Chapter 157 - Hound Of The Gods
Chapter 157 - Hound Of The Gods
Exile grit his teeth as he accepted the situation. Although it was supposed to be a hidden trump card, the situation called for it. He activated his spell Hound of the Gods, summoning Skovi from the Mortal Realms.
A flash of golden light appeared next to Exile as soon as he activated it. When the light vanished and was replaced with a massive, snow white wolf, the onlooking players shouted in dismay! They believed that a third wolf had appeared out of thin air to attack Exile! A few brave players prepared themselves to enter that fight. No matter what, they could not let Exile fall so soon!
However, they froze when the wolf let out a howl before lunging forward and biting into the neck of one of the golden wolves. The new wolf snarled as it paced protectively between Exile and the elite wolf it had just attacked.
"What's going on?"
"Why's that wolf helping him?"
"Who cares! As long as it's helping, what's the issue?"
"Hey! You don't think that's a pet, do you?"
The last comment seemed to grab everyone's attention as they glanced at the player who said it. Their attention shifted to the white wolf and how it was defending Exile. As realisation dawned on them, a wave of complaints echoed out from the players. Even Aeri, Severance and Daynah appeared stunned by that development!
'Exile! You have another trick up your sleeve!' Aeri cursed as she watched the viciousness of Skovi's attacks. 'I'll need to remember this. As long as he has that beast, it will be difficult to beat him one on one. Luckily, it's just the same as the Divine Wolves...'
Aeri's thoughts were cut off as Exile took another blow. Skovi swiftly retreated and blew a golden cloud on Exile, who seemed relieved when it touched him. 'What! It's not just a normal wolf! What the hell did that ability do?'
The other players were asking themselves the same question as Exile became more reckless. He appeared more confident now that the wolf had appeared to aid him in his fight. Secretly, the other Pantheon leaders who saw this development began to send people to ask what ability it was that allowed Exile to summon a pet. Their greed had surfaced as they thought about how they could put that ability to their advantage.
'Good job, Skovi... I'm going to focus on this wolf. Whenever you get the chance, deal some extra damage to it for me. The quicker we slay it, the quicker we can bring this fight to an end!'
[Yes, Master!]
The pair limited themselves to talking using their link. Skovi had sensed that Exile did not want the others to know that Skovi could speak their language. Damage began to accumulate on one of the wolves they faced under their combined offensive. Exile had decided to go all out and used his spells freely to bring an end to the beast as quickly as possible.
The poor wolf found itself the target of Exile's Minor Grace, which covered him in a lightning aura that caused damage over time. But that was not all. Exile decided to use Cleansing Lightning as well. Five seconds later, the combined offensive of these spells brought an end to that wolf.
The crowd gasped at how ruthless the offensive had been. Where the others were struggling, Exile had overwhelmed one of his wolves already! However, he did not stop there. He turned his Cleansing Lightning spell on the second wolf, but it only lasted for three seconds before he no longer had enough DP to fuel it.
Despite that, the spell still caused an insane amount of damage. But even with the injuries it already had, it was not enough to finish it off. This was why Exile had summoned Skovi. He knew if he wanted to turn the tables, he would have to go all out and deplete his DP. Leaving him in a situation that forced him into a melee battle.
That would take a long time to bring to an end, but with Skovi and his healing by his side, he could afford to be more reckless. The grim situation they were in quickly changed with Skovi's arrival. Exile had successfully defeated one wolf and brought his second to the brink of death. Once he finished it off, then he would be free to help one of the others and his wolf could even help a second player.
Severance and Daynah felt relieved with that development. Exile had delivered them from the jaws of defeat! However, Aeri was naturally unhappy about it. She had a deep grudge with Exile and she was certain he had something to do with the problems she was having when dealing with King Balmir.
She had hoped to use this opportunity to study his strength. To better plan for their next clash. But it all seemed so pointless to her right now. 'I need to find out the secret behind that pet! If I want Kaleidoscope to stand at the top of Valheim, then I need one of my own!'
As she was thinking that, the combined efforts of Exile and Skovi brought the second wolf elite down. Exile could not help but grin as he quickly swept up the materials that both of the elites had dropped.
A loud cheer erupted from the onlookers. As far as they could see, the biggest threat of this sudden assault from the mobs had just been dealt with. Exile had crippled the major power of that elite group, so even if things went wrong now, it would not be so bad.
"He should retreat! We should cover him and give him the chance to run to the temple and recover his DP!" Someone in the crowd shouted, causing an ugly expression to appear on the faces of the still fighting Tier 1's.
Most of the crowd seemed to agree with that statement and prepared to open a path for exile to pass through. However, he turned his back on them and charged towards Daynah while Skovi rushed to Severance's side!
