Chapter 463-Summoning
Princess Hannah was one of the most talented prodigies in the Magic Academy. After they graduated, she ranked number 7 on the genius ranking list for those 20 years old and below.
She was regarded as the goddess of other students in the academy, excelling in hand-to-hand combat and swordsmanship.
Even Joaquin admitted that he was no match against his sister if she got serious, but she always showed a calm expression and was not cold like other nobles.
She was approachable, so many liked her, but she was constantly picked on by her brothers and sisters who disdained her for her mother's status, even though she had already passed away.
The Wizard King didn't even care about her, and she had never seen him in her entire life.
She wanted to prove that she was talented and wanted her father to acknowledge her as his daughter.
She clenched her fist as she stepped onto the summoning altar and looked at Dante, nodding at him.
Dante nodded in return and sent a short message.
"Good luck."
Dante's action stunned Hannah, but she just nodded and continued with the process.
Hannah followed the same process as others, letting her blood drop onto the magic circle.
"Oh, mighty spirits, I am a descendant of a Wizard King; I beg you to heed my call and appear before me."
She suddenly became nervous about failure, looking at the magic circle below her. Everyone was stunned because there was no reaction at all.
"Why? Is it not working? Don't tell me the magic circle is broken?"
"No, it's impossible. The Wizard King created it personally, so how could it be broken?"
Onlookers were talking, and the sudden change in events stunned them.
"Could it be that the princess is not talented enough to attract any spirits?"
Everyone murmured, and Princess Hannah felt despair. After 20 seconds, there were still no reactions.
"Could it be that she really has no talent at all? But how is that possible, given that she is the daughter of the two."
Dante murmured, feeling that something was wrong.
"Men, check the magic circle if it is working properly."
He commanded his people, and after a while, they reported that there was nothing wrong with it.
Dante couldn't help but look at Hannah with a sigh. He didn't expect that the princess would fail on her first try.
"Don't despair, princess; you can try again next year. Maybe it was not your time."
He consoled her, and he could see her face change. She suddenly felt like the world had collapsed, knowing that if she failed today, her fate might decline, and her status might be lowered.
After all, the strong and talented were respected, while the weak and useless were ignored.
"Haha, what a good sight. I knew it; the little bitch is trash, hahaha."
Suddenly, a tall, muscular man appeared in front of everyone, and behind him, a cold woman appeared as well.
They looked at Hannah with disdain and sneers. They were Prince Middleton, the 3rd prince, and a certified 5-tier wizard, already 100 years old with above-average but acceptable talent.
He had a silver-level familiar, a savage bear that amplified his strength and made his defense formidable.
The woman behind him was Princess Nina, only 20 years younger than Hannah, also a 5-tier wizard with a familiar, Dark Wolf, also silver tier.
Both of them came from the same mother, and the reason they hated Hannah was that their mother despised Hannah's mother.
"Haha, you dare to call yourself a genius, but not even a weak spirit wants to be your master."
"As expected of you, you came from a lowly bitch, so your talent is poor as well. You are wasting father's gift, and you should just be married to another clan as a gift."
Princess Nina sneered, hating Hannah to the bone because she envied her talent before.
Now that they learned that she could not even make a contract, they suddenly showed themselves to tease her.
"How dare you."
Prince Joaquin wanted to attack them as he couldn't stand seeing his sister being bullied again, especially in front of everyone.
As he was about to ask the Drake for help, he stopped summoning him because a terrifying aura appeared and easily suppressed Prince Middleton and Nina.
Everyone looked at Dante, who gazed at them with a plain face.
"What is the meaning of this, Uncle Dante?" Middleton said, angry and confused about why Dante seemed to be against them.
"Tsk, now I know why his majesty didn't accept the two of you. You both are arrogant, yet you haven't accomplished anything other than bullying the younger."
His words resonated with others, and everyone was astonished, not expecting the usually silent Dante to stand up for Hannah.
Princess Hannah, still feeling lost, was also stunned, looking at Dante with gratitude but unsure why he was helping her.
The two arrogant prince and princess were also shocked, realizing that Dante was deliberately helping her.
"Hmm, so what if he is helping you? You are still trash,"
Princess Nina sneered, deciding to leave the place as she had already accomplished her goal of shaming Hannah.
Middleton, on the other hand, looked at Hannah and then at Dante, saying, "Hmm, I will report you to my mother, and let's see if you can still be arrogant."
With that, he left as well, following his sister.
Dante looked at the two and sneered in his heart. After that, he turned to Hannah and said, "Don't worry, Princess. Maybe next time, it will be successful."
Princess Hannah clenched her teeth and asked again, "Can I try again?"
She was unreconciled and unwilling to accept the result.
She felt that she had not given her all, and perhaps something had gone wrong.
Dante saw her perseverance and decided to give her a last chance.
"Very well."
He wanted her to wake up and let this become her goal in the future—to work harder.
"Woah, what is happening? The princess is trying again."
Everyone was stunned, even Princess Nina and Prince Middleton, who were still at the event, looked at her again. Both were laughing and eager to see her fail once more.
