138 Chapter 137: Preparing for war
“I guess it’s time we get serious and discuss the issue at hand,” Damon said as he stood at one corner of the round table in the war room with a slight frown on his face.
In the war room, only Cyrus, Gin, Blink, and Cassius were allowed. These are actually the only living inhabitants of the blood mountain that he can trust.
“You are bringing him here? Why?” Cassius looked at the young Blink standing on a stool just to be able to see what was on the table.
The others found it amusing but this ancient vampire had a bad sense of humor. It wasn’t that he hated the kid, he just didn’t think important issues like this should be something a child can get involved in.
“We three are the future new gods. We are destined to battle with the old gods and cosmic beings. When we reach that level, we won’t be able to exist in the mortal plane of existence... Blink is my successor and he will be the one to lead the empire I will build.... Your duty is to stand by the side of all successors and serve them for eternity... This child you plan to send away is the person you will swear loyalty to when my time in this life is over.... Don’t you think it’s necessary to start learning everything he needs to know at a young age?” Damon asked with a raised eyebrow.
Hearing his words, the entire room fell silent. While Cassius was pondering on Damon’s words while gazing at the thirteen-year-old with strange eyes, Gin and Cyrus felt uncomfortable. Damon had just reminded them of the destiny they so wished to forget.
The path in life will be a difficult one and they will most likely end up failing, considering the odds against them.
“We...” Cyrus wanted to speak but he didn’t know what to say or how to say it.
“We have the undying army of over seven hundred thousand. With such an amazing force we don’t have to worry about casualties in battle. We don’t have to worry about acquiring weapons of war and magic gear for our large army. We don’t have to worry about feeding our army or fatigue caused by fights... we hold the advantage in this aspect” Gin said with a stern look.
.....
He tried to clear the moody air and focus on what was important.
“But the four great kingdoms have wars of weapon, wide aoe spells that can be temporarily used to hold down my forces... They will come with at least one great general each, giving them four spirit realm experts, excluding the Three star alliance sect... They have at least seven spirit realm experts and we have only two...” Cassius said with a frown.
In terms of normal troops, they have the advantage but the truth remains that the seven spirit realm experts have what it takes to change the tide of battle. He and Damon will not be capable of handling these seven alone.
“Then our target won’t be the seven spirit realm experts...” Damon said as cruelty flashed in his eyes, making everyone shudder.
Seeing his eyes turn blood red while the black cracks began spreading across his face, was enough sign that he had cruel thoughts in his mind.
“I will summon the gate of the underworld here during the battle... Only with the gate open can I summon the seven princes of the underworld into this world... None of these invaders will survive this encounter” Damon said with a cold look in his eyes.
Hearing this everyone paled in fear, they looked at Damon with shocked expressions in their eyes. In war, it usually ends in heavy losses but never has it been recorded in a battle where a hundred percent of the warring sides were completely eradicated.
This won’t be a battle anymore, it’s a massacre!
Millions will die!
Buzz!
Cassius fell on one knee and bowed deeply with respect brimming in his eyes. He had seen Damon use the demon-kin magic during this invasion of the blood mountain. He took the form of a mighty three-headed demon and destroyed hundreds of thousands of foes without much effort.
And that was just him channeling the power of the demon through his weak body. If he could drag them into this war, their victory is assured.
“Damon...” Cyrus frowned. Even Gin felt uncomfortable.
They wanted to win the war not kill everyone involved!
“I know what you all are thinking. But think about it. Since the dawn of time, how many battles have been fought between the world and the guardian spirit hosts... millions of lives have been lost and these are accumulated through countless battles...” Damon said with a stern look on his face.
“I plan to end it all once and for all... If I cannot get the respect I will use fear to create this new world, a world where there will be no wars, no crimes, no evil... good does not win against evil, only a greater evil can consume the lesser one” Damon said with his eyes brimming with red blood light.
“And when the lesser evil is gone what happens to the greater evil?” Cyrus asked with a frown.
“An evil that can be controlled can be used for good. As long as you two are here I won’t be able to go too far. Or do you believe even the two of you combined are not capable of dealing with me?” Damon said the last part with a mischievous smile.
Hmph!
” Just know that we are here watching your every move. Once you step out of line I will personally take you down!” Cyrus snorted coldly and Damon smiled in response.
His face returned to normal condition and he shot Blink a glance. Seeing the kid looking at his face without any hint of fear he nodded with a smile.
A nod of approval.
“I will get going... We may have the plans down but it is also necessary we all get magic gears to improve our overall strength” Gin said.
Heating this, Cassius was slightly stunned as he looked at Gin’s face for the first time and frowned.
“Stonehammer?” Cassius asked With a hint of shock in his eyes.
“The last one thanks to the gyro Kingdom...” Gin said with a bitter smile.
“Over the centuries we the blood clan have accumulated treasures and weapons of various kinds... you should come over and pick the best and enchant them as you wish. With your skills, I’m sure our fighting power will be boosted with quality gears!” Cassius said this with respect brimming in his eyes.
Soon he and Gin were gone, leaving Damon, Cyrus, and Blink.
“You are really going to kill Klien and Lucy?” Cyrus asked with a raised eyebrow.
“I won’t kill them but I will drive them to their deaths... if they can escape my plans and act properly none of them will have to die” Damon answered casually.
“Naturally I don’t give a shit about Lucy but Klien... We all had strong memories we shared. Powerful bonds!” Cyrus seemed reluctant.
“Then he should have taken those memories to heart before betraying my trust” Damon said coldly as his eyes revealed a faint red flash.
His rage was slowly building.
“I will kill him when the time is right and revive him as my undead soldier. That way he will never betray me again” Damon added as he shut his eyes and opened them, revealing extreme calmness.
“No....” Cyrus said calmly stunning Damon.
“You said we are here to keep the greater evil in check so that’s what I’m going to do” Cyrus added.
“So how do you plan to do that?” Damon was as calm even after his intentions were rejected.
“Give them a chance to work their way back to our circle of trust... give them a chance to bleed and hurt for our sake and when we see their sincerity, we can forgive them. There is no need for unnecessary deaths... we have lost so many people already, why lose more?” Cyrus said and Damon frowned.
He wanted to reject abruptly but considering Cyrus’ attitude he knew he didn’t have a choice.
“Hmph! Sure but one mistake from both sides means Death” Damon said with frosty eyes but a smile bloomed on Cyrus’ face.
Damon grabbed Blink’s hand and lead him toward the door but when he got there he stopped and turned to Cyrus.
“Have Gin prepare a complete set of magic gear for Blink.... He will take part in this war.... Have everyone know I will be training my disciple until the time of battle has reached, we shouldn’t be disturbed’ Damon said calmly.
Hearing this Cyrus frowned but didn’t object. He just managed to save Klien and Lucy from Damon’s cruel plans. Antagonizing everything he does will only make this worse.
By the way, seeing how affectionate Damon was to the kid, he refused to believe Damon would send this child in without proper preparations.
