Chapter 320 First Prince's Plot, Right-Hand Man

"What are you trying to do, Second Prince?" A young man, paired with his dark hair and eyes, stared right at the man in front of him. While enclosed in a room with arrays all around, this young man wasn't certain whether he could defeat the other party.

After all, the Second Prince was quite insistent on becoming the Fiend Emperor. He had not let go of his obsession. The young man knew that very well. As for himself, however, he never coveted the position of the Fiend Emperor. He had only seen it as a way to control a large group of people to be of assistance to his master in the future—the moment his master would come back.

After all, to him, Lin Diyu, his master was the only light in his darkest world.

"I am not here for a fight. I am only here to ask you one thing," the Second Prince replied, looking at him with calm eyes.

"Ask." Lin Diyu remained cold as he tried to process his brain, trying to come up with serious counterattacks in case this man decided to attack him in broad daylight. "I don't have much time to answer your questions. Ask away."

"Seeing you now, it seems like you're really hell-bent on cultivating," the Second Prince said as he sighed, looking down at the ground. "I honestly want to let go of my obsession. My mother was killed by some experts in the palace that I always wanted to get rid of. For example, that man beside the First Saint Prince."

Lin Diyu showed a surprised look. However, he still reined in his emotions as his vigilance was sky-high. "Ask away. I don't like it when you spout so many things only to arrive at one question."

"Can you at least hear out my story?" The Second Prince had a pleading look in his eyes, as though he was really trying to act like what he was going to say would be the truth.

"I'm not a good listener. Moreover, tactics like this won't work on me. Save your butt before I kick you out. If you want to ask about the throne, I don't give a damn about that throne. I don't want to be caught in political affairs like what happened to me in the past. You better not piss me off. Even if I know you're strong, do you believe that I can still kill you?"

Lin Diyu found himself screaming with arrogance. However, he didn't care. He wasn't born to please anyone, anyway. His master had always told him to be very vigilant against other people, especially people like the Second Prince. They were the types that would act like a fragrant flower in front of you but when you turn your back on them, they will become werewolves waiting for you to fall into their trap.

He wouldn't fall for that.

The Second Prince also lost his patience as he released his cultivation level. He had already reached the Inferiora Stage of the Saint Emperor Realm—which quite surprised Lin Diyu.

Lucky for him, he had a body that was bestowed to him by his master—several treasures used on him to cultivate faster. However, this man didn't even have parents and had only climbed his way up the ladder to become a Saint Prince in the Fiend Emperor Palace—and yet, he was able to reach this realm.

Like his royal brother in the lower realm, Lin Diyu was reminded of that scene again as his eyes turned cold. Also releasing his aura, he did not want to let this intruder strike him first.

Since he dared to come here, he must be prepared well enough. Therefore, he had to be careful and make his first move before anything else.

Lin Diyu, however, still acted cautious as his eyes revealed a ferocious light. He only released the same amount of strength as the Second Prince. He wanted to engage in a fight with him first. His cultivation realm, being at the peak of the Saint Emperor Realm, would be his final trump card—just like how his master would do in this kind of situation.

The Second Prince was surprised as he also launched an attack to counter Lin Diyu's. "Even if you have broken through to the same realm as me, you're still not my match, Third Saint Prince. You're just an ignorant brat. Although you're talented, you have little to no experience than me."

"Hell if I didn't have enough experience than you!" Lin Diyu screamed as he pushed the Death Scythe in his hands to send the Second Prince backward. "I once had a royal brother in the past. And guess what? He also betrayed me by framing me into becoming someone the people would not expect a noble would do!"

Lin Diyu was going all out in his current strength, swinging the Death Scythe from time to time, trying to exhaust the other party. However, what he said also urged him to be frantically acting like this. He was indeed still furious. Regardless, instead of dwelling in that past, he would rather move forward.

Now that he had a master that could protect him, he would not act the same as his royal brother once—who betrayed him and the royal family's eyes.

However, there was one thing that he was confused about. 'Why would the Second Prince come here alone? What was his purpose? Did he want to gauge my strength? Does this have something with a conspiracy he was currently brewing?'

Thinking about it, Lin Diyu's heart grew cold. Conspiracies were something he hated the most as it happened to him as well. Thus, with such thought, he even forced out more of his strength into his attacks that the Second Prince slowly fell into a disadvantage.

"Is that all you've got? You're too weak for a Saint Prince of a dignified palace like the Fiend Emperor Palace," Lin Diyu mocked, even putting away the Death Scythe back into his storage ring.

"Why did you put away your weapon?" the Second Prince asked, bad premonitions rising from his heart. "We're not done yet!"

"However, I'm already done with it!"

"Not too fast!"

The Second Prince erupted once more as the small palace where Lin Diyu was residing was gradually starting to crumble. A quake could be felt by everyone as the First Prince noticed this as well.

The First Prince, who was cultivating inside a small palace of his own, smiled. It seemed like his right-hand man's idea was really good. Now, those two were already fighting to the death. After that, he would just be going to reap all the rewards after killing the party that won. For certain, the party that won would be seriously injured. After all, the concept of a Saint Prince fighting against another Saint Prince would generally make people think that they would be on par with each other.

Only schemes would work on them, not pure strength. Schemes and wit.

"You really hit the mark, uncle!" the First Prince praised the man standing beside him, guarding him all the time. "It seems like the Second and Third are now fighting for their lives. To think you're able to plant a spy in one of the higher-ups serving the Second Prince—truly marvelous! I can't help but feel secure with you around!"

"First, you have to be careful still. We may know the strength of the Second Saint Prince, at least—we could guess—however, the Third Saint Prince was the hardest to read. Even when he and I met for the first time, he did not exude any dangerous aura. However, I can feel this instinctive peril from him. It was as though I will die whenever I decide to confront him. I'm not even sure now if the Second Saint Prince could survive."

The First Prince's face turned dark. If his uncle said so, then it meant that the Third Saint Prince was really a troublesome foe to handle. If the Second Saint Prince couldn't handle him, he would do it himself. After all, even if he was the most show among the three, he was also at the same time the most secretive.

Who knew where his strength lies now?

"I'll take note of that uncle. After all, every hunch that you told me last time always happened. You, practicing in the Path of Divination—it's really useful to me. That's why I'll be forever grateful for your help. Now, uncle, send some people to spy on the ongoing fight and constantly try to report to us what was happening."
