Chapter 149: Flee When You See Me!
Chapter 149: Flee When You See Me!
'Odd…why is the sensation of my heart getting sliced up always so refreshing? I could have sworn I wasn't a masochist.' As Vel's Dark Majesty ripped his heart asunder, Hakim's thoughts wandered, and he rubbed his bleeding chest, shrugging off the pain and pushing towards our Queen Regent.
In that instant, Gurdenhozer's Abomination dropped on the battlefield. And if before, the battle was already heavily on the Astalon side, when Gurdenhozer's hammer came crashing, the Blood Aristocracy had no answer, corpses of Blood Nobles piling up by the second.
The situation wasn't ideal. If they didn't regain momentum soon, the crew was toast. Hakim's Sensory Secret scanned the battlefield for an opportunity, failing to come up with proper countermeasures.
'You have the right idea but the wrong approach. The essence of the Worldbreaker's powers can be summed up in one word: "Rumble."
Channel the memories that most resonate with your bloodlust…and let your rage explode. My Rumble…is unstoppable.' A deep and overbearing voice resounded in Hakim's soul, guiding his next move.
The scene of the first generation assembling at the Mausoleum of Evil alongside their sacrifices replayed in the Huntmaster's mind, and he raised the Worldbreaker, oblivious to the cluster of dark lightning that shrouded his upper body.
"Rumble," Hakim whispered, and swung the hammer down, firing a rumbling blast that laid waste to the sealed domain and sent Vel flying back! Sanguine mist blew out of Hakim's nostrils, and he launched forth, hurtling at Vel with his fangs bared and thirsting for blood!
"Hold still…" Alas, the curse held strong, binding Hakim to Vel's Majesty. His speed plummeted, dropping so fast that even ordinary templars could see him grinding to a halt.
"This really be…some bullshit!" Hakim snapped in frustration. The Astral Blood Ring forming above his head and powering his Blood as he shrugged off Vel's Majesty and resumed his murderous charge.
The Queen Regent unfolded her brand-new divine wings, her battle prowess soaring alongside the pressure of her demonic aura. And she rose to meet the challenge!
Meanwhile, Aurelia reeled with her Blood Phoenix, tumbling through columns of Bleeding Angels as Drakneil brought them crashing down. Mithras vanished, climbing out of Aurelia's shadow with his hammer swinging at her side. She didn't dodge, spinning into the move and blocking with her bare arm.
In that same breath, Aurelia chopped at Mithras' neck, unloading at a pace of 300 million slashes per second.
The standard swings became blinding flashes of light, hacking into Mithras with the weight of falling meteors.
Achieving this caliber of speed without Godhood, Perfection or Divine Secrets, just standard physical attributes and martial accomplishments…was nothing short of a generational feat.
From the moment he'd been reborn in Flameheart City, Mithras had never faced such an accomplished warrior. In that area, even Akamana would recognize Aurelia…as the Quintessence of Martial Perfection.
This had nothing to do with tricks like Quantum Tunneling that carried little to no momentum. Left unchecked, each slash could obliterate Springtime City, and there were 300 million of them.
But so what?

Mithras' skin took a colorful shade, sanguine horns sprouting from his forehead as draconic tattoos formed on his chest and back—all shining with blinding rays.
A vertical flaming wheel appeared behind Mithras, looming over twelve pairs of draconic wings that unfolded from his back with a storm of transcendent force! Just as Aurelia beforehand, Mithras didn't avoid the slashes, taking them head-on while lighting up his hammer with tongues of solar fire.
The Blood-Smelting Art kicked in, forcefully taking ownership of Aurelia's Bleeding Angels and morphing them into legions of Blood Serpents that turned their back on their monarch! The beasts went unhinged, spitting tides of blood flames at Aurelia's face.
She didn't mind, soaring into the sky and beheading them all with one slash before flying down with her sword thrusting at the middle of Mithras' forehead. The same Astral Blood Ring that had formed for Hakim appeared on Aurelian's head, pumping her with premium gear as she charged face-first into a gorefest.
Aurelia's sword could slice through light and Pyromantic Theses. Mithras could alter or outright take control of Inner Flames and enemy theses. So when the two faced off, they went back to the basics, meeting swords with metal and testing the limits of their monstrous attributes.
Aurelia lost ground at every step, steadily pushed back as her soul tried its best to not collapse and shatter completely. The Weaver's best efforts could only suppress the Right of Annihilation if Aurelia fell back and retreated. But with the Blood Empress intoxicated by her thirst for victory...retreat...was never an option.
She was here to win!
——
"Aurelian, why do you kill? Each time you siege a city, the blood of millions must fill the streets. Why? It's too much. So much so that I can't help but ask myself…if giving you a sword wasn't a crime against humanity."
"(I can't help it. The colors are too bright)."
"The…colors?"
"(It took years for me to realize…that I don't see the world the way normal people do. All I see is light and colors. And for as long as I can remember, there was always a voice in my head, telling me, begging me…to erase the bright shades.
That voice was always so desperate, so relentless…and tiring, that every now and then, I'd give it the slaughter it needed to leave me in peace. But one day, the voice got louder. So loud…that if I don't please it 24/7…I will probably go insane. But I'm already insane. So what's the difference you ask? I don't know.
I don't care. I'm just doing my job. Win and kill. Win and kill…till the world is silent darkness. And the voice inside my head…appeased forever.
Or maybe I should just enjoy the process of snuffing out the light? Have you ever seen a star die out? Mesmerizing…but so quick. I wish the light struggled a little longer.
Like an angel in the harness of the devil. Dazzling in its struggle…and unspoiled by the filth.
Where is my angel? Who…will make me feel alive?)"
"Oh Lord what have I done? My child…is a broken doll."
——
Sending Aurelia flying with a standard Mind Blast, Mithras remembered a piece of his half-sibling's past, and with a compassionate look, raised his hammer for the final strike.
But here, the tables turned like a rollercoaster.
"GRRRRRRR!" Letting loose a soul-splitting roar, Marcus ripped Trajan's Abomination into pieces, charging back at Mithras! The result of the Trajan vs. Marcus fight took Mithras' crew by surprise, a general panic taking over for a split second.
That split second was all Hakim needed to break off, blitzing Mithras with an explosion of primal energies!
"Can't blame you for this one. In the Second Generation of Fylkirs, Marcus was always number two—right underneath Aurelian. But since he's a bookworm who never fishes for fame, the young bluds assumed I was stronger.
I am now, however!" In a spiral of thaumaturgic energies, Hakim transformed, becoming a flying Abomination as he lunged at Mithras!
Here, a cluster of blood petals formed around Aurelia, and to Mithras' shock, her sword tore through his chest. A hurricane of blood light took off, ripping into Mithras with ten thousand searing cuts!
Wrathful Dance of the Blood Overlord, Aurelia's strongest and self-made templar skill, fired in style, slaying the Sun in one move!
Or so Aurelia hoped. But then golden tear drops fell from the sky, pillars of solar flames lining up in the air and blowing Aurelia's thesis out of existence.
Worse, Hakim, Marcus and Aurelia…all faced the same absurd spell, their Inner Flames breaking down and scattering as their eyes stretched impossibly.
"Fleeing when you see me should be a natural instinct. Aurelia, even if your brain doesn't recognize that you're female, your cunt will all day,"
Mithras said, and unleashed his pheromones, firing the world's strongest aphrodisiac at Aurelia point blank! It was here that the Empress realized…that this time around the light was fighting back. Coming to snuff out her spark!
