Chapter 598: Chapter 598: Second Brother, Let Me Do It
Just then, his cell phone rang.
Fu Yi brought the phone to his ear, “Hello.”
“Fu Yi, where are you? Didn’t I say earlier that I wanted to find you and have you look at my latest design? You’re on your way home, so you’re at home, right?”
The voice belonged to Shen Siyuan.
Fu Yi was at a loss, not wanting to tell Shen Siyuan that he was with Li Shengxiao, but since she said she was on her way to his house, his gentlemanly instincts and affection for his sister made him reluctant to let her make the trip for nothing. After a brief hesitation, he spoke up, “I’m not at home, I’m out with Shengxiao, do you want to come over?”
Shen Siyuan, hearing the name she had been dreaming about, immediately turned her car around and asked eagerly, “Yes, where are you guys?”
Fu Yi glanced at the man who had already had the waiter open the vodka bottle and was continuing to drink heavily, his expression filled with deep helplessness, “At Dark Night.”
“I’ll be right there!” Shen Siyuan got the address, slammed on the gas pedal all the way down, and hung up, “Wait for me. Bye.”
Fu Yi hung up the phone and sighed silently in his heart, unsure if he had done the right thing. But given the situation at hand, he couldn’t care less; he couldn’t just let Shengxiao keep drinking.
With Siyuan coming, at least there would be two of them. Persuading with two people would surely be more effective than just one.
…
Shen Siyuan rushed to Dark Night, heels clicking, abandoning her usual poised grace for a frenzied pursuit inside.
When she arrived, though, she saw no one.
“Where is everyone?” Thinking Fu Yi had left before her, she asked the nearby waiter with a stern face.
The waiter, initially mesmerized by her beauty, was caught off guard by her assertive tone and snapped back to reality, just as he was about to answer.
Fu Yi, supporting someone, was already walking toward them.
“Shengxiao!” Shen Siyuan, upon seeing who he was supporting, rushed over without a second thought. As she saw Li Shengxiao’s furrowed brows and rose-colored thin lips tightly pressed in a barely concealed expression of pain, her heart tightened, and she looked up accusingly at Fu Yi, “What happened? How did Shengxiao end up like this?”
Fu Yi, knowing her feelings for Li Shengxiao and wanting to spare her anguish, didn’t reveal the real reason, “He seems to be in a bad mood.”
Shen Siyuan bit her lower lip, stomped her foot, and reproached Fu Yi discontentedly, “Even if he was in a bad mood, as his brother, you shouldn’t have let him drink like that. You know he can’t hold his liquor, why didn’t you try to stop him?”
Fu Yi defended himself seriously, “Shengxiao just threw up blood, I called Jiangjing, let’s get him over there first.”
He had asked Shen Siyuan to come with the hope that having two people there to persuade Shengxiao would be more effective than one. He hadn’t expected Li Shengxiao to drink even more severely than he had imagined, to the point of causing his stomach to bleed.
Earlier, he had also called Gu Ming, and found out from him that Shengxiao hadn’t managed to eat anything all day.
Not having eaten all day, then drinking like a man with nothing to lose upon arriving, mixing several kinds of liquor, not to mention his already weak stomach, even someone with a good stomach would not have been able to handle it!
Shen Siyuan’s complexion changed upon hearing the words “threw up blood.” She pursed her lips, extended her hand, and said to Fu Yi, “Let me help Shengxiao, go start the car, second brother.”
The distinguished man seemed to have truly drunk too much, as he appeared hardly conscious.
