Chapter 593: Chapter 595: Trust Me Again (1)

Qin Zhiyou glanced at her without saying anything but seemed to remember something, and went out.

When he returned, he had a shopping bag in his hand, filled with clothes he had bought and washed today.

Lu Weixi had her back to the door the entire time. She didn’t know why Qin Zhiyou went out and came back, but she knew that when he returned, he opened the wardrobe’s door and seemed to be organizing some clothes, folding and placing them one by one inside.

With a disinterested look, Lu Weixi pulled her quilt closer. Suddenly, as if remembering something, she turned over.

As expected, Qin Zhiyou was cramming the little clothes he bought today into the wardrobe. That wasn’t right. Those clothes hadn’t been washed yet.

Lu Weixi quickly got up. Qin Zhiyou was just about to stuff a piece of clothing inside when she grabbed the other end. As Qin Zhiyou turned around, she happened to look at him and sighed, “These clothes can’t be put like this, especially without washing.”

She wanted to put the clothes in the laundry basket, but Qin Zhiyou didn’t let go. As the two tugged back and forth, Lu Weixi gave him a puzzled look. Qin Zhiyou calmly said, “The clothes have already been washed.”

Lu Weixi was stunned for a moment, realizing indeed that the texture of the clothes felt different, and the labels had all been cut off too.

“Did you give them to the maid to wash?” Lu Weixi pointed out another issue, instantly a little unhappy, “How can these clothes be washed by someone else?”

Even if it isn’t entirely transparent, this style is pretty bold, isn’t it?

“Mrs. Hao washed them, no one else touched them.” Qin Zhiyou calmly glanced at her, thought for a moment, and chose not to mention that he had washed the clothes himself. Although he wasn’t entirely lying, because for clothes that needed dry cleaning, Mrs. Hao did help, like the piece they were holding now.

Yet, he casually added, “I helped to hang them out. They seem to have shrunk a bit – did I buy a size too small?”

Qin Zhiyou was utterly serious when he spoke, but Lu Weixi had been fooled by him many times and wouldn’t be tricked so easily this time.

Especially after the hospital incident that day, she was preoccupied with many things and didn’t want to argue with him. Nor was she in the mood to joke around or laugh with him.

She silently took the clothes, neatly folding and storing them one by one. After cleaning up everything, she returned without uttering a word, lifted the quilt, turned her back to him, and fell asleep.

Qin Zhiyou stood still for a few seconds, but he didn’t step forward immediately. Instead, he went to the bathroom.

Lu Weixi had her back to him, but she could hear the rushing water from the bathroom, his rinsing sounds, and the buzzing of his electric razor. Usually, after completing these steps, it meant he had certain intentions.

But today, she was really not in the mood.

Soon, the sounds from the bathroom stopped, followed by the sound of the bathroom door opening. Then, his measured footsteps approaching, and finally, the sound of him sitting down at the foot of her side of the bed, causing the bed to sink slightly.

There were rustling noises, indicating he was drying his hair and changing clothes. She had her back to him but could smell his body wash and shampoo. Then came the sound of him turning off the lights, plunging the room into darkness again.

Inside the dark room, with the air conditioner softly blowing, Lu Weixi seemed to feel the man beside her slowly moving closer bit by bit.
