment for their training. Here, the beasts were less ferocious but still challenging enough to push the guild members out of their comfort zones. They practiced not only combat techniques but also teamwork, honing their coordination and synergy. The guild's strategists studied the behaviors of the local creatures, noting patterns and weaknesses, while the fighters tested their strength and endurance against wave after wave of adversaries. Every hunt, every clash, was a step forward, however small.
After the hunt, they split the beast's corpse equally among those who participated and sold the parts back at the stronghold to obtain updated items. With each upgraded item, the fights became easier and the guild groups were able to push their way into the forest more and more.
In this way, the ten days allocated for training passed by in the blink of an eye. On the last day, Liam had other plans for the guild group. He wanted to personally take them for a few team raid hunts so they would get the experience of fighting something many times powerful than them.
Sometimes when there is stagnation in the path this sort of battle can help people find their way forward. This was the last push he planned to give the guild group before the treasure hunt event.
Liam promptly arrived at the borders and it didn't take long to find the guild. Everyone had decent increments in their levels. Liam's gaze fell on Alex and Rey and he couldn't help but feel surprised for a moment.
Both of them had actually pushed themselves above and beyond and were now at level 800. Just a couple of breakthroughs away from stepping into the transcendent realm.
Madan, Lan Deming, Ning Xi, Lan Fen had also made notable progress. All of them were around level 700.
There was in fact another person who had also reached level 700. Shockingly, it was Lily. Derek's sister. Liam did not think she had much talent and was simply trying to keep herself busy but she proved him wrong.
Liam congratulated her and patted her. He could clearly see how much the woman had pushed herself to come to this level. He took out a top-grade healing elixir and handed it to her.
"Lily, about your brother" He started to fill in what he had learned so far when suddenly two auras blasted uncontrollably in the distance.
