222 Chapter 221: The Hunt

Bam!

Damon landed at Blink’s location with a deadly pale face but he didn’t care. Blink just laid there with his eyes open, gazing towards the sky. He seems to be on the verge of death and unaware of Damon’s presence. Using his power to sustain himself for this long was not something just anyone can do.

Considering the pain he has to endure, Damon was devastated!

This is not the life they wanted for Blink!

No, I won’t let it end this way!

Damon’s eyes chilled as he refused to lose another person. The black gem embedded into his chest forced itself out before levitating towards the hole in his chest and settling in there.

Hmph!

Damon’s eyes were cold as power surged between him and the black gem taking the place of Blink’s heart. What was left of his undead army just gathered around him and watched their Sovereign in a volatile state?

This was the first time this great army is losing a battle!

.....

.........…

While Damon and the rest were still out there, Armanthos returned to the royal palace where the Gyro Kingdom nobles gathered with excitement in their eyes. The birth of a being who can protect the Gyro Kingdom from all adversities was what they needed now more than ever.

“Ask for a reward for your services” Gerald was straightforward and blunt.

“The battle is not yet over so this one asks for nothing. But if his Highness insists then I would request your Highness allow me to leave the capital and hunt down the enemy. I will return with his head as soon as possible!” Armanthos said with a firm look on his face.

Buzz!

No!

No!

No!

Everyone paled in fright. They believed the small victory gained by this man has gotten to his head and made him delusional. What makes him think he can take on someone like the death mage alone? Someone even the son of heaven couldn’t do and even the new son of heaven can’t do it.

But, what If he succeeds, doesn’t that mean he is above the son of heaven?

How can a subject be above his Sovereign?

Everyone looked towards Gerald wanting to see his reaction to this. Many expected him to explode in rage but instead, he seemed rather calm.

“You are our only assurance of safety here, letting you leave at a time like this would be foolish of me,” Gerald said thoughtfully as if he didn’t notice the underlined meaning behind Armanthos words.

A sovereign shouldn’t be afraid of wielding a blade even one shaper than him!

If a sovereign sees a power he cannot reach, he will use it to his advantage and Gerald planned to do that well. With a glance, he already understood Armanthos’ personality.

He had studied the lone wolf in the past and he is the only man who has truly grasped the essence of this role. A lone wolf had a territory it had to protect but it did it in its own way and shouldn’t be confined by the king of the mountain.

“However, if you wish to go, go ahead. We will do what we can to hold the capital while you are gone. Just don’t venture too far” Gerald added with a casual look on his face.

Huff!

Armanthos eyes turned strange as he looked at Gerald and nodded in approval. This man knew how to treat a powerful being like himself. It was nice to know he would be working with a smart king in the future.

“A tiger never wanders far from the mountain!” Armanthos said indifferently before walking away.

The entire hall fell silent and Gerald remained still with a smile on his face. His guess was right and now he has won over a powerful ally. The capital will be vulnerable when he is gone? Hmph!

With him and Dillian here he was confident enough to challenge Damon in the past so he can always do it again, especially now they are prepared.

“Check…. Let’s see how you survive this Damon” Gerald’s eyes shone with killing lights.

......….

Ah!

Blink slowly opened his eyes to see a campfire in an enclosed area. It looked like a building but no one was in it.

Images of Armanthos tearing out his chest resurfaced in his memories and His body shivered. He looked towards his chest and was stunned to see a massive black gem the size of a fist, embedded into his body where his heart should be. He could feel immense power flowing through this crystal and into his body fuelling his cultivation and nourishing his body as well. His body was bubbling with strength and he felt like he was on the verge of a breakthrough.

To do something like this will need a lot of power!

“Master!” Blink gasped as he sat up and looked around.

“Silence…” Damon’s emotionless voice resounded in his head as he felt Damon’s hand press against his lips.

Blink was shocked and looked up only to see an extremely pale Damon looking in a certain direction with a stern look on his face.

A bloody hole could be seen on his chest with black blood sipping out. His body seemed to be regenerating and tearing at the same time as if something was blocking his healing factor.

“Return to the other kingdoms. As soon as they take control of them, have the other hosts come over and give me a hand. In the meantime, I will stay here and wait for your return.” Damon said in a cold tone with frosty eyes.

Seeing his killing intentions surging, Blink didn’t dare ask any questions and quickly vanished.

Clap!

Clap!

Clap!

A figure dressed in silver and red robes emerged from the shadows with a domineering look on his face as he looked towards Damon’s kneeling figure.

“For someone who is my prey, you are quite bold to stay back even when you knew I was close by,” Armanthos said with a cold look on his face.
