PATH OF THE STAR HUNTER

Chapter 83

Chapter 83

83 Chapter 83 Bored? It’s better than a video game.

?? Pooom! Bitch, that’s another headshot ladies and gentlemen, god I’m good at this; Who said this mission would be boring? It’s even better than that video game I played as a child, these idiots fly into pieces of beauty, plus they turn out to be exactly as slow as they are usually portrayed. . . if anything, isn’t this supposed to be a mining area full of metal monsters? I was hoping to fill my wallet with the materials that I would get from them, but instead, I have these stinky idiots. ??

It may seem that I was complaining about these unexpected inhabitants that I encountered in the mining area, but the reality is that a childish smile was still on my face as I continued to shoot arrows and watch my enemies explode bloodily.

Of course, someone might wonder, Desmond, what the hell are you doing, and why are you having so much fun doing it? And you could answer that with ease and simplicity. . . but where would the fun be in it. So you can expect a Flashback of my arrival in the world of Erack and the unforeseen events that I encountered there in 3.. .two . . .1 . . . zero. . . wait I think this thing broke down, I said zero. . . oh there it is.

(An hour before, third-person POV)

A luminous sphere full of runes and magical diagrams materialized in the middle of a small clearing, within a small forest, on the edge of a small mountainous region; within the sphere, the image of an adult person could be distinguished.

As the sphere vanished, it revealed Desmond, with his gentle fox-bow on his shoulder, his trusty twin dark poison daggers sheathed at the back of his hip, his blizzard wolf leather armor protecting his torso, and a pair quiver full of arrows; a large one tied to his back and a smaller one on his right leg.

The latter was a small addition Desmond had made after his battle defending the north wall, he realized that the number of arrows he could carry in a single quiver was far from sufficient in battles like that night and it also served in a way that Desmond could keep two different types of arrows.

Of course with Desmond’s recent credit shortage, he found himself in the dire situation where he only managed to fill the small quiver with special arrows like the ones he had used before, leaving the large quiver on his back full of standard hunting arrows, with a light but resistant carbon stem and for the arrowhead Desmond chose a fixed two-edged titanium tip; preferring the penetration ability of the arrow over the ability to cause bleeding wounds.

He also acquired special made-to-order leather gloves, which had stronger reinforcements in the areas most commonly worn by bow and arrows, as well as matching reinforced leather bracers.

.....

Probably remembering the numbers that appeared on the invoice he got from the hunting store, Desmond almost felt that he could hear the metaphorical cries from his bank account; But then he remembered that he had just stolen 100,000 untraceable credits from the military and a carefree smile returned to his face.

Quickly checking his equipment and that none of it was lost in the transportation, which still bothered him, Desmond proceeded to look around, he was in a small clearing, there was a soft layer of grass of some kind covering almost every inch of the ground. But the ground was of a strange color between blue and green, because of the trees around it seemed that it was autumn in the region since the leaves that could be observed in them were few and far away.

Behind him, Desmond could see the beginning and extension of a mountainous region where he supposed he should be able to find the materials he was looking for, in general, it seemed like a nice place to have a cabin in the woods or something like that; If there was a problem that had to be pointed out, it would be the immense silence in the place.

Desmond might be a fairly inexperienced hunter, but even someone like him knew that bad things happen when the forest goes silent, so taking his bow and putting one of his new hunting arrows into it, Desmond prepared to put bliss on it arrow to the head of the first lake cabin serial killer to cross his path.

By focusing his senses and using his newly improved sensitivity to mana, Desmond could tell that there was a strange sensation in the environment, he was able to sense various types of mana that were normal to find in a place like this, such as mana from the wind, wood, earth, and metal; but he also detected a strange presence that seemed to be mixed in with the other types of mana, almost. . . almost like an infectious or malevolent existence.

Whatever it was, it only served to increase Desmond’s level of alertness, the simple fact that he did not find any kind of living being besides the vegetation already disturbed him, so now he was even tightening the bowstring preparing to the possible combat.

But despite his preparation, born of a strange and very specific horror movie trauma, Desmond ended up meeting a creature that also seemed to have come out of a horror movie; Only this one, in particular, was one that Desmond had always wanted to put an arrow or ax to his head and that he was never afraid of given its not-so-threatening characteristics that were often exaggerated in the movies.

What comes out of the bushes to be found by a paranoidly prepared Desmond was. . .
