Chapter 221 - Root Problem
Chapter 221 - Root Problem
Teren just watched Trisha cry like a child. If they pause for just a little moment, she would most likely faint from the dizziness. Besides the bed was the disgusting vomit that she released earlier. It seemed that she had been holding herself for some time already.
"I don't understand what you mean."
"No, you understand it, you understand it!"
Trisha uncomfortably moved around her bed while complaining.
"What do you want to know about anyway?"
Teren asked, seeking this chance to make her open up. It seemed that she's no longer in her right mind. She does not even bother to keep up her usual image as she acts like a spoiled child.
"It's so unfair... everyone had been taking care of me, releasing my burden... my family became successful from taking these Spirits away from me... because of me... because of me..."
Before she continue, she heavily breathed as she emit hot air around her. Teren then wiped her sweat away again. At this point, he had already changed her clothes, bedding, and wiped her whole body at this point. However, her condition was getting worse.
'Is the stimuli too sudden that her body is taking desperate actions?'
Teren thought that Trisha might be 'evolving' somehow. No matter how much stronger she gets, she still receives some form of trauma and her body recognized that. In other words, her 'leveling up' levels up and taking it up a notch.
Her situation is akin to a caterpillar going through a metamorphosis, Teren theorized.
"... because of me, my family's wealth was built on other people's suffering... while I, the source, kept getting treated like a darn baby...!"
Teren also found that similarity of her being attacked by the Spirits that she had already attracted. Just like how Nick finds his innermost root of his present self during the 'hunting', Trisha faces the root of hers too.
"It's so fucking heavy!"
She complained again as if she throwing a tantrum.
"So what do you want?"
Teren asked.
"I don't want anything. Stop giving me what I want! I get what I want, let me take responsibility!"
"Huh... why did you end up in that kind of school when you have money?"
He tried to probe further in which made Trisha ponder in her half-conscious self.
"... ahh... it's because they want to send me to a prestigious school... so I went to the trashiest..."
With that simple explanation, Teren was able to find out-
'So she's still just a child. She still hasn't figured it out and just follows her emotions as any rebellious teen would. I bet when she got into that so-called trashy school, she disliked it and tried to change it. Her spoiled nature was still getting to her without her knowing. She thinks that as long as she gets what she wants with her own power, she was taking responsibility... interesting.'
"So is being a boss made you happy?"
"... yeah..."
Trisha slightly nodded.
"But is that helping your true problem?"
"What... problem...?"
"... nothing."
Teren chose not to get into that part yet. If he was the one who showed her problem, she may treat it differently. He figures that she should be the one who realized it.
"Eh? What is it?"
But Trisha continued to ask.
"... hey... what is it?"
"... hey... Teren, what is... it?"
Teren stopped interacting with her and soon, her eyes finally closed. If she was just a normal girl, her current illness would've killed her countless times already. However, it was just able to make her faint after some time.
'Should I leave her?'
Teren have a plan after this but seeing Trisha's situation, it was hard to leave her alone. It's not always a hundred percent that she will overcome everything on her path. However, she was able to, then she would become the strongest in the world.
'This is not a coincidence, right?'
But then, he realized that he couldn't leave right now even if he wants to. His hand was tightly clutched by her when he was trying to heal her. It seemed that none of them noticed.
...
The evening was about to arrive when a luxurious car parked in front of Jomar's gate. Soon, the doorbell rang and Jomar showed up from within. He had already expected that there will be a guest because of the abnormal man that was staying in the basement right now.
'It took me some effort to get protection from a special agency in such a short time. If I didn't have any money, I wouldn't be able to do this.'
Jomar then glanced to the side as he knew there were special soldiers there ready to move out and protect him whenever necessary. After all, he can never be careful.
With his hands behind his back, he went to meet the visitor that Teren told him about.
The gate opened, letting the luxurious car enter by a newly hired guard. After the car parked inside the doors opened and came out some men with 'unprofessional' faces. With tattoos on their necks and scars on their faces, they seemed like the people you would see locked up in a prison.
Jomar sensed danger and readied his finger to give the signal to the hired specialists.
Soon though, a relatively handsome man that emits charisma walked out as the center of the thuggish men. He seemed to be the leader and-
'This guy... have I seen him before?'
Jomar observed the man as he walked up to him and gave him a card.
"Good evening, Sir Jomar, I'm the owner of the humble new Wolfang Corporation, Alph. I believe we have an appointment so I hope I'm not bothering."
"..."
Jomar took the card first and looked at it with his right hand while his left hand was still behind him.
'The seal... this is legitimate.'
Very few things have shaken a professional like him... and this is one of them.
Soon, he revealed a smile and offered a handshake after making a signal with his left hand. Seeing this, the specialists in bodyguarding in secret was put on standby.
'That psychopath just brought me my rival CEO, what the fuck?'
